FM 2021 Save Ideas - 5 Transfers To Manage A Club For

There are many reasons to start a new save in Football Manager 2021 but sleeping giants and sugar daddies are not top of my list. The best FM 2021 save ideas could actually be centred around players. Of course, finances, stature and personal meaning come into play but it is players we’re managing so surely a teams Summer transfer business should be top of our list.

With this in mind, I have selected the top 5 transfers worth managing a club for from new number 9’s to golden generations.

FM 2021 Save Ideas — Transfers Worth Managing A Club For

5. Callum Wilson (Newcastle from Bournemouth)

OK, yes I am a Newcastle fan and very biased toward this selection but hear me out. The Toon Army have been starved of a proper, consistent number 9 since the dizzy days of Alan Shearer. The Geordie’s worship any frontman with an eye for goal and Wilson could be just that. Hard working and athletic Wilson has speed to burn, a poachers instincts and lethal finish.

Injuries have played there part down the line but I do not expect Callum to have an injury prone nature in FM21. The FM20 match engine struggled with balls in behind and if this proves true of FM21 Wilson could be ideal. Unleashing the 28 year old on Saint James Park and bringing goals back to Tyneside will be one of my first saves upon release.

4. Victor Osimhen (Napoli from Lille)

In a similar mould to Wilson and 7 years his junior Osimhen looks an electric signing for Italian giants Napoli. After struggling to impress for Wolfsburg little known Belgian side, Cherloi, signed the Nigerian in 2019 before quickly flipping a profit to Lille. Lighting up Ligue 1 Osimhen became known for his speed, finishing and ability on the ball but also for his high assist record and hold up play.

Napoli came a calling and paid a reported £63m for the complete forward just this Summer. With an aging Juventus line-up, failing Roma and floundering AC Milan the door is open for a new force in Serie A. Osimhen could lead the line to a first season Scudetto and maybe even launch an attack on Europe.

3. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham)

Dortmund have become the epicentre of talent boasting Sancho, Haaland and even Reinier (on loan) and even bringing the much loved Emre Can back. Jude Bellingham is the icing on the cake for me, an outrageous talent we all grew to love in FM20.

At 17 years of age you could build Borussia’s team around this kid using Haaland’s pace in behind, Sancho’s skill from the wing and a number of midfield anchors to unlock the frontline’s creativity.

2. Fabio Silva ( Wolves from FC Porto)

Yes, another forward but how could I leave out Fabio Silva, the legendary Football Manager wonderkid. Perhaps a surprise move for one of the hottest prospects on the planet, but Wolverhapton manager, Nuno Santo is Silva’s compatriot, already lured the highly touted Ruben Neves, and boasts a squad built around some of Portugal’s best players.

Now aged 18 Silva is a mature, complete forward with a bit of everything and should lead your line while Neto and Adama Traore wreak havoc from either wing. Not to mention the most recent arrival of right back Semedo from Barcelona.

1. Kai Havertz (Chelsea from Bayern Leverkusen)

Kai Havertz requires no introduction as one of the very best Football Manager wonderkids for a couple of editions now. Havertz hit another level in FM20 and is now not only a talent but star to build your entire tactic around.

Havertz has sensational ball control, creativity and an eye for goal. The German should warrant one of the highest current ability ratings in FM 2021. Add compatriot Timo Werner, Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva for one hell of a spending spree. Chelsea could be THE wonderkid powerhouse come Football Manager 2021 release day.

    Hi Darren,

Might want to remove Jota’s name and replace it with Pedro Neto.

I know this post was probably written a couple of weeks ago, just wanted to help out the community.
