What happened in the 1999-2000 Season?

In May 1999, Manchester United famously lifted the Champions League trophy. Who doesn’t remember their historic treble winning season, when Dwight Yorke was written off at the start of the year as being ‘too expensive’.

Talking about Manchester United, Peter Schmeichel decided to leave the club and was replaced by a Massimo Taibi and Mark Bosnich, I wonder what happened to them?

The Ballon D’Or was awarded to Rivaldo.

On the other side of Manchester, Manchester City had just been promoted from Division 2 to Division 1.

Current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was still playing for Barcelona.

Alongside him was a young wonderkid Mikel Arteta, who is now the Arsenal Manager in real-life.

Jose Mourinho was a coach at Barcelona.

Real Madrid were managed by John Toshack before he was sacked and replaced by B team Manager Vincente Del Bosque.

AboutTheFMRetroGroup

The FMRetroGroup was established in April 2020, consisting of creators who use the FM editor, have skills in graphic designing or just want to collect player and staff photos for our database.

We pride ourselves in creating the most detailed and realistic databases, with only THREE MONTHS being spent created the 1999-2000 BETA, with over 1,000 youngsters created who will come to their teams as and when they turn 14, meaning you can carry on playing this save in 2040 (Which would be 2020 based) to find Mbappe in your save at the age he is now!

Love this patch! However surprised there is no Iker Casillas or Fernando Torres added. Would to see more future hot prospects come though like this in the under 19’s of teams. Cracking idea though

Noticed with this save that leagues start at 19/20 season however it just has 99/00 squads. So when observing a history from a league or cup this would jump from 98/99 winners the the next season would be 19/20 therefore missing all seasons in between And generations of footballs that could come through the seasons, such as ibrahimovic, sneijder, Torres, Diego Forlan etc.. Unless I’ve done something wrong with this? Also noticed that some retired footballs are still on this game in club history who are actively playing. Love to see if these could be sorted or if the editor could be made available for people to rectify these themselves. Just some feedback. Can’t wait to get start on this

I would get in touch with the creators on Twitter links in the post. They certainly won’t make the editor available as that would just right off all their hard work.
