What happened in the 1999-2000 Season?

In May 1999, Manchester United famously lifted the Champions League trophy. Who doesn’t remember their historic treble winning season, when Dwight Yorke was written off at the start of the year as being ‘too expensive’.

Talking about Manchester United, Peter Schmeichel decided to leave the club and was replaced by a Massimo Taibi and Mark Bosnich, I wonder what happened to them?

The Ballon D’Or was awarded to Rivaldo.

On the other side of Manchester, Manchester City had just been promoted from Division 2 to Division 1.

Current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was still playing for Barcelona.

Alongside him was a young wonderkid Mikel Arteta, who is now the Arsenal Manager in real-life.

Jose Mourinho was a coach at Barcelona.

Real Madrid were managed by John Toshack before he was sacked and replaced by B team Manager Vincente Del Bosque.
