Hey guys and welcome back to my FM11 Terek story. As you know, I resigned as Queens Park manager and joined Russian First Division side Terek half way through their campaign. They were having a disappointing season before I led them to an unlikely promotion. Now I must prepare for the Premier Division, and it will undoubtedly be incredibly arduous to regain our top flight status.
The club received just under £1,000,000 pounds in TV rights prior to the new season which to be honest is extremely disappointing. Hopefully we’ll receive a far larger sum depending on where we finish this campaign… Anyway the financial state of the club was secure as we had around £14,ooo,ooo pounds in the bank balance as we approached the new season. Regarding the season expectations, I decided to take a gamble. I told the board we could finish in a mid table position in order to obtain more cash. The board gave me £11,750,000 pounds and a wage budget of £175,000 per week.
The media weren’t to enthusiastic either, we are predicated to finish second last and lack any chance of achieving anything else.
Let’s see my transfers, I made a huge loss but I won’t be here long enough to care about it tbh. Terek will just be a stepping stone to what I really want to achieve in this journeyman story. I would have liked to have sold more players, but I don’t want to risk anything yet as this Russian journey is new to me. Most of the players I signed are foreign, but I can easily make a profit on them. I did manage to sign some Russians, and of course I wanted to sign more but their value didn’t justify their ability. If we do manage to stay up, then next season I will defiantly attempt to ship out some of my foreign players and sign more Russians.
Like last time, I won’t introduce all the players, instead I’ll show you those who I think will be essential to our progress this campaign.
Mauricio:
I was pleased with the current number 1 I had, but I wanted somebody amazing in goal and I think I found him. I spent £3,200,000 pounds to bring him here and I believe he’ll be well worth the price. Introducing my new number 1, Mauricio!
Vladimir Rzhevskiy:
Interestingly enough, my defense was phenomenal last season as we kept 8 clean sheets in a row. I knew improvement was needed however and I signed Vladimir for just £190,000 pounds. He will be Burlak’s new partner and I’m sure this Russian defensive duo can keep a reasonable amount of clean sheets this season.
Vladimir Granet:
Granet will be my new left back, and considering I paid a hefty £1,800,000 for his services, I really hope he can pay me back with some consistent performances on the pitch. A »one cap wonder», this player adds more quality to my left flank and will be extremely vital to our season if we are to stay up.
Leandro:
Bearing in mind hiss price, Leandro isn’t much of a risk. Yeah, there’s always the fear that he may flop, but I can easily make a profit on him considering his tiny price of £140,000. He’s quick, determined and skillful. I’m optimistic he can develop further here and become a quality player has he certainly possess the potential to do so.
Marcao:
My »marquee» signing, I spent a mega £2,800,000 on Marcao. Me and Santos argued for ageeeees over the transfer fee, they wanted £4,100,000 at the beginning but I managed to persuaded to decrease their initial asking price and we settled on £2,800,000. He will more than likely become my new »advanced playmaker».
Ruslan Pashtov:
Ruslan will either be my new right winger or my new »poacher». He’s extremely pacey but his mental attributes are very poor. Hopefully he will score some important goals this season.
We played no less than 14 pre season friendlies, and 13 of those were played away. We began terribly, losing 6 out of our first 7 fixtures. However my new players clearly made a significance difference we we won our next 6 games before drawing our last game. The main aim of these fixtures were to raise cash as we received nearly £100,000 in appearance fees for the majority of the friendlies.
Our opening game away to Spartak will be extremely intimidating, but I’ll anticipating to benefit against some of the lesser sides. It will be extremely difficult, but I’m confident we can avoid relegation.
Well folks, that concludes today’s post. If you want to see the player profile of my other new acquisition’s just let me know and I’ll post up a picture in my next post. Thanks for reeding and feel free to express your opinion.

Hey Sears,
Looks like you’ve made some nice transfers there after being given a generous budget which I don’t blame you for spending freely, after the squad you were given to begin with. £1,000,000 was disappointing for TV money, but hopefully you’ll get some more money by the end of the season. I hope you can anchieve top half easily, like you said you would.
Good Luck! :D

Cheers Hazza. My squad is more competitive now, although I would like to have more Russians on board. My target of mid table may have been one risk to much but what’s FM without setting challenge’s for yourself?

Well done Sears, you seem to have spent wisely and brought in some good players. I think telling the board a mid-table finish was good too as you gained some much needed money for transfers. well done mate

Hey Sears
I think that you have some amazing signings, but maybe you could get some players from England. But I still think that you got what you needed.
Sears

Thanks, and I bought one player from England but I expect to sell him in a year or two for a profit.

Hey Sears,
Great signings there, I like the look of your new keeper and Marcao. I think your more than good enough and equipped to remain in the league this season and do even better!
Sears

Cheers Sayam, I’m pleased with my signings two. Hopefully my two Brazilians can lead us to safety.

Brilliant signings, you have done very well in the market and I expect a pretty high finish from you, 5th could be achievable. Good luck!
Sears
15 апреля, 2011 at 21:42
Sorry Alex, your predication will defiantly not be achieved :-( I think we lack an out to out striker, cheers for the comment.

Hi Sears,
Some great signings you have. Marcao will be crucial as he has fantastic pace and great technique. Typical Brazilian flair. You should be able to do well this season. Good luck.

Hey Lye, I totally agree with you regarding your words towards Marcao. Hopefully we can stay up, that’s my main target. Anything else would be an added bonus

Leandro looks like a great bargain Sears, you have done well there considering Marcao was far more expensive
The signings for your backline should help nicely against the higher quality of opposition attackers they will have to face
Hopefully you can achieve your target of a mid table finish :D
Sears

Yeah, Leandro is a solid player. Marcao is great to though!! I may have taken a risk in saying I’d finish mid table.. Ah well.. Cheers

The new keeper looks great and so does that new centre back. I think that you will easily achieve the mid-table goal.

Just to clarify, what are you trying to achieve from the save and where are you hoping to go to next?
Anyway, sears they are some great signings you’ve made with a solid preseason after everyone felled together :). Hopefully you can pull it off against Spartak and have a decent run in leading up to Christmas!
Good luck.

When I began this save, my first intentions were to become a journeyman manager, beginning at the bottom and working my way to the top. These day’s you rarely see one manager spend their WHOLE career at one club so I decided to change my FM11 style and become more adventurous. My aim is to manage in all the countries I chose and have a really really long and hopefully successful career. This story will last until FM12 comes out!
We don’t play through Christmas as the weather is so cold :-D Thanks for the comment.

Hi Sears
Goalkeeper looks great and I think it’s important to build from the back.Is that your thinking?
I’ll be interested to see how Leandro does over the coming months and good in your first campaign in the RPL.
Sears

Yup your spot on Kevin, when you build a house you start at the base yeah, not the top? That was my attitude heading into the transfer window. I would have liked to have signed an out to out striker though. Thanks Kevin.

Thanks for the compliment Adam, great to see that people like my story. I guess it’s different to others as I won’t be spending my whole career with one club.
You can download my skin from here:

Thanks for the comment pal.

Some good signings Sears,
You did spend alot of money but I guess if you are not planning to hang around for too long then you might aswell spend it.
Good luck on trying to survive!!
Sears

Thanks Ana. Even if I was staying here long term, I would have had to have spent a lot of money to make us a competitive team. Money makes the world go around!

Thanks for the kind words George, but can someone tell me how to put the file up for download? I don’t know how to do it :-(
