Sears — FM11 Queens Park: Pre Season 13/14

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my Queens Park story. I apologize for the long delay, but I spent all last week doing work experience in the Army, which I enjoyed loads. Anyway I don’t want to bore you with all the details so on with my Queens Park story. Last season was hugely successful as we finished in an impressive 4th spot. We could have been genuine title contenders if it warn’t for our dreadful start. You may also remember our incredible Scottish FA Cup run. We made it all the way to the semi finals but a very strong Hearts team dashed our hopes of winning the trophy. My aspirations for this forthcoming season were to go on another amazing Cup run and win the league.

Since were amateur, my board don’t give me any expectations. As usual, we are predicated to suffer relegation. The bookmakers have given us no chance whatsoever to challenge for the title. I think this is absolutely fantastic! We»ll be expected to lose in very single game, therefore meaning there will be no pressure on us. Hopefully my new team can thrive on this and secure a very very very very unlikely promotion.

Transfers out:

I came to the conclusion that all these wasters had to leave. Most of them are youngsters with no potential, and a few from the first team departed as well. None of them had a future with this club and it reduced the amount of players training and everything. More will leave during the beginning of the season as I determine who is good enough to launch a consistent title challenge.

Transfers in:

I didn’t sign to many players as I was pleased with the strength of my squad.  Obviously more players may join, depending on how we begin the season. We did well last year from around January onwards so it was evident we had a team that could challenge for the title. However I wanted to replace the mediocre players with better ones, so here they are:

Jeff Stans was the first players to be bought in on free this summer. My scout says he is a quality player and he would be a leading star for most First Division clubs. His main weakness is concentration and his stamina is quite worrying too, but he’s an extremely athletic player and will slot straight into the center midfield area.

Andy Dowie had a superb season for Morton last season and I was delighted to have picked up this talented right back on a free transfer. Mr. Dowie used to play for Scottish giants Rangers but he has spent most of his career playing in the lower leagues. His physical attributes are wonderful and he will be my first choice right back this season.

My next signing was a 19 year old regen from England. This youngster was released by Aston Villa and I signed him purely for his pace. My scout says that he’s already a good player and has the potential to become a key player in the future. Unfortunately I don’t think he will the training necessary here to develop into a good player.

Our strikers were far to inconsistent last season this I decided to sign two more. Emre is a talented player from Turkey. He used to play for Wolfburg’s reserve squad before spending most of his career in the lower leagues of Germany. He scored 10 goals in the German 3rd Division last season thus I’m hopeful he can score a few goals with us.

The last striker I signed on a free transfer is René Schintzler. This German used to play for St.Pauli in the German Second Division so his experience will be essential. He’s quick, his mental attributes are impressive and his finishing isn’t to shabby either. I’m sure he can score goals for us this season.

Aberdeen decided to sent a young left back from Northern Ireland on loan to us for the reminder of the campaign. I don’t see him playing much this season but he is a decent young prospect.

My first choice left back will be Soren Halfer. This talented player has spend the majority of his career in the lower leagues of Germany but did manage to feature for Hannover in the German First Division. Although he isn’t strong, he’s extremely quick and will be a key player for us this season.

That concludes my transfer activity thus far. My staff needed a revamp too and thankfully my board accepted my request to increase the number of coaches we are allowed to have. This allowed me to improve our defending, attacking and shooting categories. Tactics seriously needs improving but that won’t be possible until the board allow me to sign another coach. Here are some pictures of my training areas and my new staff.

Our pre season friendlies were quite poor, but nothing worrying. Tbh, I don’t care to much about these games as I value them unimportant.

In our first competitive fixture of the new season, we had to play 3rd Division side Berwhick in the Challenge Cup 1st round at home. We easily dismantled them 3-0 and progressed to the next round where we will face fellow 1st Division team Morton.

Our League Cup journey began with a bang as he put 5 goals past Stenhousemuir, another 3rd Division team. New signing René Schintzler scored a terrific hat trick to steal the plaudits.

And finally, here’s my 30 man squad for the upcoming season. We always have problems with fatigue, but that shouldn’t be a problem this season as most players in my team are as good as each other. We’ve a strong team and if we got off to an respectable start we can surly challenge for the title.

Well folks, that’s all for today’s post. I’ve all week off school so I’ll have loads of time to play FM. That’s for reading and feel free to comment or ask any questions. Cheers.

Hey Sears, finally a year in which you hold onto the key players!! You’ve also added a few handy additions and looking at the squad, I’d fancy those odds of 40-1 on the title. Good luck mate

Sears, you have assembled a team of coaches (wait, they don’t get paid either right? :P)

    Hey Sears,

Firstly, congratulations on getting decent coaches for no money! That must be very hard and you have done very well. You let a lot of players go and I believe you have done well to get the players you have brought in, a title challenge is very possible. I would love to see you get promoted and good luck, looking forward to your next post.
