Ana – FM 2011: South China, Season Six

Hi!

So we say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 hopefully this year will be the best year yet! And what better way to start than an update in my challenge?! So lets have a look what happened in my most confusing year to date!

Career History :

— Cheonan (July 2010 – January 2013)

— South China (June 2013 – present)

Honours :

Hong Kong League Title : 2014, 2015 (South China)

Senior Shield : 2013 (South China)

League Cup : 2014, 2015 (South China)

Asian Confederation Cup : 2014 (South China)

————————-

Transfers In

Tan Si

So I made only one new signing and that was this back-up striker Tan Si. He may be Chinese but is not classed as foreign due to spending 5 years in Hong Kong.

League Results And Table Halfway Point

Boring or what?! We remain unbeaten and right on course to defend our league title.

So we are top which shouldnt be a real shock, but Sun Hei are much improved and for once I have a fairly big threat to think about. Most of their players are foreign but they have two very good Brazilian players one is as good as the best player I have in my team.

Mid Season Transfer Window

Tharles

So with a few of player gaining Hong Kong citizenship it freed up some foreign spot on my team, so I signed this Brazilian on a free transfer. He is a defensive midfielder but can also play at centre back and right back!

Zhao Yuming

Bought ths young Chinese full back knowing that it will only take a few years for him to become a Hong Kong citizen, payed a small fee of £30k to Shangdong and should be a good player in a few years.

End Of Season Table And Results

So we have remained unbeaten for two season which is a first for me! Despite not winning in our final three games we had already done enough to regain the league title. Sun Hei did have a good season but once again we were too strong and I had won my third league title in a row.

So my two strikers were in lethal form again getting 66 goals between them and my centre back Diego Martins scored 8 times. But was really pleased with all my players and was really looking forward to the new season.

I felt I could do a little better than last year however this is where the confusion set in!!

My contract at South China expired! I am pretty sure they didnt offer me a new one and if they did I may have accidently rejected it thinking it was an offer for one of my players. What ever the reason I am no longer contracted to them and am now unemployed!

I guess its a good thing as my aim at South China was to increase my reputation which I have done, and the league was really easy to win! But now I must find a new club which will be unveiled in my next post! :)

Morocco

So we beat these countries which allowed us to qualify for the next round of qualification for the upcoming world cup. Won every game but am not really too happy with my team.

This is our group for the African cup of nations that is on the horizon, and I honestly dont know if its a hard group or not!!

Cup Competition

The Senior Shield

The Final

So we won the senior shield with the most comfortable of wins, South Korean Jung Yoon-Sung with a hat-trick adding to Wang Bo’s penalty.

The Asian Confederations Cup

The Final

So if you remember I failed to qualify for the champions league so I automatically qualified for the confederations cup sort of the Europa league of Asia.  I went on to win the trophy again but the competition ran over into this season.

The League Cup

The Final

So we beat Citizen again and Digao must have a real problem with us as he was sent off again! We won the game with goals from Lam Ka Wai and a double from Tan Si to regain our league cup title!

The FA Cup

The Final

Well Citizen got the win they deserved! We beat them in two finals already this season so they claimed the FA cup. Bad game summed up by the amount of bookings we had.

The Asian Champions League

So despite our loss in the second round I was really pleased with how we performed. Jeju are a big South Korean club which we beat in both tie’s. I didnt know we only played one leg but it wouldnt have made much difference as we were well beaten at home by Shangdong 3-1.

And thats that! Have mixed feelings about going I sort of enjoyed my time at South China but it was extremely easy to win almost everything. Dont really know what happend with my contract I wasnt fired so I guess they didnt offer me a new one, or I rejected it by accident not sure.

So am looking for a new club and I did find one, and in my next post you will see who it is! Again thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your comments and also updates from others doing this challenge!

Wow Ana, theres not much to be said about that. You just find it too easy!! You’ve dominated almost every competition and must have lost some luck with the Champions League draw. You should be very proud of your achievements. I can’t wait to find out who your managing next…you’ll build one hell of a CV!

ps check out the ‘top flight rankings’, your top by a mile!!! You can get there by hanging your cursor over the FM11 manager rankings tab and clicking the top link to ‘FM 2011 top flight rankings’. Well done.

      Thanks Darren,

I had a fun time in Hong Kong but if was very easy my next job is a real test and wont be as easy as the one at South China!

I never checked them until then I guess Hong Kong is a great place to boost your trophy count!! :)

Brilliant Ana, your team was so much better than everyone else again, and you’re building up an impressive trophy haul. Can’t wait to see who you’re now managing, but it should be quite a big side with such a CV as yours. Well done with Morocco too, your group isn’t easy as Ghana are a very good side, but I’m sure you’ll do well.

      Thanks Laxeyman,

Yeah my CV will be huge by the end of this challenge!

I guess its a hard group because I only have a few good players at Morocco, but its a nice change!

    Hi Ana
Your stop in China turned out to be a stroll in the park. Looking forward to seeing where you land up next.

      Thanks Kevin,

Agreed I was expecting a challenge but my team was just too good, my next job is a lot tougher!

Well done Ana, you did a fantastic job in Hong Kong and I think it was the right time for you to leave and seek a better job. To win the Asian Champions League, you really need to manage a South Korean team or an Australian team. This is what I’ve noticed from reading other people’s pentagon stories. I hope you get a good job next, you should with that huge CV you have. Good luck Ana.

      Thanks Sears,

Yeah, but I think in time I would have won the Asian champions league with South China I was definatly improving every year but it makes no difference now!!

Dont want to give too much away but my next team isnt what I was hoping for…….

      :)

I think you weren’t offered a new contract because you conceded far too many goals in the league!

      4 января, 2011 at 16:40

      Ha!

      Yeah maybe! :)

No idea what happened with my contract but their loss I guess!!

      :D

    Hey Ana

Great work on the challenge good luck. You are playing really well with Morroco lets hope they can keep the form up. Good luck

    • Ana Garcia

      4 января, 2011 at 16:42

      Thanks Birdy,

Morocco isnt what I was hoping for with only a handful of good players but it makes a change I guess!

Hey good work with South China, hope you can find a big challenge next.

Your Marocco´s group will be hard, and I think you will be 2nd with some luck, Ghana are great, Togo has Adebayor, from City and Angola has a pretty solid team, but I think you will make it! Good Luck!

    • Ana Garcia

      4 января, 2011 at 16:44

      Thanks Ricardo,

My next job is a bigger challenge than South China to be fair that may be the easiest job in the world!

Yeah the group will be tricky having seen the other teams we may struggle to qualify, but thanks for the luck we may need it.

      :)

That’s a great success you have achieved with South China. It’s a shame that you didn’t get a new contract. Looking forward for your next post with your new club!

    • Ana Garcia

      4 января, 2011 at 16:46

      Thanks Wazz,

Yeah dont really know what happend with my contract!

I should have my new post up soon with my new team, and am not too happy with where I am at!

Good job leaving Hong-Kong. I quit Hong-Kong because the league reputation was so poor they didn’t have a Champions League spot. I’m looking forward to seeing where you go next. I’m in the Chinese First division now, been given their top relegation candidate and am making sure they stay in the league. Promotion to the Superleague next season, perhaps, who knows?

      Thanks Will,

Leaving is probably for the best I wish I had selected China instead of Hong Kong but too late now!

My new club isnt exactly what I wanted but good luck on your adventure! Have you won any champions league yet or like me are you still trying to find a team that is able?

Still looking for the right team. It seems that if you’ve got a Sunday League Rep the top teams overlook you even if you’ve performed miracles with smaller clubs. Grrr, we’ll get there eventually. I’m looking forward to reading your next update. It’s my favourite story on here, because you never know where you’re going to end up next!

I agree 100%, trophies dont seem to improve your repuatation too much.

Thanks, it means alot that you are enjoying my story! Nice to hear how you are getting on too.

Congratulations Ana on another trophy filled season and definitely time to move to pastures new. One question though…haven’t you been offered contracts from bigger clubs? And what level is your rep at now?

I agree with Sears…you need to get yourself back to Korea or move to Australia….you cant leave the Asian Continent now you’ve spend sooo long there!

Well done on getting Morroco through to the African Cup of Nations…hopefully you’ll get some success.

COME ON ANA were dying to know where your next managers job is….so hurry up!!! :D

    • Ana Garcia

      5 января, 2011 at 17:32

      Thanks Pickard!

I havent had a single offer from any club…..

My repuatation is Continental and I had to apply to loads of jobs before I finally got offered one. I dont have Australia loaded so my best chance is probably South Korea!

I really dont like the Morocco team, so am not hoping for too much!

I should hopefully have my new post up tomorrow if everything goes well!!
