Published on

Hi!

So we say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 hopefully this year will be the best year yet! And what better way to start than an update in my challenge?! So lets have a look what happened in my most confusing year to date!

Career History :

— Cheonan (July 2010 – January 2013)

— South China (June 2013 – present)

Honours :

Hong Kong League Title : 2014, 2015 (South China)

Senior Shield : 2013 (South China)

League Cup : 2014, 2015 (South China)

Asian Confederation Cup : 2014 (South China)

Transfers In

Tan Si

So I made only one new signing and that was this back-up striker Tan Si. He may be Chinese but is not classed as foreign due to spending 5 years in Hong Kong.

League Results And Table Halfway Point

Boring or what?! We remain unbeaten and right on course to defend our league title.

So we are top which shouldnt be a real shock, but Sun Hei are much improved and for once I have a fairly big threat to think about. Most of their players are foreign but they have two very good Brazilian players one is as good as the best player I have in my team.

Mid Season Transfer Window

Tharles

So with a few of player gaining Hong Kong citizenship it freed up some foreign spot on my team, so I signed this Brazilian on a free transfer. He is a defensive midfielder but can also play at centre back and right back!

Zhao Yuming

Bought ths young Chinese full back knowing that it will only take a few years for him to become a Hong Kong citizen, payed a small fee of £30k to Shangdong and should be a good player in a few years.

End Of Season Table And Results

So we have remained unbeaten for two season which is a first for me! Despite not winning in our final three games we had already done enough to regain the league title. Sun Hei did have a good season but once again we were too strong and I had won my third league title in a row.

So my two strikers were in lethal form again getting 66 goals between them and my centre back Diego Martins scored 8 times. But was really pleased with all my players and was really looking forward to the new season.

I felt I could do a little better than last year however this is where the confusion set in!!

My contract at South China expired! I am pretty sure they didnt offer me a new one and if they did I may have accidently rejected it thinking it was an offer for one of my players. What ever the reason I am no longer contracted to them and am now unemployed!

I guess its a good thing as my aim at South China was to increase my reputation which I have done, and the league was really easy to win! But now I must find a new club which will be unveiled in my next post! :)

Morocco

So we beat these countries which allowed us to qualify for the next round of qualification for the upcoming world cup. Won every game but am not really too happy with my team.

This is our group for the African cup of nations that is on the horizon, and I honestly dont know if its a hard group or not!!

Cup Competition

The Senior Shield

The Final

So we won the senior shield with the most comfortable of wins, South Korean Jung Yoon-Sung with a hat-trick adding to Wang Bo’s penalty.

The Asian Confederations Cup

The Final

So if you remember I failed to qualify for the champions league so I automatically qualified for the confederations cup sort of the Europa league of Asia.  I went on to win the trophy again but the competition ran over into this season.

The League Cup

The Final

So we beat Citizen again and Digao must have a real problem with us as he was sent off again! We won the game with goals from Lam Ka Wai and a double from Tan Si to regain our league cup title!

The FA Cup

The Final

Well Citizen got the win they deserved! We beat them in two finals already this season so they claimed the FA cup. Bad game summed up by the amount of bookings we had.

The Asian Champions League

So despite our loss in the second round I was really pleased with how we performed. Jeju are a big South Korean club which we beat in both tie’s. I didnt know we only played one leg but it wouldnt have made much difference as we were well beaten at home by Shangdong 3-1.

And thats that! Have mixed feelings about going I sort of enjoyed my time at South China but it was extremely easy to win almost everything. Dont really know what happend with my contract I wasnt fired so I guess they didnt offer me a new one, or I rejected it by accident not sure.

So am looking for a new club and I did find one, and in my next post you will see who it is! Again thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your comments and also updates from others doing this challenge!
