Torquay United: Season End

Hello friends and welcome to my end of season report from the English Riviera. As you know we wrapped up the tiitle by the end of March so lets see how the last eight games played out.

Results

As we really had nothing to play for other than amass points the team actually performed quite well only losing two of the remaining games. Disappointingly hardly anyone showed up for our home games except for the final one against Notts County in which we finished up 3-1 winners in front of a passionate home crowd.

Club captain Nick Wroe who spent most of the season hitting the woodwork  got the opening goal that put us on the road to victory. A fitting way to end the season.

** If  this was Johnny’s Notts County I’m sure things would have been a lot different :)

The Final Table

Player Ratings

The top players were obviously my front pair on Barrowman and Benyon and even Subotic added in a very respectable 20 goals himself. Ryan Carolan who much was expected from end up my worse player but I’m going to keep him on nonetheless next season

Levi Porter and Nathan Ashton will probably be let go as well as defender Chris Robertson as he was the slowest of the back line and cost us a few goals throughout the year.

Finances at a glance ( not too encouraging)

I will focus on strengthening the back four during the summer and perhaps try to add a striker or two if the right players come along.  Another winger and a defensive midfielder would be nice additions also.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to bringing you my pre season report

Good job Kevin, 112 points is a great sum by any standards. My Notts County wouldn’t have given you so much ball possession, that’s a fact :)
I am a bit surprised by Carolan’s average rating but then again the player profiles are not identical in different games. There could also be several other reason but it might not be the right time to get into details. Congratulations again and good luck on the transfer market!

P.S.: United are doing pretty well against Newcastle…

      Thanks Johnny
It’s been a tremendous season for sure which hopefully I can build upon next season. Need a few new players but not too many I think.

Well done Kevin, you amassed a huge total of points and completely dominated, well done. Your strikers were fanatstic, and you scored a lot goals, which is always great. I’m looking forward to your pre season activities, and again, well done.

    Hi Kevin,

Sometimes i hope my wife will sleep longer but my son won’t allow me to play peacefully:) Great job there and i am looking forward to your venture in league 1. It will be tougher but after watching how you dominated league 2. I have full of confidence in your team. Enjoy your scouting as its what we are waiting for and enjoy the most too.

    Hi Zheljo
My backroom staff is very sparse. 4 coaches and three scouts at least so far.

    @ Laxyeman
Thanks a lot. Yes the forwards really did the business that’s for sure.

    @ Lye
Thanks for sharing about your family. That’s nice you have a son who you can slowly introduce to Football Manager :) I’m already well into pre season now and hope to bring the report soon though I have a busy day ahead. i have got carried away with new signings which I didn’t want to do!
