Real Union — The End

Hi all!

So this will be my last ever part on my Real Union story, its been a long journey considering I started this game in February of this year!

I will be going away on Friday to spend some time with my boyfriend its what we both need so wont be around to comment or talk until November the 6th when I will return hopefully with a new story!

So lets have a look at the final ever Union season.

———————————————————————————————————————————————

The Spanish Cup

So first up a dissapointment as we once again were beaten by Atletico Madrid who have been a great rival to me. I must say they comfortably beat us at Irueta Park and we won the away leg by a goal to zero. David trying to fight back but we just couldnt take another chance and my hopes of winning this trophy were gone!

La Liga Table And Results

A few away defeats at Valencia, Barcelona, Atletico, and Zaragoza gave the chasing pack a real chance to catch us up. We also dropped points against Recreativo, Cadiz and Almeria as our form dipped slightly as we won a couple of close games 1-0.

But did we manage to hold onto the league?

Just about! 5 points in the end but I feel that the next season would have been even closer as sides are starting to close the gap on my Real Union side.

We would need alot of new faces but at least we managed to hold onto the league title for our 6th in a row and our 7th in total it also took me about 6-7 years to build a side that could challenge the top clubs but a challenge I have more than enjoyed!

Hopefully the new manager will continue on with my hard work!

The Champions League

So we are into another final and our fourth in total we have won two and lost one so was hoping for the right result against the 2024 winners Chelsea. Inter proved a tough test in Italy but we dominated the home leg whilst AC Milan were even harder but again we just squeezed past with David’s goal in Italy.

Lyon were defeated next with Flavio sealing our passage into the final with a stunning volley 18 minutes from the end.

The Champions League Final

Well the Turkish heat didnt help either side as we were pushed all the way by a very good Chelsea team. In normal time both sides created chances but keepers were in top form saving both teams on several occasions.

In extra time I really want to try and get a winner knowing that I dont have great luck with penalties and fearing a defeat I pushed Atuxta forward into the heart of my midfield, usually the holding player he crashed in a wonderful 25 yard strike in the 112th minute before I resorted to a very defensive formation.

My side held on well and we retained the champions league for the first time in our club’s history!

Final Player Ratings Ever!

So David remains the best player at the club scoring 50 in 52 games very unrealistic but not alot I can do about it. Cesar has been the perfect partner for him and despite injuries he still managed 32 in 36 and the deadly partnership continues to flourish.

Zhandanovich probably wasnt worth the huge amount I payed for him but injuries cost him and restricted him to alot less games than I would have hoped for Flavio was as reliable as ever but was pleased with my whole squad!

Sad Part!!

So shortly after the champions league win I ended my 17 years at Real Union with a tear in my eye (Not really but was a little bit sad!) by far my most favourite game I have ever played. 9 members of my staff including Kramaric also walked away as a show of loyalty to me!

It gives me a chance to now focus a 100% on the up and coming world cup.

So before I leave this story I must conclude the world cup where my Brazilian side are amongst the favourite’s to win. I wont show my squad I picked to long! But I gambled a little picking 5 players who had never been capped on the Real Union side Gauchino (My former GK), Flavio (DMC), Marcao (DC) and Julio Cesar (CF) all made the 23 man squad.

The Group Stage

Without going into every game played you can see that we comfortably progresed into the next round. France were first but they we far from the team that lifted the trophy in 1998 and with beat them with Union’s Cesar on the scoresheet.

The USA and Australia were also beaten without too much trouble, Cesar scored a hatrick against the Aussies (Who I love! The accent is very sexy I find! :)) and the USA with two centre backs scoring in Beto and Julio Cesar (Not Real Union one!) next round we would meet Italy.

The World Cup Second Round

The world cup was held in England and to make Kevin happy, they are the current holders aswell! They beat our oppositon in the final 4 years ago and I must say they were a very good team.

We were one down after 38 minutes when worldclass AC Milan striker Gatti opened the scoring with a well placed finish. I thought the game was over on 55 minutes when Renan haulded down Pufal allowing the Italians a penalty, however 33 year old Arsenal midfielder Veratti was denied by a fantastic save.

Then a superb comeback was sparked into life by midfielder Edinho who latched onto a Souza pass to give some hope, which was almost dashed seconds later when striker Toninho was red carded for an elbow on the Italian centre half. But in the 87th minute Souza struck a world class freekick into the top left hand corner to give the most unexpected victory!

We held on despite Gatti hitting the post in the 6th minute of stoppage time!!

The Quarter Final

Well another amazing game! We met the Ukraine who had comfortably knocked England out in the previous round 3-0. Again we started badly and were down a goal when Tarasov ponnced on our lazy start, but were all square 10 minutes later when Alex won a penalty and defender Marcao (of Real Union!) stepped up to slot us back into the game.

We led through Union man Cesar then were equal again when Ushakov headed in from a freekick. Koz’ban was dismissed in the first half for a two footed challenge but made the Ukraine defend ever deeper. We just couldnt break them down so penalties is was!

Amazingly (for me at least!) we scored every one 9/9 made nice reading for someone who has the worst penalty luck! Volkov missing the vital pen for the Ukraine sending us into the semi final.

The Semi Final

Well Peru and done so well to get here, but their record against  Brazil wasnt great 19 games played and 19 straight Brazilian wins was made 20/20 after we easily beat them 3-1.

Julio Cesar (Real Union) and Leandro one of uncapped players gave us a two zero lead as Guiterrez pulled one back. Toninho made up for his read card shame by sealing the win in  the first half. However Elinton will miss the final after two stupid bookings he picked up.

The World Cup Final

Ok the final!

Now the final will be against the country I was born in the current real life holders of Spain. They too sailed through the group of Mexico, Holland and Peru.

They went onto beat Belgium in the secound round with David scoring both of the goals, next up Turkey who were beaten 3-1 by the Spanish despite being 1-0 down after 3 minutes thay battled back to claim the win.

The Semi however was a massive game for my Brazil side, they met the USA and in normal time had two men sent off both Union players! First Unai Atuxta was dismissed then the big news that Spanish striking legend and Real Union record holder David would miss the final after being sent off for the first time in his career!

They managed to sneak through on penalties but at a cost including two of their biggest stars.

Well without David they showed nothing in attack, and my front two of Toninho and Julio Cesar sealed the win and Spain had no answers. Manuel’s frustration boiled over and his dismissal ensured that we would be world cup winners.

It was a terrific tournament against Italy I thought I was out and against the Ukraine it was a case of looking through my fingers as each penalty was taken!

But in the end I feel we probably deserved to win and I resigned shortly after.

Finally Manager Stats And The Hall Of Fame

Yay! Number 1 despite winning alot less trophies than my rival Alex Ferguson I guess la liga is now better than the premiership! :)

So thats it! The end, I would just like to thank everyone who has read my story and to anyone who has left a comment or email telling me how much they have enjoyed reading it. Thanks also to Johnny for letting me post here and to everyone on the site for being very nice to me and treating me with respect and not being rude because I am female!

I will return with a new story hopefully, but am still a little unsure of who to manage! I guess when I get the game I will make my choice then,

thanks everyone and for now goodbye.

      Sexist??

I dont think it was to be honest I have posted my story at other places and the reaction I got when they found out I was a girl was shocking tbh.

Rude comments, lies about me, horrible messages etc I was just thanking the readers on this site for treating me as an equal and keeping the comments about my story as opposed to my gender or who I am.

Nothing sexist in that I dont think but am sorry if anyone who reads thinks I was being sexist in any way.

Let’s face it Jean Paul, lots of men tend to be rude towards females, that’s a fact. I’m very happy that such things didn’t happen here though, that means we have an educated readership :)

    Hi Ana,
I disagree with Jean Paul Borg, and anyone else who thinks you were being sexist. I don’t think that it was sexist at all. Personally, I think it’s great that women are interested in soccer too not just men. As you’ve said, you’ve been through a lot on your old blog but the guys here aren’t like that. Anyway, thanks for a wonderful story. I really enjoyed it and I admire how you stayed with just ONE team through all of FM10. Also nice to see that someone has finally overtaken Alex Ferguson regarding the hall of fame. Again, thanks for a fantastic story and I can’t wait to see your story about FM11.

    Hi Ana,
Great ending with the Champions League, League and World Cup wins, what you’ve done at Real Union is amazing. You deserve to overtake Ferguson as the best manager, well done. Thanks for the story and have a good time away.
