Real Union — 17 games Into 2021!

Hi everyone!

With Barcelona beating Sevilla last night and needing to only beat Valladolid on Sunday to be crowned champions I am in a very good mood! So I can happily bring you my new update on my Real Union story!

So here we go!

The Spanish Super Cup

The season began perfectly with our first trophy of the season, beating Valencia 5-1 in total. David and Castaignos shared the goals as we comfortably beat them giving us alot of confidence going into the new season.

La Liga Results And The Table

We began brilliantly with Linardos scoring twice on his debut.  We also hammered Real Madrid 3-0 at home, we drew away at Atletico but just managed to beat Sevilla away with the rest of the results were pretty routine wins for my team.

So we lead by 5 points in our persuit to retain our la liga title. We have also scored 52 times in 17 games and defended well with only 14 against.

Atletico are already along way of the pace, as the age of Balotelli and Aguero get ever higher! It seems Barcelona and Valencia are our biggest threats this season. Valencia had won 12 straight games at the beginning of the season.

The Champions League

We have never failed to qualify from the group stage, and that was extended after we were handed a fairly easy group.  5 wins put us through again, as we meet Udinese in the knockout stage. Another good tie for us as we avoided many of the bigger clubs.

At Shakhtar I played a different formation but failed! So we only drew 1-1.

You may also notice against Benfica that our first goal scorer was Romero! Yes!! my goalkeeper scored a fluke from his own half to give us the lead and it was really funny watching it go in! His first goal in 488 games!! :)

The Spanish Cup

Again I tried a different formation for both games, which backfired so am just going to stay with the one we have played for so many years. Wingers are not good for me!

We did beat them to go through but I and the fans expected a bigger margin and alot more goals.

But we will face Mallorca in the next round and I suppose it dosnt matter about the results provided you are winning!

Player Ratings

Castaignos remains world class and I highly recommend that you buy him! I have on the three games I have played and he has always been wonderful. Infact on my Roma game he was even better than my Real Union game!!

Linardos has settled well and scored goals, and Luis Lopez Fernandez continues to boss the midfield. Velasco (My little Puyol!) continues to perform well and show the desire to lead this club forward. He is 28 now and I have had him since he was 16!

Azparren has become unsettled due to transfer bids and his form has dipped, and Kramaric is again returning from injury. But all in all am very pleased.

So thats our start, as we push to win more silverware this season. I would love to retain the league and we are right on course to do so.

But its the champions league I want, and am going to give it everything in order to try and win it. To be honest I rarely win it on any game I play and along with injuries and penalties it seems to be another curse I have!

But am determined to get past that and get my players to lift it! Can we?  Well keep following to find out!

Now that I’ve tried your tactics on one of my saves I really am impressed with how you play. You are my new Attacking football guru.
It’s like the old ‘Gung-ho’ setting on older editions of Championship manager, which usually went your way too.

I’m pleased with how I play with Caen but your setup is so fun and eventful and i totally understand how you can keep playing for so many seasons in a row.

    Hi Ana
Fantastic results as usual though Atletico Madrid still seems to be your nemesis in the Spanish League. However you are on course to retain that title and I do hope you lift the Champions League Trophy this season.

@ Lye — Thank you, am so pleased that we are finally in a postion to challenge for tropies on a regular basis. Lets hope for the champions league!

@ Sears — Thank you for the luck, we made need it if it goes to penalties! Am fairly hopeful of beating Udinese over two legs.

@ Majk — Ha! Thanks! Yeah I love attacking and scoring goals, my team really love the way we play and I dont know why I try to change it. I will be keeping it for many season I think!

@ Kevin — Thanks Kevin, yeah Atletico are really hard to beat at home. If I remember I will post a screenshot of our history against them and at the Calderon, and well our record is pretty dire!
