Hello folks! I did some scouting work today, part of it for my Vauxhall Motors game but most of it was in order to compile a shortlist with the very best free players available in Football Manager 2011! I did some searching and scouting and the result is a shortlist of 29 free players that could be well worthy of a contract in a decent Premier League or Championship side. There are loads of free players available but I did my best to select the most competitive of the bunch.
Before listing the players you must know that these players were found on a test game with all English leagues selected and a large database. You will find next to each player’s name the contract that he would want, you can always get one of these players for less but since they are chased by many clubs I guess you could end up paying even more. On another quick note, the players will be presented with the very best ones for each role coming first. Let’s get it going then:

I never tried not to use real player names and, to be fully honest, I don’t really see why anybody would try that.

nice list. im also doing a derby game like hils. Darius Vassell aint to bad as a back-up striker for championship. i would like to ask how do u manage to find your romanian gems like from fm10? i dont no where to start looking, any advice?

I had selected to load all Romanian players before the FM 10 game so the choice was quite varied. I can’t really tell you where to start looking because you don’t know Romanian football like I do, so it would be quite tough to find your way around.

fair enough, may just have a sit down an just study the romanian leagues and see what i can find. i used to do this an games a long time ago but havent bothered in recent games.

I from Romania and so fare i found 2 very good romanian players: Liviu Ganea and Gabriel Torje, both from Dinamo Bucharest.

oh and btw I’m a Craiova fan too. unfortunately our club has been going through a big crisis over the past couple season bc the mititelu (the owner) is an idiot and the players just seem lazy and don’t care… it’s a shame to see the club that was such a great force in the past (mostly 70s and 80s) be reduced to almost nothing and now relegated to the second division… we should be fighting for the title and decency in Europe… and it’s not just Craiova that’s been having problems in football, it’s the whole country, including the national team. I just hope in a few years everything will be fixed… what else can I say :p

Salut Filip! I share your thoughts and sadness concerning Craiova, the club is going down the drain and it seems that it’s a one-way ticket… Being in the second division doesn’t look so bad at the moment though, there is a real chance that it will go further down or even disappear altogether. We’ll have to wait and see but I admit I’m not hoping for too much at the moment.

Febian Brandy — English Striker released by Man U, scored 18 in 22 games as a lone striker
Devann Yeo — American winger
Sebastian Carole — French Left Midfielder
Christian Nannetti — Italian Winger
Ibrahim Sissoko — Ivorian (?) Defensive Midfielder
Kevin Nichols — English Experienced Defensive Midfielder

A great wonderkid free striker is Marko Livaja! However, he’s got a global ban till the start of the 11/12 season so you’ve got a bit of a wait to officially sign him. Oh well, its the potential that matters…

I have no idea about the reputation of the Indonesian league and I don’t know any local players either. However, I think that your best perspectives should be in Brazil because there should be loads of cheap or free players there who might be willing to join your club.
