Football Manager 2011 Officially Unveiled!

It finally happened, Football Manager 2011 has been officially announced today! The game will be released before Christmas 2010, no exact date announced yet.

One of the major additions to the game will be that managers will be able to negotiate contracts with players in real time. Football agents will also enter the game and they will have the personality and abilities of their real-life correspondents.

Miles Jacobson also reveals another improved section, the training one: “The training system for example has always been the best we thought it could be, until now. We’ve found a way to make it even better!

The media module will be revamped and more customizable. Dynamic league reputation will also be implemented, a feature that many of you wanted to see in the game. Last but not least the 3D match module will be dramatically improved, there will be new animations, new player models, new stadiums, pitch textures, improved lighting, floodlit night matches, more goal celebrations and a few other features. You can read the whole official announcement here.

The new box cover has also been released, here it is:

    So far so good mate, quite interesting features. I think there will be more coming. For board request, i hope they can add «Build a new stadium» which my Thurrock stadium is unable to expand now. I am especially looking forward for the new training features.

      There will also be improvements regarding the interaction with the board, I’m sure that we’ll have more announcements coming from Sports Interactive in the next few weeks.

        i have 1 question regarding my shrewsbury game. before the match in the opposition instructions screen i cannot click the ask assistant button. why is that?

          There could be 2 causes:
          1. You don’t have an assistant manager.
          2. Your opponent is not very well known, so your assistant doesn’t know much about those opposition players and as a consequence he doesn’t have any opposition instructions to suggest.
          However, that won’t happen on a regular basis.

            i have an assisting manager, hes on a month to month contract, his attributes aren’t good tho, man management 15, determination 14, judging 11, others are under 10.
            one more question johnny. can i have 2 or more parent teams. i think not, but i figured ill still ask.

    I’m getting excited!! I always say the best part of christmas is getting the new FM. However I’d be slightly wrong as I’m always there to collect it on the release date before xmas. Anyway, the new features sound great. Its amazing how they can just keep adding more and more detail. I heard rumours about them making attribute masking compulsary. In other words you would have to scout some players to see their stats. Although this would be more realistic I think it would be pointless. Do you know if this is true Johnny?

      Darren, that’s just a rumor now but I don’t think it will happen. We have to wait and see :)

    @Zheljo
    No, you can’t have more than one parent club. And that parent club has to be in a different league than the one your team is in.
