This is something many of you have requested and I’m happy to report that your wish will come true: transfer deadline day in Football Manager 2013 will be nearly as exciting as its real life counterpart, if not better. You will be able to follow all the media hype that is usually present on transfer deadline day and you can also take part by releasing comments to the media about particular transfers.
I won’t reveal much before the video, just that transfer deadline day will be a lot different than the other days in the game. Over to Miles Jacobson for the full description:

Here are the previously announced new features in Football Manager 2013:
Head of youth development – the man who will make sure that you recruit the best youngsters in your region but also manage your youth team
Chief scout – the man who will filter the various scout reports, presenting you only the most viable options for transfers. This staff member can also handle assigning your scouts to specific tasks.
separate leaderboards for each game mode (full career, FM Classic, challenges).
separate leaderboards for nations/divisions.
sophisticated scoring system that takes into account trophies, goals scored, but also the initial reputation of the club that you achieved those results with.
fully integrated with Steam, you will be able to compare your score to those of your Steam friends.
manager wages count towards the points you earn, so now there’s a point in negotiating a higher salary with your club.
much easier to set up, network games will run through the powerful Steam servers.
you have the possibility to export your team from single player mode into a network game. This way you can play against one of your friends regardless of which season your team is playing in the single player mode. For instance, I could play with Viitorul Constanta against Darren’s Scarborough or Kevin’s Toronto FC!
agree on match view settings before the actual game, which avoids having the two players having different settings.
Really wanted deadline to be better this year and SI look like they have done a great job to improve it, it looks really good and even though I am one to try and conclude my transfers before deadline day I like the fact the day is longer just in case any deals to be made, I will be taking part all the time. :D
I reckon FIFA Manager has something of that sort, so I guess it`s natural that FM would eventually implement a better deadline. I hope it`s better than FIFA Manager`s one… which is not good at all!
Wow! This is one thing I thought they would just ignore as for some people, maybe those who didn’t watch football or deadline day, this wouldn’t be a big change. It’s a huge change for me, it just makes it brilliant and surreal and now maybe I’ll leave one or two transfers to the final day just for the fun of it :)
Such a shame Harry Redknapp is out of a job, he would’ve had a big impact
I rarely ever end up doing any business on transfer deadline day, but it’s good to see this because it needed something. The last patch took the current time away from showing in the top left corner for me, so a countdown is good, just in case they break the current date and time again at some point with a patch. ;)

I rarely conclude transfers on deadline day but I agree that this will probably be a spectacular addition.
