First Season Is Over!

The final part of my first season at Real Union, so here it is!

The Last Six Games

We had only a very slim chance to get the last promotion place but this was our best run of the season. Unbeaten in six games, with three wins gave us a great chance. Did we win promotion? Well have a look at the final league standings!

No! But we were very close! We needed 7 points due to our poor goal difference but regardless I was very proud of my team. Remember the media had predicted us to be 21st so I am more than happy with where we finished.

A look at the league shows what we are, 75 goals scored 60 conceeded. As I said earlier on, we can score goals but we do lose alot. Mostly mistakes but am confident that I can bring in some better players next season.

Our home record was the second best in the league winning 16 out of 21 games and the main reason we did so well.

A little snap shot of how bad we are the back, almost throwing our win away. But also you can see the Union goal scoring machine Gorka Brit! A wonderfull hat-trick inspired us to a win!

The Best And Worst

Ok, I will now pick my best 3 players of the season and the 3 worst with the reasons behind them.

Third Place — Best!

Richard

My midfield general! Bought in on a free from Khimki he has became a real leader in my team. Works very hard, he often breaks up attacks setting us on the counter leading to many goal scoring opportunities. He is now valued at £1 million pounds :D

Third Place — Worst!

Thiago Xavier

Really dissapointing, had big hopes for this player. Makes to many mistakes often giving possession away, on big wages too means he is the third worst player we had this season. May be sold in the summer.

Second Place — Best!

Walter Gaitan

My most creative player and the main reason we had such a good season, even in his early thirties he shows no signs of slowing down scoring and making assists to help guide our good season.

Second Place — Worst!

Juan Dominguez
Had better hopes that he could influence the game more with good pace and good composure, but always seems to go missing in games. Wastes chances and missed 5 penalties this season! Gives him the second worst player of the season.

First Place — Best!

The best player this season goes to……. Gorka Brit!!

A very easy choice for my top goal scorer, the fans also agreed with me voting him fans player of the year. My Spanish front man managed to score 24 times in 36 games, despite an injury that put him out for six weeks. Very prolific at this level.

First Place — Worst!

Inaki Descarga

Club captain was a huge let down, making mistakes and lost his place to Herrara. Never won it back he will not be offered a new contract in the summer. Stay away from this player!!

So thats the season over! Next season I will be selling some players and trying my very best to sign some really good ones. Hopefully we can build on this 6th place and prove this wasnt a fluke :D
