Hi everyone so I will now conclude my first ever season in charge on Coruxo, and show you those crucial playoff games so lets get going with the final games in May.

Well we had a chance to seal the league when we met Vecindario away however a very late goal cost us those celebrations. Again we fell behind when Nestor opened the scoring and we could have been further behind. Super sub Zurbano headed what I thought was a late equaliser on 86 minutes but our leaky defence was broke again as Gonzalo struck an 89th minute winner!
So celebrations were on hold, we only needed a point to seal the league and we managed that against Cacereno at home but again more late goals cost us. Once again we fell behind when Sergio scored and we have been verry poor in the first half of our matches, but Germinale nicked the ball and crossed to Carlos who found the net again. Then we took the lead when a Jacobo cross was met by Raul Sanchez but again we lost concentration allowing Aaron to steal a late equaliser, despite that we secured the league title!
We finished the season on a real high with a fantastic home win against Cerro Reyes. Alberto Garcia opened the scoring with a good close range header, then Jacobo crossed again for Germinale to head in our second. Then Jacobo crossed again, the keeper fumbled and Antunez made them pay with our third. They pulled one back but no surprise that Carlos finished the scoring with another top finish.
So despite a stuttering end of season we managed to secure the title, and claim a playoff spot. We will meet the winner of division 3, Eibar who themselves secured the title with ease. The winner will seal promotion whilst the loser will fall into another round of playoffs. Its quite confusing but lets just say if we beat Eibar we are promoted. So without further ado here are those crucial playoff games :
We began at home against Eibar and to be fair we were very poor, only seven minutes a failed cross fell to Alex Garcia and he made it one zero. Then things got worse when Jacobo turned the ball into his own goal and we were two down after 20 minutes. Eibar missed a penalty but we gave ourselves a chance when Zurbano scored on 77 minutes, but we have a lot to do in the second leg.
Well we had to be a little more offensive as we needed to get back into the game but on 31 minutes we fell behind and q had a lot to do, Hadzic with the goal. However Geminale pulled one back five minutes later with a good finish. But their was only one winner and Eibar added more goasl through Garcia, and Uzerlai and they missed another penalty! Well fell into the 2nd stage of the playoffs against Atletico B!
The first game was away and we sealed a very positive result, despite giving another penalty away! Merino scored it just before half time. Zurbano equalised on 49 minutes but Atletico scored again and we were 2-1 down, but late on Germinale scored again to give us two away goals and a good chance of progression.
Amazing , is the word I will use and how we didnt win I dont know. We began well enough when Germinale fired us into a one goal lead but Atletico equalised with their first shot on target. Germinale made it 2-1 and we deserved it, but again Atletico scored with their second shot on target! Quini scored a rare goal to make it 3-2, but we failed to hang on and with their third shot on target Atletico sealed the win on away goals!
So we failed to win promotion, which is a shame as we won the league! Our form was poor going in and our poor defence let me down letting too many goals, but at least I can build on a better squad for next year.
So Carlos was the star with his goals this season but Germinale was fantastic also in helping create a host of chances for him. Jacobo was excellent aswell and Sanchez was great at the back, we just had too few players and that I believe this is what cost us promotion this season.
I will be looking for some better players next season to hopefully push for promotion again, but we will spending another season here!
At least my fans love me! I am already on the favoured personnel list which is something I guess but I will be making some changes next season and trying to get rid of my poorer players, I have found a really good scout so hopefully he can help me find some good players for next season.
Thats it I’m afraid! We won the league but didnt win promotion and not many sides can say that! So we will spend another year here and hopefully we can push again for the playoffs.

You were very unlucky Ana, those play off rules are ridiculous. Regroup during the summer and along with a few new players I’m certain you’ll win the play offs next season. Good luck!

I agree Sears, they are a bit annoying but we should have beaten Atletico B and progressed further. Yeah am planning on getting rid of a some players and have already found some better replacements!

Unlucky Ana, I agree with Sears that those play off rules are stupid. Hopefully you can get promotion next year though, as you’ll have a stronger squad I’m sure. Good luck!

What an injustice!!! Those rules are just awful. I’m a big fan of play-offs but the top side should gain automatic promotion in my opinion. You don’t need to do much going forward but I think your defence needs a shake up as they cost you a lot of goals. Look forward to next season and retribution.

In honesty I am not a fan of playoffs, and hate them even more now!
I agree at the back we were poor so will be looing to sure up that area, and bring in one or two better midfield players also. Goals are fine like you said will do my best to gain promotion next season!

Oh, such a shame… Eibar seemed too strong for your side but you were very unlucky against Atletico B… Well, it’s time to bring in a few more quality players and dominate the league next year, I’m sure that’s what will happen!

Yeah Eibar were far the better team, in all honesty we would have struggled to beat any of the league winners.
I have a good scout now so hopefully can find some better players for next season!

I had the Sangria and Tapas ready to celebrate Coruxo gaining promotion but had no idea that winning the league was not a sure thing to go up. Well, that’s a tough way to end the season but no doubt you will be back with a stronger team who can push through the play offs.

I agree with the other guys, which peabrain decided to introduce a rule for champions having to play a play off?!! Absolutely ridiculas!
Anyway, there is a slight advantage for you and that is you can make your team even stronger which will be helpful once you get promoted (hopefully)

It is harsh, especially for the league winner to enter promotion I guess it makes it more exciting though.

How bad, hard to get promotion. It is more difficult for the smaller teams to develope there I can see.
It sort of reminds me about the mexican league.

Hi Ana,
Like Kevin, i thought winning the league means going up. I have prepared the champagne for celebration. Not familiar with Spanish lower league rules but that is certainly harsh. I believe you will come back stronger next season. One positive thing is the fans like you. It means you will be there as long as you like. Good luck for next season.

Why did you bother to look up websites like this so if you think we’ve no life? We play FM to enjoy it, and as everyone can see the FM community is expanding all the time. So in fact we do have a life, but we spare a few hours here and there to play Football Manager. I believe it’s called a hobby.
