Coruxo FM 11 : The End Of Season 2016

Hi everyone!

So the sun is finally out! So I am really enjoying the sunshine so I hope its just as nice where you live! I will bring the new post to my Coruxo story which will conclude season 2016.

If you remember from my last post we were having a better season as we were in 8th position after 15 games so did we manage to keep in the top half or did we slip down the league to relegation places?

Read on and find out!

——————————————-

January Results

So January is always a tricky month for me, balancing the sale of players and trying to settle the new ones usually means an inconsistant run which once again rang true. We started with a home point against Osasuna with Ibrahimovic scoring the equaliser.

I am really starting to hate Betis on my game, for some reason they always beat me home and away! We slumped to a poor four two away defeat  but bounced back with a great away win at Valencia with Karacan scoring a very rare goal.

A dissapointing home draw was then followed by a fantastic four zero victory of Real Sociedad, my right back Edu scored his first ever goal with Ibrah and Henrique both adding goals. Atienza completed the scoring with a fine header from a corner.

February Results

February was a really good month for my team as we claimed three wins, the first a comfortable away win against Getafe. The usual two of Henrique and Ibrah scored either side of a wonderful Pedro strike his first for Coruxo.

Vuckic scored a late winner to beat Tenerife and then scored twice as we beat Villarreal by four goals to one Atienza scoring two headers the first from a freekick the second from a corner. Defeat against Real Madrid was expected we didnt help ourselves giving away some very poor goals.

March Results

Xavi the manager of Sevilla!! One of the things I hate about this game but at least he admires me! However I think he led me on and I was thinking I had a chance with my dream man then his side beat me two zero! How could he! :)

Having gotten over that dissapointment, we then earned a hard earned point at the Nou Camp. Ibrahimovic struck twice as we came back from a goal down to beat Sporting and Denilson scored a rare goal as we beat Valladolid.  We completed the month beating Zaragoaza four goals to one and we remain is sixth place and a possible place in Europe.

April Results

Our quest for Europe nose dived in April after a series of pretty bad results, it started well enough as we got a great away point against Atletico Madrid and a point with fourth placed Almeria.

But a defeat at Bilbao followed another against, yes my curse team Real Betis but Atienza saved the final game of the month scoring twice as we beat Racing. I also made another transfer a freebie who joined the club straight away here he is :

Pablo Piatti

So the window may be closed but you can sign free transfers at any time and having the month we did I decided to bring Piatti to Coruxo to inject a little bit of quality.

He is a wide man who can play upfront but is more of a Messi type player than a winger he likes to cut inside and has a good left foot. Good pace and quite tricky he should be a good player for my team.

May Results

OMG! I hate this game at times! We missed out on Europe by a point and easily could have won all our games in May. Am not sure how we dint win at Espanyol as we hit the post three times and had two goals ruled out for offside, the same story at Osasuna but they scored two goals to compound my dissapointment.

We missed a late penalty against Valencia so could only draw but we were clinical at Gimnastic as we scored five times with a double from Sena and Henrique.

But it wasnt enough and in the end it was just more bad luck but at least we comfortably survived this season and can push on for the next one.

Final Player Ratings

So a look now at how my players fared this season as Atienza leads the way, a great defender who can pop up with some goals when we need them and is a threat from any ball cossed into the box.  Denilson is our playmaker and he does it very well and Henrique was very good again scoring 14 times.

Pedro and Piatti settled in very quickly and both performed well and Valiente was also fanastic at the back alongside Atienza. Sena struggled with his big money move but I have confidence in him and was very happy with most of players, Ibrahimovic had a pretty good season too scoring 16 times.

So thats it! In the end I was very pleased with my season but it would have been better if we had got to Europe but it just wasnt meant to be. At least we have a good squad to build on and have put our relegation fears behind us. Am hoping I can keep the players who are wanted and maybe add a few more quality players for next season.

Again thanks for reading and will post an update to my other story next time, bye bye!!

    Hi Ana
You were a bit unlucky at the end in the season but the next season I think you can reach europe. Pablo Piatti is a great transfer. I had him at Bayern Muenich, I played him as a poacher
and he scored 43 goals in 41 games

      Thanks Don,

You are right! Just a bit unlucky thanks for the tips on Piatti I bought him more as a wide man than a striker but may give your advice a go in pre-season to see how he does!

    Hey Ana
You were really unlucky there! You were so close to getting a European spot but it sadly did not happen. Ibrahimovic turned out to be an amazing signing. Good luck next season!

      Thanks!

It just wasnt meant to be!

I agree, Ibrahimovic was a gamble that did pay off but he wont sign a new deal so I will lose him very soon!!

What a joke… FM really doesn’t want you to be successful Ana! I’m amazed how you didn’t finish in a European spot. Hopefully you can buy some good players during the summer and battle for a European spot again next season. Good luck!

      Thanks Sears!

Yeah, the game hates me! :)

Me too, to be honest we should have easily won more games in that final month but thats just the way it goes. A few new better players and we should be able to finish top six I feel.

Oh man, so close to the Europa League! I wouldn’t be too disappointed though, you’re in a difficult league and you hung tight with some of the biggest clubs in the world, and that’s an accomplishment in and of itself!

      Thanks Stomson,

You are right! We held our own despite being the smallest club in the league, so was happy in the end to finish were we did.

Just dissapointed that one point would have took us to Europe!

Xavi just wanted you to let your guard down :P Missing out on the Europa League was very unfortunate, you were very close but that’s how football works sometimes, you have to feel the pain before tasting the joy. I have a feeling that next season will be a big success for you and the club ;)

      Thanks Johnny!

Yeah Xavi led me on! But I still love him! ;)

Good point at the end we have felt the pain at just missing out so this season we must make sure to finish top six.

Unlucky Ana, but to be honest that was another great season. Amazing signing in Piatti and your boyfriend may not want to see that message from Xavi. :)

Next season can be used to build on this success and I feel like Europe is just a year away. Well done.

      Thanks Darren,

Ha! He knows my feelings for Xavi but he is fine with it! :)

I agree this was a good stepping stone for next season am just hoping I can keep my players so I can improve my squad.

Hi Ana,you were unlucky there!!!!!!!!!! I know how you you feel!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Very unlucky Ana, but still a good season. I hate it at times like this, you tend to look back at results as think «I could’ve won this» but don’t do that! Look to the future, next season you can build on this and look for a top 4 spot, with no European competition on your mind your league form will probably be better than if you had finished in a European spot. Good luck for the new season, I look forward to seeing your signings.

      Thanks Alex!

Your right! Best to look forward than back, and we will be able to build upon this good season.

Missing Europe by one point? That’s quite unlucky Ana, considering that you had a much better goal difference than the Sevilla and Villareal (looks like Xavi got the better of you this time)

Your squad is shaping up nicely, Pablo Piatti is a great signing for a free, signing a few more players next season could give you the edge, you probably need another DM, Palacios must be pretty old by now

      Thanks,

      Yeah he did!

I agree we need a fresher looking squad but I am quite loyal to my players so I will want to keep them. A few more quality players and we could push for Europe.

    Hi Ana,

Not bad on your debut season. It hurts to miss out on Europe but it will make you stronger. I believe you will be in Europe next season. Good luck.

    Haha Xavi you charmer.
Oo so close there Ana, gutted it didn’t come off for you this time.

A very good signing in Piatti, just hope you get more like that in over the summer. Europe next year, I can feel it :)

    Good luck!

    • Ana Garcia

      13 апреля, 2011 at 15:45

      Thanks Excessive,

Yeah and I fell for his charms! :(

Piatti was a great signing and with Pedro on the other side we have a really nice attacking setup. Just need a few more players to push for Europe next season!

    Hi Ana
Oh that’s really hard luck missing out on Europe by 1 point. If play offs don’t get you there always seems to be something else. Still, 8th place is a very respectable position for Coruxo and hopefully you can improve on that next season. Good luck!

      13 апреля, 2011 at 15:47

      Hi Kevin,

LoL! This new game is really testing me but I never have too much luck anyways!

I guess 8th is a good finish as we just about survived last time so at least we are improving! :)

oooo! So unlucky Ana! You just missed out however 8th place is a great position to be in. Piatti is a great signing, im sure he will shine next season! Good Luck!

hi ana :) a very late post but i just read your whole story and well done! But i was curious and why do you not post the copa del rey?

    • Ana Garcia

      8 мая, 2011 at 12:10

      Hi Aidan! :)

Thanks but I’m afraid this game has been corrupted (no idea how) and I dont have a back-up save so I’m afraid this story is over.

But to answer your question, as a la liga fan the copa del rey is sort of a nothing trophy and as such I just play my backup and youth players and try to get knocked out.

So I dont post the results as I usually get beat in the first or second round!!
