Coruxo FM 11 : Half Season Update

Hello!

Hope you are all well and I will bring you the update to my current season. It will take me forever to update month by month so I have decided that every season I will do up till January then post month by month until the season ends, just the quickest way I guess!

So without further ado, my new season updates :

August and September

I noticed that I cant get highlights from games with B sides, but we made the perfect start with an away win at Merida and will be my highlight game so you can see the goals!

We struggled next against Montaneros but beat Atletico B away and once again I was praised for my half time team talk! A Germinale header levelled the score whilst Carlos and Voavy both scored close range finish’s after setting each other up!

We destroyed Celta B, with two goals from my front three! I think they are having a competition on who can score the most goals! That followed another away win at Zamora with Voavy scoring after a great Zerbini cross.

Final game saw us hammer Pontevedra another highlight game so you can see the goals!

October Results

We began with a strong 4-0 win over Getafe B two more goals from Voavy a Carlos goal and his first club goal for Pepe Aicart our midfielder. Then a dissapointing draw away at Mirandes with no real action, then another win against Rayo B and a fantastic hatrick from sub Germinale determined to push out both Carlos and Voavy!

Guadalajara next, exciting game so made it my highlight choice if it worked (Got an error :(!), then our first defeat away at Palencia we gave everything just costly mistakes at key moments robbed us of a point. We bounced back though with a win at Jerez so highlights from that game.

November Results

So we opened with a poor draw against Lugo, Zerbini scoring early but we failed to deal with a corner and were punished late on. Castilla had some Real Madrid players in their team! Including Royston Drenthe who was valued at £4 million and on £45,000 a week, he made all three goals and we struggled to contain him!

We won at Ferrol who were having a great season, so was delighted to get the win Voavy’s pace was too much as he scored twice with Zerbini again finding the net. Finally we beat Gimnastica, a Mario O.G sent us on our way before Voavy made it two, we survived a late fightback to seal the win.

December Results

The perfect month as we sealed three wins, the first was against Badajoz and a Zerbini header was good enough for the win. Club Marino next who played very well, but we just about stole the victory after Carlos and Voavy had both scored, Zerbini again stepping up to seal the win with another fine goal.

Finally a fantastic win over Numancia that was alittle unexpected, so had to have it as my highlight game!

January Results

We kicked off the new year with a fine 4-1 win against Merida, my highlight game. Then we beat Montaneros with the prolific Carlos opening the scoring, and a second from a new scorer! Midfileder Alberto with a fine long range finish to seal the win.

We beat Atletico B again, with Zerbini scoring again and what a player he is and the towering Bernando scored his second in three games with a fine header from a corner. We finished the month with a defeat at Celta B, and to be honest we were well beaten 3-1.

The League Table

So despite a fantastic few months we remain five behind leaders Palencia. However we are now seven points clear of second placed Numancia so a really good start, we have scored goals and lots of them! With 56 in 23 games and the defence has been ok with only 23 against giving a difference of +33.

My front three have been excellent with Zerbini being my star at the moment, scoring alot of goals from midfield. Voavy has been an unexpected success and Carlos has been Carlos! Scoring goals and creating loads of chances for the other two mentioned. My midfield has been very good also, with Alberto who has been one of my best players.

January Transfers Ins and Outs

So sold a few players for good money, Borja and Manu have both been replaced with better players so sold both and got good money. Sold Zurbano as I dont need him with the goals we have, and sold Jacobo as I was planning on releasing him so at least I got something. I also made four new signings so lets take a look :

Stefan Jarosch

Had my scout in Germany and he found this very decent fullback, he was a free transfer so I snapped him up and quickly put him in my first team, pretty soild so am pleased with him!

Bjorn Bussmann

So I signed a second German so the other wouldnt feel unhappy! He is a goalkeeper and in my opinion a very good one at this level, only 20 so has lots of time to improve and my scout said he would be a decent liga adelente player! Again signed on a free transfer and will be my new number one.

Cameron Lindsay

So I have one eye on the future so decided to bring in this player who was released by Blackburn, is half English so negates any EU problems and my scout rated him 4 stars for potential and seeing as my scout has 19 I took his advice! Is already worth £130k and has fairly ok stats!

Jean Phillipe Delcourt

My final signing was another 4* potential defender! Delcourt again signed for the future and is a different kind of defender than Lindsay, hopefully in a few years he can improve if not I can sell him and get the club some money! Forgot to mention that both Lindsay and Delcourt were free transfers!

Thats about it for this update, we are in a strong position so far and are hunting down top spot again! We have a little work to do to make up the five point gap, but am confident with my two new German players and the squad scoring alot of goals we can claim top spot!

Then hopefully we can earn promotion in the playoffs! Still a long way to go so hopefully you enjoyed this rather long post! And fingers crossed that we can gain the promotion that we deserve! :)

Hey Ana, well done on a good start to the season. Your defence lets in a few goals every now and again but on the whole is much better than last season. Maybe finishing second could be better for you. I always find that the favourite tends to underperform in a play-off where as the under dog raises their game. It sounds crazy but been the underdog could have the positive effect your players need to go one further than last year. Anyway, well done on the tranfers as well…they should help strengthen especially that German full back. I like him a lot.

ps I have started an FM 2011 rankings table for lower league and top flight managers. Basically a way to see who is doing the best achievements wise and a bit of fun…I always follow your stories and can keep upto date on your achievements so would you like to be entered Ana? You wouldnt need to update me with your trophies as I always read your posts anyway. The link to read about it is here. http://allthatisfootballmanager.com/2010/11/all-new-football-manager-2011-rankings-how-good-are-you/

Good start Ana, with such goalscoring power you should grab the top spot sooner or later. The new signings look very good so I guess things can only get better in the decisive months of the season. Good luck!

      Thanks Johnny,

Yeah hopefully my side can continue on scoring as we are in great form at the moment. Long way to go but if I can avoid injuries I have a great chance at the league title I think!

Am really pleased with him, I find if you sign two players of the same nationality they settle a lot easier!

Enjoying reading your game Ana, which Alberto did you get rid of? The goalkeeper or the midfielder?

    Hi Damon,

Thank you am glad you are enjoying it! :)

Alberto was the goalkeeper he was really poor so just got rid of him.

Wow… pretty good selection of recruits there. I have two of the players for my newly Liga BBVA promoted Gimnastic de Tarragona.
    1. Bjorn Bussmann acts as my back up keeper. He is now dubbed the new Jens Mustermann (Oliver Kahn) after only being with my team for half a season.
    2. Jean Phillipe Delcourt, is currently playing for my reserve team. Would like to see his development before placing him in my 1st team.

Good luck with your football manager career. That’s a really great run you have achieved there.

    All the best~
