Coruxo FM 11 : February and March 2012

Hi everyone!

Just noticed I havnt updated in a while, so I will do a bumper double month to catch myself up a bit! No highlights due to my PC being stupid! Hopefully I can fix it (or my friend if I being truthful!) so I can get them back. So here are the results from February and March

—————-

February

So the month began with a home game against Zamora who were a tricky mid table side. The game was pretty poor and to be fair we could have easily lost the game, but an Alberto corner was met my our giant Columbian Bernando who gave us a hard earned three points.

We improved for the next game another home game against Rayo B, only two minutes on the watch when our man from Madagascar latched onto a dreadfull error to fire us into the lead. On 16 minutes Zapater turned the ball into his own goal and were two up. Tony Mamodaly was next to convert into his own net and we were three up after 35 minutes.

Mata pulled a consolation back but Alberto curled in our fourth from twenty yards to seal a fantastic 4-1 victory and another three points.

Next up was a dissapointing away day at Pontevedra, we lost two zero and could have been a few more. I knew things were bad when Carlos missed a penalty which could have made the last 20 minutes more interesting, but a defeat it was.

Bouncing back is something we are very good at, and once again we did away at Getafe B. A double from Thomas Zerbini as he latched twice onto two crosses from Carlos and Pepe Aicart scored a rare goal to seal a 3-0 away win.

March

March began badly after we fell to a home defaet against Mirandes, despite dominating the game we just didnt take any chances and we also missed another penalty, Carlos again failing from twelve yards.

We seem to enjoy playing away! As we beat Guadalajara very comfortably after the dissapointment of our last home game. Zerbini opened the scoring on 39 minutes after a wonderful run and finish, but we let the lead slip just before half time.

But Zerbini added his second and sub Saric sealed the points and another away win for my side.

A massive win next against our rivals for the top Palencia. The game wasnt terrific but we got the win with the a goal from the most unlikeliest of players. Full back Stefan Jarosch lashing a wicked cross shot on 16 minutes for his first goal for the club.

Final game of the month saw us beat Lugo at home, I took Carlos off penalties and the new taker didnt let me down as Germinale stepped up on 20 minutes after Carlos was fouled. Carlos then met a Germinale cross to header past the keeper on 72 mintes to give us another win.

So after a couple of good months we find ourselves top by 8 points and right on cousre to win the league, and seal a playoff for promotion. Goals have been very easy to find with my top three, also getting a minimum of 15 each and the defence is so much better than last year.

So with only seven games left to play we have everything in our own hands, which is exactly how I would like it!

We have a very hard run out away at Castilla, Jerez, Gimnastica and Numancia so hopefully we can gain enough points to seal the league!

Hmmm……

Finacially the team is in a bad way, almost £800k in debt and losing money every month. Hoping that we can sort the debt out soon and I may have to sell a few star players to help us out a bit.

Promotion may be critical for the long term of survival of the team, so am hoping we can qualify for them and win them to get the club some much needed money!

So thats it, next month we will try to seal the league and I will also bring you the results from the dreaded playoff’s! Until then happy reading and am so happy that the snow is finally going from my area! I can hopefully now get to work!

Hey Ana, another good set of results has left you almost touching the play-off. I really hope you go up this season. The finances are problem, but hopefully a higher league can straighten that out. Otherwise you may be struggling in the transfer market. Im looking forward to your big play-off, goodluck.

Well done Ana, that was a good couple of months and it now looks like you’ve all but sealed you play off spot. Hopefully you can go one better than last season and get promoted, judging by the worrying fianancial situation you’re in, you might need it to survive. Good luck!

      Thanks Laxeyman,

Yeah almost there, I think I can win the playoffs as my team are a lot stronger than last year. But anything can happen!

The play-off spot should be secured in a couple of games, good job! Then you will have the opportunity to rest some players for the final games, I’m sure you’ll get promoted this time! Maybe there will be some TV rights money in the higher division, that would balance the budget a bit. Good luck!

      Thanks Johnny,

Yeah hopefully if we get promotion we can survive off the TV and league winning money, at least enough to let me sign a few players.

    Hi Ana!
You have gotten some good results there, that has helped you move up to the top place. Good job! Lets hope that you will get promotion, so you can handle this financial crisis.

Like I said pretty hard for teams in the lower leagues to develope, if they have to always play in play — offs to get promotion, instead of getting promotion directly.

The bigger clubs get preferential treatment by this is I think.

    Keep it up! ;)

      Hi Aguila,

      Thanks! :)

Agreed, Spain is pretty harsh on the lower leagues I have found that out numerous times on my games. We may have to sell a few star names to help the club out.

We really need a stadium expansion, extra seats and hopefully extra income but I cant see that, not for a while anyway. :(
