Hi everyone! Hope you are all well and for this post I will conclude my season in my hope of sneaking a playoff position. We have already had a special season but could it get even better? Well read on and find out!

The first game of the month saw us comfortably beat Alcorcon at home we played very well and took the lead on the stroke of half time with the brilliant Carlos opening the scoring. He then doubled our lead with a close range effort on 67 minutes then Kevin Berigaud wrapped up the scoring to make it 3-0.
Albacete next and once again the brilliant Carlos stole the show with a fine double. Dani Carvalho with a defence splitting pass and there was Carlos to fire in the opener. He then smashed in a penalty after Kaka was fouled to seal another away win.
Next up was another fine away display by my team this time at Alaves. We took the lead from Martin Diaz who rose unmarked from a corner but Mista equalised after some bad defending. It was the home side who struck next Mista again, but Berigaud’s goal got us an away point.
Next up was a big game against Hercules and we were edged out of a very even game. Portillo had given Hercules a lead but a fine Carvalho freekick evened the scoring. An own goal from my usually very reliable keeper Cabrero meant we left we nothing.
The big games kept coming as we faced Levante next at home, we were gifted the opening goal when Munua put the ball into his own net and the prolific Berigaud added another on 52 minutes for a massive victory. So we were still right in the mix for the playoff’s and with only two games left it was going to go all the way.
May Results
Our first game of the month was against Girona and we showed our true football style by comfortably beating them. Unlikely first goal scorer as Pacciardi reacted well in the box to open the scoring then Carlos added a penalty a late own goal sealed a three goal victory.
Our final league game saw us travel to Barcelona At in another must win game and we gave them a footballing education with our best performance of the season. A sublime Berigaud hat-trick followed goals by Diaz, Germinale and Thomas Zerbini.
Final League Table
We did it! We just about got in and it was Hercules who missed out. I must admit we had a fantastic end of season and re-found our scoring touch to great effect. We would meet Levante in the playoff semi final as we tried to push for promotion!
Playoff Semi-final First Leg
Well that was a really bad result, we would have it all to do in the away game and despite playing ok we just couldnt find a goal. We created some excellent chances but my players just didnt want to score! Will my playoff curse strike again???
Playoff Semi-final Second Leg
Close, very close but when the pressure was on it was the amazing Carlos who lost his nerve lashing the ball high into the crowd from the penalty spot. My bad luck in the playoff’s struck again as we were beaten but I was still very happy with my team!
Next was a little bit of irony as Levante manged to win the playoff final they had won promotion and then this came into my news! :
The cheek of it! They beat me in the semi’s then try to poach me away just because they are now in la liga! I rejected the offer, it was a bit tempting but it wouldnt be much a Coruxo journey if I left now! My chairman was delighted I declined the offer hopefully he will give me some extra transfer money for the new season as a reward! ;)
Final Player Ratings
Amazingly my two centre back were my best players, Kaka was a revalation and has quickly became one of my favourite players on the new game. Diaz was fantastic also and both Carlos and Berigaud were very good at scoring goals.
Also I must mention Daniel Carvalho who was amazing in creating chances and is a high quality player, I almost give him a free role at times to go out and use his talent and it has payed off with how he has performed.
Zerbini wasnt quite as prolific as last season but did lose his place when Carvalho arrived also a mention to my excellent midfield and my goalkeeper who…….:
Managed to claim goalkeeper of the year! With the way I play, who would have thought my best three players would have been my back two and my goalkeeper!
But am more than pleased with how the season went, playoff’s were annoying but I am used to losing them now so not much of a big deal! We only need a few new faces but am looking to offload 5-6 players and maybe push for promotion next season, my team is good enough to compete so with a few quality signings who knows!?

Hi Ana, a shame about losing in the play offs, but you’ve had a pretty good season so well done. Like you say, a couple new faces should see you competing for the title next year, looking forward to seeing how you do in pre season :)

I was pleased with the season and I am used to losing playoff games! Just need some new faces and we can hopefully push for promotion.

Well done Ana, that was one hell of a season. To win against so many top teams to reach the play-offs was outstanding!! I can’t believe Carlos missed that penalty, one kick could have made such a difference. You must be among the favourites to go up next season though. Well done Ana.

I know! He is usually so calm when we need him but he had a great season and I guess it just wasnt meant to be!
I guess we will be considered for promotion and with the right players who knows?!

Oh no not again and after such a great regualr season finishing with a 6-1 victory. i’m sure though you will be nuch stronger next year and go up automatically. Well done though and thanks for providing an entertaining season.

It was entertaining just fell at the last challenge but we were considered for relegation so to be up their it was a great achievement. Agreed we will have a stronger team if I can keep the players I want and sell some players to raise some cash!

Oh, such a heartbreak again… I guess Carlos found the worst possible moment to miss a penalty kick… Anyway, those moments make a manager stronger and I’m sure you’ll get that promotion next season!

Just those damn playoff games! I am cursed and I think I have lost 90% of them which is a pretty bad record!
