Coruxo FM 11 — A New Season Dawns!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my Coruxo story. Last time we managed to win the title with a final game decider so are now preparing ourselves for our first ever time in la liga.

So lets have a look at the summer’s transfer activities and how my spending went!

——

So the season began with some good news as we are now improving both our youth and training facilities at a cost of £375k. The cost wont hurt the club too much and they should be ready in time for the new season so thats a bit of good news.

Unlike Johnny I am a bit scared of failure! He always picks mid-table finish but I couldnt face it so just went with avoid relegation!

That said we were given a good transfer budget of £5 million and an excellent wage cap of £105k and we are about £50k under so I have a lot to work with! On my Real Union game we were not given this type of money or anywhere near it so am fairly happy with the money given.

I dont really want to waste it but I did sell some players and as always some just had to go and others I didnt want to sell but the amount of money offered was too much and I had to accept it. Lets have a look at the players that I sold :

So Veseli was the first sold for £3 million to Empoli which makes me think that I probably should have held on to him as he obviously has good potential but I cant argue with the money I got to help the club with. Berigaud was sold for money only and at £3.4 million I couldnt really refuse.

He was unhappy and wanted away, also he twice handed in a transfer request that I rejected and I hoped that now we are in la liga his attitude would change but it didnt so I just sold him. Saric was sold for £625k and Mossa for £75k neither were in my plans for la liga so just sold both.

Perez was also sold after another transfer request was handed in, I accepted and offered him out and got almost £2 million for him so that took our total to £9 million pounds and with the £5 million I had it meant I could splash a bit of money on some players.

Lets have a look at the new faces :

Daniel Ayala

So my first signing was that of Daniel Ayala for £1.7 million pounds, I feel that he will provide good back up at centre back and with Kaka and Valiente I am hopeful he can push them to keep their places. His stas are pretty good and a bonus that he is Spanish!

Imanol Agirretxe

So my record signing at £2.3 million from Real Sociedad, he is a centre forward and has a pretty good strike record so am hoping he can score the goals we will need to survive. I will partner him alongside Henrique so his job is more to hold the ball up and play other players in with his strength and power. A pretty decent finsher too!

Wilson Palacios

A free transfer! I had to get him I would have regretted it if I didnt and on a free there is hardly any risk, I was surprised he was released but he will definatly start in my midfield and seems to be the perfect holding midfield player.

Kevin Theohile Catherine

So right back continues to annoy me as I cant find any decent right backs. This was the best I could find who wanted to join me and having looked at him now he just isnt good enough! I payed a silly £700k for him but he looks a waste of money but hopefully he will play better than his stats suggest!!

Mikel Balenziaga

I manged to find a pretty good left back in Balenziaga and payed a million pounds for him, Spanish which is what I wanted and a good age to develop pretty good stats and will be a starter for my team.

Renan Garcia

No relation! But another free transfer and is a midfield player, he will be more of a back up player but his stats are good and should be able to step in when I will need him.

Ryan Mendes de Graca

My final signing and another freebie, I dont have too much pace in my team so this player was brought in for that reason. He is part French so will have no trouble with foreign status so hopefully he can make a difference from the bench. My thinking is to bring him on late into games when the opposition defenders start to tire so he can use he pace to cause some problems.

So thats it! My pre-season was a typical affair cashing in as much as I can in Asia and Australia. Our first game of the season is home at Real Madrid so we will be thrown straight it and the deep end! A tough season awaits so am keeping my fingers crossed that we can survive!

Thanks for reading and wish we luck! :)

Some great buys there that will set you in good sted for the first season of La Liga and your first match against Madrid! Typical eh? Best of them was probably palacios even if he is getting on a bit. Stick him on tutoring and I’ve got no doubts that he will turn into a decent member of your backroom staff in the future.
Got some good money for your existing players though, and although they might have been better off at the club you’ve bought in adequate backups at a fraction of the price so financially you won’t suffer.
Good to see you upgrading your facilities aswell, always a bonus in the long term.
Hope it goes well, you’ve got a decent enough squad so I doubt you’ll be down the bottom at the end of the season.
    Will be following!

      Thanks Excessive,

I half expected it! Last time on my Real Union game my first game was away at Barcelona so they never make it easy for me!!

Yeah keeping the finances high was my biggest aim just incase we dont survive we can afford to keep the new players that I have bought this season.

Am hoping we wont be bottom! But it will be a difficult season so if we finish just above the relegation places I will be very happy!!

      :)

Good signings Ana, particularly Palacios, who will surely be a very good player for you, and I also like the look of Ayala, and the new left back and striker, who should also serve you well. Tough start against Real Madrid, but hopefully you can cause an upset, good luck!

      Thanks Laxeyman,

Am really pleased with the new players so hope they can settle quickly for the challenge ahead. It is a tough start but at least it will be out the way!! :)

Hi Ana, as always you were very sensible with your finances…selling players when the money is too much to refuse is a good practise at this stage. I think Palacios could be a huge signing and your new striker will also make a bug difference. Real Madrid is a tough start but hey, at least they’ll be out of the way :)

      Thanks Darren,

Just have to cover myself incase I get relegated and end up in debt again! Palacios is a great player but it goals I am worried about just hoping that Henrique and Agirretxe can score enough to survive.

      Fingers crossed! :)

    Hi Ana,

This season is mainly for survival but i have no doubt you will at least get a mid-table finish with those players coming in. Palacios will be a very good holding midfield player for you.Good luck for the new season ahead.

      Thanks Lye,

Mid — table would be nice but I am just aiming to stay in this league for next season. Palacios should do well as my holding midfield player just getting goals is what I am worried about.

Thanks for the luck I feel I will need it! :)

Good job Ana, you seem to have spent wisely and brought in solid players overall. That Basque striker should do a good job while Palacio should be a leader in the middle of the park. Best of luck against Real Madrid, those big teams tend to start the season slowly so I guess you have a good chance to pull off a great upset!

      Thanks Johnny,

Am hoping he can do well upfront with Henrique there goals will be vital if we have any chance of surviving.

Real Madrid always start slowly so I guess we have a chance! My biggest fear is just losing by 5 or 6 and then struggling to lift morale for the games after!
