Hi everyone, welcome back to my Bury story. Yes, I rejected the Arsenal job offer, as it came too soon for me. Last season we finished unexpectedly as Champions Of England. I want to take Bury to the next step and conquer England, Europe, World which means I should be here for at least another 7 seasons. :D When I rejected the job offer, Arsenal hired…. Sam Allardyce! Uuugh, such a negative manager taking over the good football of Arsenal and managing the likes of Fabregas, Van Persie, Kadlec, Hamsik, Subotic, Nasri etc, and with a 138m budget… It just doesn’t look right, seem right.
Anyway…
Start Of Season Expectations
My expectation this season is to challenge for the title, the board were quiet stingy this year, I know 38.5m is a lot of money, but around 30m of it was remaining from the season before. So they gave around 8.5m from their back pockets. However they did extend the stadium by 1500 seats, and the stadium capacity is now exactly 20000. They also improved training and youth facilities. So I guess, it’s not bad…
Transfers Out
The big transfer of this campaign was Ronaldo. He left to Arsenal for a massive sum of £25.5m! It’s not the brightest idea of making your title challengers stronger but the next offer I had was £10m less. He was the highest paid player at the club also. I did want to keep him but he wanted a new contract of 135k a week! A wage i will hopefully never give to a player. Anyway, this is the first signs of the ‘Y2G’ system for my club, signing him for 8m three seasons ago and selling him on for 25.5m at the age of 22, a massive profit. If anything I would have got a slightly higher fee than the current fee at his peak age. Emmanuel Adebayor also left the club, on a bosman, so now this means we have lost 2 of our 3 best players last season. Is our title challenge over before it has begun? Another sign that Y2G system is working is that I bought Jose Luis Guttierrez for 1.9m 4 seasons ago, and now I have sold him for a 4m profit. The club helped him and he helped us, remember our 3rd season? Where we finished 7th? He was the striker that was scoring for us. And the club helped his finishing increase by 2 (10-12). :D We were lucky to make any money on Lucas Carrera, a 5m loss, but oh well. A lot of players came out publically after his transfer saying, how happy they are that he is sold because he had a terrible attitude.
Transfers In
50% more transfers than last season! Damn, I really made Leverkusen weak, eh? :D
Esteban Petti
Esteban is my new goalkeeper back-up after Eduardo was sold. He is only 22 and looks great. Cost 4.5m…
Dudu Cearense
No defenders were signed, so we will move straight onto the midfield, where Dudu Cearense was signed for 12m as Ronaldo’s replacement. He isn’t as quick, or defensively as good, but he is an excellent creative player. He is 3 years younger, so we will see how he develops. Excellent work rate and determination which is good to have in the team. He will player as my ‘advanced playmaker’ and Fahri Aytac will move to ‘box to box midfielder’
Alex
We have struggled to have sufficient depth on the wings for the past few seasons, so Alex was signed for 4.9m from Braga. He will be rotated with Antonio Quimbamba…
New Strikers
With Adebayor and Carerra gone, we definately needed two new strikers. Both were signed from Leverkusen, both are German. :D
Stefan Meyer was signed for a small fee of 6m, a great transfer I say!
Kevin Lorenz was the expensive signing, for 18.5m! I am 99% sure he will be success! He has high levels of Finishing, Composure, Flair, First Touch, Determination, Decisions, Agility and then he is good at Creativity, Pace, Passing, Technique. One factor that really pushed me is his influence! 17! A real leader! Just what my team needs!
Pre — Season Freindlies
A good pre-season…. New signings look good. Kevin Lorenz only played 15mins in pre-season, he was injured all the way through with a hip injury.
Community Shield
A game we should have won, but didn’t. Blackburn winning on penalties :( Never mind, maybe next year. On the bright side, New striker Stefan Meyer scored! :D
Champions League Group
AARGH! Why do we have to get Barcelona! This isn’t an easy group. I expect Barcelona to top the group easily, but the second place will be tight. I wouldn’t rule out a hammering from Barcelona when we play them. I have a sneaky feeling we may get knocked out in the group stage.
Fixtures:
It doesn’t get any easier as Barcelona is our first fixture…

Now that your best players are gone, you have a greater challenge than next year. But I think your replacements are really good and could be better than your old players. What does on a bosman mean?

Thanks Vibhav, Ronaldo was a consistent performer, so i guess your correct, it will be harder to win it this year. A bosman means = a free transfer.

Great signings Sayam, I especially like Ronaldo’s replacement and believe he’ll be bigger and better than Ronaldo in a few years. You did well in terms of paying for your transfers too, that could just get better with every season. I think your pre-season form was good, just a little unlucky vs Blackburn. That CL group is tough though, I think who ever does best vs Barcelona will get second, just a little tip there ;) Good luck mate, enjoying the story.

That was a good pre season Sayam, Dudu looks like a fabulous creator in midfield, and with him supplying your new German frontline should score plenty of goals. I reckon you will retain the Premier League title, and I wouldn’t bet against you when you play Barca, I think an upset could be on the cards :) Good luck!

First of all I think that Dudu Cearense will be a massive player, you did very well to get him. You were quite unlucky to get that CL group though, it’s incredibly tough but I think that you have a very good chance of finishing second and maybe even causing an upset against Barca. Best of luck!

Your two Brazilian midfielders look fantastic and Kevin Lorenz should prove to be lethal once he returns to full fitness. That’s very unlucky to draw Barcelona and indeed Shaktar early on in the CL so I’ll wish you all the best as you begin this campaign.

Plenty of good young signings again.Dudu seem to to be a force in midfield. Kevin Lorenz and Stefan Meyer will be key to your success. Is Kevin Lorenz out for long? That’s a tough group in the CL. Shakhtar is a rich club and should provide some challenge for you. Good luck on the new season.

Some good signings there Sayam, that Champions League group looks like a bona fide Group of Death though, every team is a pretty big name team, hopefuly Lorenz can keep fit, but you still have Ze Carlos
