Hello everyone! I hope you are well. Since school is starting tommorow for me I thought there would be enough time to post, one more post just before I start going back into my normal routine of 1/2 posts a week. Anyway, my last post showed how Arsenal were favourites for the title, how Bury won the League Cup, and were in good shape to win the other two competitions also. Lets see how we did:
Well our title quest took another blow as we lost to Spurs with Arsenal getting closer to winning the title. However when it comes to one on ones we usually come out on top and we did once again! My trusted due of Boyomo and Jovanovic delivered again. However the bad news was that Fahri Aytac (CM/DM) was sent off in the game (which made the victory even better!) and George Petrache picked up an injury which would rule him out up to five weeks! However luckly we’re in a position where our back ups are more than good enough with Emiliano Bazan replacing Fahri Aytac and Mathias Pedersen replacing Petrache. As you can see we had no problem in the return leg as we managed to draw the game and will play Atletico Madrid (!!!), 3 times winners in the past 5 years, beating me once! We were also through to the FA Cup final after beating Newcastle on penalties and will play Man City!
But first we had to play Atletico in the first leg in Spain:
The teams
As you knew before the game, Romanian centre back George Petrache was out through injury so Mathias Pedersen replaced him. Fernando Traverso was ineligble as he played for Galatasary in the Champions League before he joined us. However our top scorer Slobodon Jovanovic was missing through injury also, he picked up a 4 week injury against Newcastle.

Fantastic victory! However if you really think about it, it was the same team that played them in the CL final a couple of years ago apart from Boyomo, but the victory seemed quiet easy! I guess my team is fully developed now and more experienced.
We then had a PL game vs West Ham three days later:
After that we welcomed Atletico back to Gigg Lane:
I had a few tactical decisions to make before the game. Should I play an Ancor man for the AM? Or would that be negative thinking? Well what I decided in the end was to play the same system but Emiliano Bazan started instead of Dudu. This decision made sense as Dudu was one yellow card away from a suspension, and with a potential final most likely I didn’t want him to be suspended. Bazan would provide better protection defensively.
Things didn’t get off to a good start as Khouma Babacar scored for Atletico in the 7th minute but Ze Carlos leveled after 21 minutes. Babacar scored again 9 mins later and I was biting my nails whenever Atletico had an attack. Ze Carlos leveled again from another corner in the 56th minute. Aguero scored for Atletico in the 69th minute, which mean a nail biting 20 minutes for the club, be we came through clean! We were in the final will play OM!
Bad news was that Fabio Fiorentino has broken his ribs in the 88th minute which ruled him out for 2/3months. This meant his season was over and I didn’t have a recognised fit striker in the squad! But wait… I’m sure I had a third choice striker at the club? Oh yeah… He’s no longer here as Arsenal signed him for 74m! Paulinho!!! How much his transfer has affected us this season! grr
Last two games of the PL season:
We won both of our games but did we win the title. Oh yeah, i played Boyomo up front in the UTD game.
FA CUP FINAL — BURY VS MAN CITY
Well we had Slobodon Jovanovic back from injury. Petrache was still out. Also in the UTD game, Mathias Pedersen picked up an injury which meant we had no other fit CB apart from Ze Carlos, so who was going to play there? Micah Richards was weak and unfit. Our only other option was Al Hasan Meliani who had been training there for the past 6-8 months.

Ze Carlos has scored 4 times in the past 5 games! Whats happening to him! He hasn’t been great from corners all season and only scored 9 goals. Oh yeah, this is the 4 consecutive final he has scored in! I guess I’ll keep him untill he retires and play in every final we get to :D
3 days later we had anothe final to play in! The Champions League final vs OM!
Al Hasan Meliani had to do another shift for us today in his unfavoured CB position… Antonio Quimbamba returned in place of ineligble Traverso.

Ze Carlos scored in another final! What is going on! Anyway this final was much easier than the FA Cup final! I’m delighted. PS you have to watch Gino Kusters’ goal in the highlights. It’s amazing for a LB!

Squad Ratings
So after a treble, lets see how my squad performed this season and discuss who will be leaving.
Ze Carlos was our best player of the season and then closely followed by Boyomo. Jovanovic came in third. I think that stats are speaking the truth apart from Fahri Aytac’s end result and Al Hasan Meliani. Both are DM’s so all they do is protect the back 4 which doesn’t earn them a big rating, however it is hugely affective. Mathias Pedersen will leave the club as he is approaching 28 years of age and entering his last year of contract. I know i’m not being loyal but I’ve found some good young defenders. Richards will also leave on a free as his contract has run out. Apart from that everyone will stay at the club. Oh yeah, wilshere may also be sold.

Anyway, your probably thinking what going on. All these highlights, in depth analysis. Well I feel it is one of the main part of my bury career so I should present it in a good way, eh?
Thanks for reading!

Congratulations on an amazing season Sayam, this was so close to being a perfect one! You did great to win the Champions League although the final seemed to be easier than the semi final against Atletico :) Well done mate and good luck at school ;)

Great season Sayam, shame you couldn’t win the league, but fantastic victories in both the FA Cup and Champions League! Boyomo, Dudu, Jovanovic and Ze Carlos are all fantastic players, and I’m sure you’ll be challenging on all fronts again next season :)
