Hi everyone, welcome back to my Bury FC story.
Well the title says it all, it’s been a below average start. A dissapointing start, but this is what makes a story exciting, right?
I think these are the possible reasons of this:
— New tactics may not be working, may need to reconsider this.
— Mainly a new first team 11 so they may need time to adapt, but how long?
Anyway forget the negatives, I bought in 3 new signings on loan, lets see who they are:
Robbie Brady
Robbie Brady has come in on loan from Manchester United, just the player I needed, he has pace, good technical abilities. Much better than Michael Jones and Andy Howarth.
Connor Henderson
Connor Henderson arrives from Arsenal on loan, Arsenal pay all of his wages which is the beauty of this transfer. He will play in CM with Marcel Mahouve, being the creative midfielder of the duo.
Rhys Murphy
Same as Connor Henderson, Rhys Murphy also arrives from Arsenal on loan with Arsenal paying all the wages. I was tempted to loan him because of Andy Bishop’s injury, which left me with 2 strikers.
Before we start lets look at the media prediction:
Bury vs Macclesfield
My first game of the season was against Macclesfield, none of my loaness played as I didn’t sign them by then. There media prediction is 22nd so we really had to win. Marcel Mahouve scored a wonder goal, check the highlights below! There is one thing that the old manager did correct for this club, he signed Danny Carlton who seems to be a clinical goalscorer, like Michael Owen was back in the old days :-)
Bury vs Norwich
A few day later we faced League 1 favourites Norwich in the League Cup 1st round. We were shown the wipers and got thrashed. As you can see they were all over us in the stats and we didn’t play well with an average rating of 6.23.
Gillingham vs Bury
Then we faced Gillingham, predicted to finish 3rd in the league. If you think of it that way it was a good point. Tom Lees suffered an injury which would keep him out for a month. It was a conjested game, 6 yellow cards, with 3 each explains the story!
Bury vs Torquey
Our next game was vs Torquey at home. Torquey are predicted to finish 17th and are a weaker team than us. We should have won this game and we were going to untill the 58th minute. We had a 3-1 lead, we were in a comfortable position and then we gave 2 goals away! I was fuming! Robbie Brady made his debut in this game coming off the substitute bench.
Hereford vs Bury
Once again we couldn’t defend a lead. After this game I have had a lot of concerns about my defence. We were very close to losing this match if it wasn’t for an own goal.
Bury vs Rochdale (1st round Johnston Paint Trophy)
Next we faced huge rivals Rochdale, who are in League 1, in the Johnston Paint trophy first round. It was an equal game, which gave me more confidence about my defence. It showed me that my team are starting to adapt and positive performances are to come. In the end the game was decided on penalties which we lost. It was a rea derby, just look at the ammount of yellow cards were given in the game! The fans weren’t happy, but i was satisfied with the performance.
So that ends August, which has contained a below average start. I’m hoping for an improvement in the next month, and i’m fairly confident there weill be as the last game showed. Anyway take care untill next time.

Draw specialist Sayam its great that your able to score so many goals but it doesn’t help that your defence is leaking goals as well. Their are some positives here like its only the first month of the season and I had a similar start to the season in my story with Hartlepool United and I’m now top of the league. The second positive is that your still undefeated in the league with is always a good sign.

Well, the results are not great but at least you produced quite a few spectacular games there. The defense seems to be a bit leaky but I guess the team needs to adapt to the tactic. Did you check the match preparation screen to see how they deal with your current tactic? The three loanees are good at this level, they should improve your squad.

Hi Sayam, I wouldn’t say you’ve started that badly, you’re still unbeaten and now that your players have been together a while they will start to gel. The loan signings look good too, and I’m sure things will pick up and you’ll get a few more wins soon. Good luck!

Your attack is almost and as good as mine and you defend the same as me!! :)
Am sure you will find the balance soon, took me a while to get my defenders defending! Hopefully you can start picking up some wins, but your start isnt that bad.

Hi Sayam, you have struggled a little this month but the new game takes a while to adjust to. With those new signings you’ll find some form soon. Goodluck mate.
ps just ignore the extremely rude comments, there are a lot of followers who are sick of them as well, including myself. It has no reference to your stories or writitng as they are great…these people are just bored and enjoy been immature.

Keep the faith mate and I’m sure it will all start to click for you team soon enough. Those are some very decent loan signings you’ve acquired and should help the Bury cause.Look at this way the promise of goals should increase attendances and your finances!!
