Ana, FM 2012 : Season 1 Building A Dynasty

Hello everyone!!

I hope your all well and welcome back to my story!

So after a few days spent pondering, wondering and thinking about all your suggestions I’ll be honest I was a total loss! Lots of really good challenges were suggested to me but having taken some I really liked the look of I checked the forums to find most in full swing and I didnt want to intrude on the hard work of the writer’s there.

I had settled on a return to Real Union until I saw Martin’s Tenerife post and was thinking I cant even do that!

So I had a plan to do something I have never seen as that’s always fun!

The logo should give it away! (or maybe not) I would love for someone to have guessed correctly infact I would love someone to guess what league I am in!

I will give you a chance to guess as I unveil it this post so hope you enjoy it!! :)

International Career

— U.S.A (May 2017 – July 2021)

Nothing.

Spain (July 2024 – 2027)

Nothing fm 2012 icon sad .

— Peru (2031 — Present)

Nothing as of yet.

————————————-

So first up I stepped down at Velez and yes I will be continuing the same save!

The main reason is I hate starting new games and will avoid it whenever possible and I really love when the ‘real’ life players have long gone and its down to the best regenerated players you can find.

So my new job is……

Just kidding! :)

I was re-offered my role as the national manager of Spain I was so very tempted to go back but I want to stay loyal to my new employers Peru and see if I can get to the World Cup!

So lets try again!

My new team is……

That’s right Livadia Dzerzhinsk!!

Now be honest did any of you guess it correctly from the logo?!

The country I am now in is that of Belarus a place where I have never managed! :)

So the main reason I joined is that they have no history!

They have never won a thing have terrible facilities a tiny stadium of only 1,000 capacity and a squad which is let me tell you the worst I have ever had!!

The team is affectionately know as Dzerzhinsty but from now on I will call them Livadia for the simple sake that’s its much easier to type and remember! :)

That’s right no legends, no icons nothing a perfect place to begin my dynasty!

We are predicted to finish bottom and we are in the first league which is one below the highest league and in the bottom division in Belarus (no that’s actually what its called the Highest league!) in Belarus, estimated value of a huge £60k and a ticket price of only 50 pence!

Only five pounds also for a season ticket so its nice to see 247 passionate fans decide to stick with me through my first season! :)

Star Player — Sergey Gorelov

Yes that is our star player and our highest valued player as well at £9k!!

Nothing much more to say……except we might be in trouble!

Club Finances

So really not too bad!

We have a small amount tucked away in the bank balance and a very ambitious manager from Spain so we are well on our way….

Ok, maybe not but at least we are not in financial difficulties and even turned a small profit this month!

Transfers In and Out Second Window

So yeah transfers everyone’s favourite part!

Except there was a problem the league rules state I can have zero foreign players!

I have no scout, no assistant manager, no physios and my star player earns £3 pounds a week! So what I did was quickly assign an assistant and trailed through the wealth of Belorussian talent available and sadly this was the absolute best I could find……

Vadim Zhukov

Hmm…….. he is tall at least!

I said in a response to Wicklander on the forums that when managing in these types of leagues buy players with lots of pace which I couldn’t get!!

So as a plan B buy tall players! Hopefully he can address our goalscoring problems which you will now see.

Results and Table before I Took Over

So yeah that’s what I’m dealing with!

We currently bottom of the league we struggle to score goals and have a really bad defense so what to do?

Well our squad is quite frankly terrible! We have no pace, no quality and only one decent forward and a fairly decent attacking midfield player , so my excellent 4-2-4 will have to go out of the window in favour for something a little more functional.

I settled on this formation to see how well it would work :

I know! I know I am probably the most attacking manager ever but needs must in this side!

My goal is not to try and win games but to try and not lose them very negative I know but I have the worst team I have ever managed so I have no real choice really.

New signing Zhukov will be a lone striker with Kuznetsov (I know Mardas is pictured but Kuznetsov was injured) Kuznetsov has a little bit of pace some good flair so if Zhukov can hold the ball up those two might be able to create some chances at least!

Defense is horrible and we don’t even have two defensive midfielders! I have a left winger in that position for now but amazingly he has better tackling than some of our defenders! :)

Change of Pace — Off To Peru!

So before we get back to Livadia lets have a look at the qualification for the upcoming World Cup finals and if Peru will even be there.

Yay! We are off to Australia!

We hit a great run of form beating Chile then Uruguay eight goals to one but they did have two men sent off including their goal keeper but we took full advantage.

Venezuela and Ecuador were routine victories then Paraguay had a man sent off and we ran away as four zero winners. Losses against Argentina and twice against Brazil was acceptable but at the end of the day we made it and am looking forward to the tournament next season to see just how well we do!

Livadia — Results and Table End of Season

Survived!

Just barely though after the first defeat (which I missed of my results apologies) using my 4-2-4 I felt I needed to change as we lost that game by four goals to zero, and after I used the tactic you saw earlier on I thought inspired!

This is easy as we won three games in a row and deserved to win them also. Then I guess the novelty of the new manager wore off as we struggled in the next few games then a run of real inconsistency as we won a game lost a game but the real crunch games (my boyfriends term!) were Pinsk and Klechesk.

I really wanted to get this update out tonight so whilst I jumped in the shower I gave responsibility to my better half  and he managed to get a win and a draw and in his usual modest manner he decided to upload the highlights claiming it to be the biggest win of the season! (Mostly because he was in charge whilst I was gone) but he had a point.

The game was pretty good actually so here are the highlights, I especially like Zhukov’s second and the third, a fluke from Kurilovich!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZhEqMrb834

Final Player Ratings of the Season

So Zhukov was a pretty inspired signing! Eight goals from 13 starts and a few sub appearances and as you can see he has a bit of class (especially with that chip over the goal keeper!) Kuznetsov was also pretty good and really help carry the team over the those periods of games.

That said the squad is really poor but replacing it will be even more difficult as I am stuck with only players from Belarus, my main targets is to get a scout and at least find a few new players in the upcoming window.

Platonov was an academy player who has just come through the ranks, he looks alright also but I forgot to take a pic! Lets just say he is as good as what we have got and he is only 17! :)

Star Man of the Season — Dmitriy Kuznetsov

End of Season Finances and Round-Up

So we managed to make a profit of £49k which is really nice, obviously there were no finances from last year as I have just added the Belarus league to my playable list.

So that’s my next challenge!

Am not sure what you make of it but I really wanted to give you something unique that hasn’t been done before and in a league that you wont be familiar with. I will be only signing players from Belarus and promoting players from my youth team, its sort of an everything challenge my goals is to simply take this team as far as I can go. Its not to try and win the champions league which I know will be impossible especially with the rules I have set for myself so its shouldn’t rival Johnny’s amazing story in Romania.

I tried to pick a league no-one really knows that much about and a team that I can’t even pronounce in real life!

I really wanted a team that had won nothing had the worst facilities possible and be outside of the real money leagues like England, Spain, Germany, Italy etc

Yet still be in Europe but have no real chance of winning the champions league and of course throw in my wacky twists of managing in the weirdest place’s possible without interfering with the great stories we have on the main site and the forums!

I feel I have ticked all the boxes for myself and have found something I actually want to do and am interested to see how well/bad things will go so hopefully you will stick with me onto hopefully managing over 2,000 games!

Whilst turning Lavidia into a team that can finally be proud of its history!

Thanks so much for reading!! I eagerly await to read your responses and find out what you think about my new challenge (and be honest please!). :)

oh my gosh ana, you raised the bar with this one. out of the top of my head, this challenge you put yourself up against is not only ridiculously tough but it comprises all of the other challenges, except the youth academy one. well, i guess if there is someone with enough patience and skill to do that, it is you.
maybe, going for double nationality players is the key to success.
best of luck! i believe we are probably looking at a 4-5 seasons long story this time.

      Thanks Pedro!

I agree I really wanted to do something on the face of it that looked impossible and instead of aiming to win something trying to build a team to be proud of.

I wanted to the academy one as well! But for some reason I don’t have a youth team but I do seem to be able to offer contacts to 16-17 years old’s at the end of the season though.

I plan on signing on players born in Belarus so if they are born in Belarus but have say are part Russian that’s fine but I wont sign them if its the other way round.

Am hoping to go a little longer than that! I wanted to get to 2,000 games in charge of Livadia we will see how far I can get! :)

Oh wow I feel reaaaaaalllly bad sorry :(

I cant believe you’ve managed to finish a whole season already…I lagging behind by loads, havent even got halfway.

You’ve managed to find a story with massive potential…well done you :) You should be proud of your first season achievements, to avoid relegation is fantastic and now the real challenge begins. I’m looking forward to seeing what you can do with this…I dont think I’ve seen a Belarus one before.

    Again I’m really sorry :(

      OMG Martin!

Please don’t feel bad! I think I worded what I wanted to say slightly wrong I love that fact that you are managing in Spain!

I meant I didn’t want the site to have two of the same stories with you at Tenerife and me at Real Union I am really looking forward to your story!

Its just I ended my pentagon before you decided and I had planned on Real Union but I am happy that the site will be getting a story from Spain.

I only have Belarus and Peru leagues selected (for my national team) so my game speeds along very quickly only took me an hour and a half to get through my season, most of my time was spent looking for Peruvian defenders! :)

Again please don’t feel bad! Sometimes I word things incorrectly when I am typing out my updates so really no need to apologise! :)

I’d forgotten that the Belarus leagues were in the game, so my first and second guesses of Ukraine and Russia were wrong. Not being able to sign foreign players certainly makes things tough, especially with the quality which seems to be available to you. I think I dislocated my tongue trying to pronounce the name of the team. :P

We all love to have our teams play wonderfully attacking football, but sometimes there is no choice but to go with a more defensive system, which has certainly worked for you. It’ll be interesting to see how you build the club up slowly to eventually be a force within the country, but that’s going to take quite a few seasons.

Your management of Peru has been going quite well, so looking forward to seeing how the team perform in the World Cup.

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:25

      Thanks Ziggy! :)

I was just looking through the leagues and thought hmm never tried Belarus then was trying to think that I have never seen a story from Belarus so why not try!

Agreed! The team name was one I couldn’t pronounce to my partner! I wanted to try and just rely on players from Belarus as an added challenge for my dynasty.

I really need to turn professional but am prepared for a few seasons of relegation battles before we start looking up. This is probably the worst team I have ever managed up there with Malaysia so am not expecting a promotion anytime soon! :)

Thanks! I quite like Peru we have plenty of flair players and lots of pace so we are a great counter attacking side am not expecting too much from the World cup but if the draw is kind then who knows!

First of all, I want to say congratulations on completing your Pentagon challenge. I have been catching up on them over the last few weeks.
This new challenge however is on a different level. I am confident though that you will pushing up the table in the not too distant future. To be fair, Lavadia’s form since you took over is in the top half already. Turning Peru into a world power looks like a story all on it’s own.
Best of luck with your dynasty in the making

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:29

      Thanks Benjy! :)

Am glad you have been enjoying my story, I really wanted a challenge that wasnt about winning trophies rather that trying to build a club based on home grown players.

But I didn’t want the financial support from the richer leagues in Europe that’s how I ended up in Belarus!

Our form is so up an down at times we can look so reliable other times we look like we never seen a football before! Looking like we will concede from every attack so its just trying to strike a balance.

In terms of Peru I couldn’t win anything with Spain so don’t expect too much with Peru!

      Thanks again. :)

    Hi Ana
Well, I could have never predicted you ending up in Belarus so this is going to be a very interesting story to follow as I think you will need all your expertise and experience to make something of this team. Of course you will so that in the end but it’s going to be quite the ride I feel

Good for you in choosing something way out there :)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:32

      Thanks Kevin! :)

You know me, am full of surprises! :)

I really hope so, I wanted to try and create something unique something I have never seen or read so hopefully it will be interesting to read and follow!

    31 мая, 2012 at 01:17

wow!Was not expecting that.Very interesting choice. It’s nice though to take charge of a not so good team and try to turn things around and hopefully make them good. It’s definitely a good challenge for you. It’s obviously going to be tough though but you have won 5 champions league so you definitely have the credentials to make good thins happen.I wish you the best with this challenge and I hope you win a lot with Livadia.Good luck Ana!

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:36

      Thanks Ronan! :)

That was the plan, to pick a team out of the financially strongest leagues with nothing the worst facilities possible and only signing players born in that country and see if I can build a legacy.

Having won all the champions leagues I wanted a new challenge that didn’t involve winning anything rather that trying to build a club from the bottom upwards!

It will either work well or fail spectacularly but should be fun either way! ;)

  7. Malhar Bhadbhade

    31 мая, 2012 at 05:18

wow! you’ve certainly given yourself an incredible challenge! it will be really interesting to see how far you go with this team…i don’t think i have ever seen anyone manage a Belarussian team before, so this story is certainly going to be very interesting. congrats on staying up against the odds and good luck for next season…

p.s. — Chelsea won the Champions League!! and signed Eden Hazard!!! and Hulk seems to be on his way too :D i bet your boyfriend must be very excited :D

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:40

      Thanks Malhar! :)

I too haven’t seen a story from Belarus so that was one big factor in why I chose that country am hoping to provide a nice long story again!

P.S. — I still don’t think he has got over the final! But I was delighted for him and for Chelsea I remember that night a few years ago when Chelsea lost on penalties and my boyfriend didn’t talk for like a week! :)

  8. Johnny Karp

    31 мая, 2012 at 08:22

You have picked an amazing challenge Ana, a bit wacky indeed but it should be extremely interesting :) Congrats on saving the team from relegation, that was an almost impossible mission. And good luck for the World Cup!

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:44

      Thanks Johnny!

Wacky, a word that some people would say sums me up perfectly! :)

Surviving was tough, this team inst the best! I fear that for the next few seasons we will be fighting at the wrong end of the table but am looking forward to it!

Thanks for the luck! I will need it with my record at the world cup! ;)

  9. Jonathan Carver

    31 мая, 2012 at 08:54

First of all congrats on completing the pentagon, I read your story all last year and all this year and it simply amazing what you achieved in both saves :D!!

What a challenge this is though, no foreign players and no money :) it will be tough but I’m sure you of all people can build a team to be proud of!!!

    Good luck :)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:48

      Thanks Jonathan! :)

It was a long time coming but am glad that I manged to complete it!

Yeah no foreign players, I cant believe I wont be buying any amazing Africa youngsters! But needs must and a new challenge is ahead! At the moment finances are not too bad but when your star player earns £3 a week I guess its not too bad!

      :)

  10. Darren Smith

    31 мая, 2012 at 12:00

Wow, now that is a challenge. Love how you went from managing Spain and winning the CL in every continent to managing an awful side in Belarus and Peru national team. ;)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:50

      Thanks Darren!

Ha! Yeah never thought of it like that, like starting from the very bottom working towards the very top then crashing back down to the very bottom again!

  11. Dan

    31 мая, 2012 at 13:28

    Hey Ana,
I don’t really know what to say, what an awful team… ;)
I’m sure you can make a success of it though, I mean your reputation alone should inspire your players to feel super human! Good luck.

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:52

      Thanks Dan!

Agreed, defiantly the worst I have ever managed! But that’s half the fun trying to build something out of nothing!

Am not so sure about that! Having seen some of the players in my squad we will need a little more that just super human players! ;)

  12. Ivo Knežević

    31 мая, 2012 at 14:05

    Hey Ana,
I knew you will go to the eastern europe :P
Interesting challange an I believe it will take some time.

    Good luck

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 21:55

      Thanks Ivo!

I was tempted to go to Croatia but seeing as I have already managed there I chose Belarus instead!

I hope so I want a really long time here, I mean Dynasty’s are not built over a few seasons! :)

  13. vaibhavc

    31 мая, 2012 at 14:15

I had no clue which logo that was, so I was surprised when I saw which team you picked. You can do well with this team hopefully, you did well to avoid relegation.

  14. Acss

    31 мая, 2012 at 16:56

Great choice Ana! :) Really glad you’re doing this. At first I did not recognize the logo and when seeing the team’s name I thought it’s from Poland :)) but Belarus…wow :) I imagine how the fans, players and staff alike must have felt when they found out that a worldwide-known manager is coming to help them :)) Congrats on your achievement with Peru, what a win against Uruguay you had there! Looking forward to see the next update, so good luck! ;)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 22:00

      Thanks Acss! :)

Yeah I know!! Not too realistic I guess having won five champions league to join a unknown team in Belarus!

The Uruguay game was a bit miss-leading as they had their goalkeeper sent off after 4 minutes then had another player dismissed 10 minutes later so they played 75 minutes with only nine players at least we took full advantage! ;)

  15. Nikola Katsarov

    31 мая, 2012 at 17:30

Great Work, Ana. You have to be very proud of yourself. Managing a team of those ranks is….hmm even «hard» is a kind word for your case.

Before two months ago I played one season with «Rotor» — team in the Russian First Division. I was thinking there can’t be a worst team, but you proved me wrong.

I wish you all the best, and I’m sure you have the potential even to win Champions League, but you will need a lot of time for that — 10 seasons at least I think.

And I have a story fo you. My girlfriend just can’t get the idea of the FM game. :D:D I’m trying to explain to her, and everytime i give you as an example. But that isn’t making things better. :D:D I think sooner or later she will dumb me…because of FM. :D Just kidding…but you never know. :)

Cheers and Good Luck, Ana! :)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 22:09

      Thanks Nikola! :)

I too haven’t seen a worse team than this and I have managed in Malaysia! :)

I agree I don’t think the champions league is winnable especially with buying no foreign players even after 10 years I would be surprised if we were even in Europe!

LoL, thanks! I was the same an ex-boyfriend of mine played it all the time and I could never see the value in it he tried everything to get me to play it and one day I did.

It took me a while to get into it but what I liked was the fact that its very tactical and you really have to think about it, its weird I guess but scouting then buying a player then watching him develop into a superstar is just so rewarding!

Then I just got hooked! One day I was checking a forum for some advice on defending corners or something and saw a story section, I had a look and ended up reading this amazing story that inspired me to write my own and I have been writing ever since. :)

    31 мая, 2012 at 19:51

    That was a quick return!

I’ll admit when I saw Belarus I was thinking this might not be terribly romantic but actually it looks quite fun and the no foreigner policy makes it very interesting.. but assumably the top division allows some foreigners? Good luck :)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 22:13

      Thanks!

I just couldn’t wait to get this story going! :)

Belarus inst the most glamorous leagues I guess! But I wanted a team that really had nothing and to build a club to be proud of!

I haven’t checked! I presume that foreign players are allowed in the top division but if a team has a foreigners and then they are relegated I don’t think they are allowed to play!

  17. saltwater

    31 мая, 2012 at 20:45

Wow that was a real knock out blow, Ana! I re-read the league name Belarus because quite simply I can’t believe you have gone there, as as you can see everything in a football perspective is quite poor. Facillities, money, players, etc. But well done as that piece of mastermind genius in creating that defensive-minded formation was definetly the launch pad that kept you out of the radiation zone. This should be quite a story!!!
I can’t believe your star player earns £3 pound a week! Shocking. This one week I sold sweets to my friends for inflated prices and I made more than that doing barely nothing!
Good luck, honestly I can’t wait for season 2! :)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 22:18

      Thanks! :)

I cant believe I am in Belarus myself at least its unique! I felt the forward we bought was decent lets say, but the rest of my players are hopeless so I ended up making a very defensive formation that worked which was nice!

I know! £3 pounds a week is pretty low but that adds to the romance I guess, we are all here to build a club not to get rich! :)

  18. Tegar Triemanudigdo

    1 июня, 2012 at 00:58

This is definitely one freaking challenge there, but I love it! I can’t wait to see your dynasty here. Keep up the good work!

  19. Heresy

    1 июня, 2012 at 10:07

Well, Ana, you’re full of surprises :) Champions League should be out of the question i suspect, but maybe you could make a showing in Europa League in a few years time!

As far as the name is concerned, grab a Pole (there’s enough of them around in England to make it possible without much fuss :P) and make them read it to you. I’m sure that after you hear it, the seemingly random collection of consonants will start to make sense :) If you think about managing a club, you should at least know how to read its name properly! ;)

    • Ana Garcia

      1 июня, 2012 at 22:22

      Thanks Heresy! :)

Agreed, champions league is impossible I think but I would happily settle for the Europa league!

I know! Would be great if I could find someone that was born where I am managing then they can tell me how to say it! :)

      • Heresy

        2 июня, 2012 at 00:15

They don’t need to be born there, just need to know the language. And Belarusian pronounciation is quite similar to Polish, we just don’t share the same alphabeet :P (aye, I’m from Poland, I should know..)

I’m quietly confident that in a few years time you can make it to the group stage of Europa League, you’re very persistent and already achieved the impossible a few times :) Winning it may not be on the cards for a while of course, but let’s hope FM will spawn a few good belarusian regens for a change ;) I don’t think I’ve ever seen a regen of european potential coming from that country.. but then again I don’t really look there….

Either way, the next step would be to achieve promotion and I can’t wait to see your pre-season transfers :) Oh, another thing, could you please show us the ‘best’ players from this tier (like top goalscorer or top ratings) so that everyone could see who you’re playing against? You made sure to pick an unfamiliar league to most of us so a few profiles would certainly help us gauge the level of the competition :)

Good luck in your next season, keeping my fingeers crossed for a promotion spot :)

Well having read your comment I went straight to the Belorussian national team!

They have quite a few decent players if I remember I will take a few pics of their star players but currently they are 39th in the world only a place behind England! ;)

However lower leagues is very hard to find good Belarus players I havent really found any yet but half the fun is looking!

Yeah promotion will be a few seasons away, I dont really have a plan in mind but am aiming to compete for promotion in around six seasons which I feel is achievable.

Good idea! I will take a pic of the golden boot winner and the player who provides the most assists to show you what I am up against!

This is a crazy challenge, Ana. A very interesting one though. I wouldn’t know what to do in that kinda league. But if anybody can, i’m sure you can. All the best.

Wow, that’s one hell of a challenge Ana! It might take a while to build a dynasty, but you did well to stay up this season and I reckon you can do it after a while :) Good luck!

Congratulations on avoiding relegation with your new team, turns out that Zhukov the big man also works in the lower leagues :P

Some great attacking football from your Peru team, congratulations on qualifying with the most goals scored in South America

      Thanks!!

Yeah big player’s seem to work! Defiantly not the most attractive footballing side to watch but effective at least thankfully we are very strong from set plays so that’s always nice!

Yeah I was surprised too! Have already played the world cup so you will find out if my ultra attacking Peru side actually did anything! ;)
