Ana — FM 2011 : Seoul, Season Fourteen

Hi everyone!

Welcome to another season in my champions league journey, last time I managed to claim the African champions league so have returned to where my career began in South Korea. I am fairly confident of the rule’s here and I know its nothing new but Seoul are a massive club.

They offered me the job as I was applying to jobs in South America so it was a nice surprise! I accepted and I will now bring the season to you as it happened.

So I wasnt out of work for too long and after leaving Senegal I was offered the vacant position at FC Seoul in South Korea. I know its a bit predictable to be back but I am at a team that can challenge for the Asian champions league.

So they have had some success including a champions league defeat in 2002 so I am quite hopeful of my chances here.

The Best Three Players I Have

So two Brazilians are my best players, I am limited to only three foreign players with foreign being anyone who isnt South Korean so I have to sell of the rest as I wont be able to play them! Shin is an attacking midfielder with both Carlos and Aldair being centre forwards, so at least we have a decent strikeforce.

Results Halfway Point

So we have enjoyed an unbeaten start! I have strayed from my very reliable 4-4-2 to a more 4-2-3-1 type formation and so far it has been working very well. I did this to get the best out of the players I currently have and in preperation for my new player who I will post soon!!

Transfers In And Out Mid Season Window

So as I said before, I got rid of all the foreign players who I didnt want earning just over a million pounds. That freed up a foreign place for my best signing in the game so far! But I will post him last! I made a couple of mistakes also and only players bought in July were the players that I bought in.

Enrique Gimenez

So a mistake I’m afraid! I bought him and I dont know why as I wont be able to play him due to the rules! Aldair my striker was a South Korean citizen having spent almost all his career at Seoul but both my other foreign places will have to go to Olawale and Islas!

Salvador Islas

I bought him to start as a fullback in my team and both he and Olawale were offered to me by their agents. Having no decent players who can play their I bought him until I can find a good South Korean who can replace him.

Ok so he may not look like a ‘super player’ but in South Korea he will be the best player in the league. The funny thing is that I didnt really need any more strikers but ended up buying two in Olawale and Gimenez! I blame the agents for offering me players that I have to buy! :)

Final Results Of The Season

So only Seongnam denied me an unbeaten season something I have never achieved! But despite winning the league with ease we didnt actually win the league! Yes more confusion and apparently the top six all qualify for a playoff with each other in order to win the league.

Really bad setup I think as I could lose the playoff and not win the K league despite a 15 point lead over second place! The only consolation is that because we finished top we are automatically into the final and will play Ulsan for the title.

Yay! I would have posted them as individual games but it was just easier to post all together. We got a narrow one all draw then a narrow win as Olawale scored to seal the K league title! Both were pretty boring games in truth but at least we got the results we wanted.

Final Player Ratings Of The Season

So my new signing as expected was fantastic scoring 15 times in 17 games and he looks a real threat. Amazingly the best three players I showed you earlier were our next best three players! I played them in the three postions behind Olawale and all scored as we have a very good attacking setup.

So again a pretty wierd setup in which they have a sort of group stage that you have to qualify from in order to progress. The final was fantastic a really good game and one we managed to win on penalties! To think last FM I couldnt win one and now I hardly ever lose them, its a nice feeling!

Well you cant win them all and they deserved it in all honesty, for some reason my team didnt show up and despite the excellent Olawale the rest were very poor. A little point of notice that their fourth goal was scored by Qaba who I bought at the Swallows and sold him to Daejon! So he really had a point to prove against me!

And thats it! Am really sorry it has taken me so long to post this update as its been completed for a while! I have played a few season further infact so should be able to post them up very soon I hope. Again thanks for reading such a long post, and I will post my next update as soon as I can.
