Hello everyone and welcome back as I bring you the conclusion to the 2011 / 2012 season and the challenge for the NPower League 2 title.
As we entered the month of April the board announced they were delighted with the way I had guided Wrexham to the top of the table but once again gave a stern warning over the salary gap and insisted that the situation be addressed as soon as possible.
Salary Chart
We were at home to Acrrington as we embarked on our run for the title with Jacob Walcott returning to Reading and not surprisingly Ismael Fofana who I had on the bench for this game is now wanted. Given his form it had to happen sooner or later. Accrington came to play and put out a very attacking line up and had us pinned back for most of the game and after falling behind it was a Shane Williams 25 yard effort that rescued a point from what was really a very poor performance. The news came through that Stockport got hammered away at Bournemouth 4-1 so we were promoted!
Next up was a trip to Southend where once again we put in a very poor performance allowing the home side a massive 21 shots with 8 on target and 2 blocked. If it were not for Martin Hansen’s performance between the posts the result would have been very different. Oliver Nicholas headed in the only goal of the game from a Fofana free kick for an undeserved three points but it was enough to clinch the title to the delight of the travelling Red Dragon fans.
With the title now secure we still had three games to play and were truly embarrassed in front of our home fans as Yeovil took us apart in an easy 3-1 victory. We sort of made amends in a scintillating draw with our bitter rivals Shrewsbury but then saved the best for last with a 5-1 demolition of Burton at The Racecourse Ground to finish off a fantastic season in front of just over 8,000 fans which was our biggest attendance so far.

Board Reaction
Manager of the year!!
Although the season is now over there is still work to be done with several players and coaches having contracts that are due to expire over the off season. I’m sure given the back to back promotions some of the players will be attracting the attention of bigger clubs so I think I’m in for a very challenging summer in terms of keeping both squad and backroom staff together particular as there is currently no available funds to renew any contracts.
Thanks for following along this past season and be sure to check back for the 2012 / 2013 pre-season report.

Congratulations Kevin, a brilliant season for you and you totally deserve your promotion. Well done and hopefully you can keep your star players in pre season, you will surely need them in League 1 next season. Looking forward to seeing how you get on in pre season.

Hi Laxeyman
It was a thrilling season for sure and keeping my key players is a must. Hopefully the board will come up with the money for salaries

Great stuff mate, congratulations! Your wage budget should be increased shortly so I wouldn’t worry too much about that, let’s just hope that the board won’t sell any of the players behind your back!

Cheers Johnny
That’s my biggest fear that the players will be sold without telling me :)

Hi Kevin,
Havent commented in a while but I have still been reading and just want to say congratulations on winning the league and you are the deserved winner of manager of the year. By the way where can i download your background skin?
Kevin
3 января, 2011 at 13:53
Hello Frank
Thanks for your comment and for the compliment too. I’m happy you like the skin and in fact it’s part of the game.
At the top right of the game screen there is a small FM drop down menu button which when clicked contains amongst other things «Preferences». If you click on that then look for Display and Sounds in the new window that opens and its there you can change the skin which in this case is called Retro. I just find it easier to read.
Hope this helps.

Great work Kevin, thats a really good way to bring in the new year and you’ll be playing League One football next season :) 96 points makes the win look very easy and I’m looking forward to a jam packed pre-season. You’ll need to strengthen but have done wonders so far so I have no doubt you’ll manage fine. Well done mate.

Thanks Ana
100 points would of been nice but I’m not that bothered about it. Have got my eye on some new players already plus will try to bring back a couple of this seasons loan signings to keep some continuity.

Hi Kevin,
Congratulations on another successive promotion and title win. Looking forward to your board giving you some money to spend for new players. League 1 will be interesting as there are some traditional teams who never recover since relegated. Good luck on signing the new players.
