The Alphabet Challenge

FM 2015 challenge for fanatics.

The Alphabet Challenge is a very unorthodox FM 2015 challenge. You go through the nations in alphabetic order. In most cases people only do Europe. Starting in Austria you take over the team that are predicted to finish last in the Austrian First Division. The lowest playable tier in Austria. Ending in Wales you have to win the national championship in every country on your way.

Your adaptability rating as a manager will help you get better jobs in other countries so a higher rating will make for an easier game right from the start. Another more important aspect is manager reputation. So when you get a good rep do not be afraid to undermine badly performing managers of good teams to get a better team.

Playing well with a smaller team can get you a better job so getting a smaller team does not have to be a loss. Getting a key national team job can also get you much needed reputation. Asian national teams with all the regional cups can help be key here. After the first few league wins you should have picked up the rep needed to speed through most nations. You don’t have to stick with the team you start with. If you get a better job so take it. It’s a long challenge so sticking to teams with small resources is a bad idea.

Nations with a dominating team can be hard to crack. Using players from abroad is almost a must to give you the edge. The league is your priority at all times and using the cups for your reserve players. Brazil and Africa are good places to scout. Asia could be good option but that would be the 3rd choice if you have only 1 or 2 scouts.
