Hello fellow FM gamers and welcome back to my Plymouth story. This update will be a rather short one simply because I’ve been only able to play five games in an entire week so based on that effort I may just get Plymouth to the EPL before FM 2013 comes out! What can I tell you, I’m working at the office, on the subway and at home…not good.
We began the month at home to Southend who took control of the first 30 minutes but failed to make anything of it and paid the price as Marques headed in from a Simon Walton free kick. The Southend defence proved tricky to break down but we managed a second goal as left winger Will Atkinson tapped in from close range. Southend did manage a consolation goal late in the game.
Our 100% record finally ended away to Port Vale after Asante had given us the lead in the first half, slipping two defenders and toe-poking the ball home. A mistake by left back Ben Reeves proved to be our undoing with 9 minutes left on the clock as Port Vale snatched an equalizer.
It was back to winning ways as we brushed aside Shrewsbury at Home Park as Derby’s Alex Witham on loan for three months got his first goal, deputising for Simon Walton. Asante scored again with a real poachers’ effort from inside the six yard box off a cross from right winger Luke Daley who had a sensational game ending with a rating of 9.0 and the man of the match award.
Chelsea’s Marko Mitrovic agree to join us for three months and failed to make any real impression as we finally tasted defeat in the league away to Bradford City. It just wasn’t our day with Asante hitting the side netting several times and Rui Marques saw 2 headers hit the woodwork and another FOUR cleared off the line. Yes, we had to lose at some point but not in such an unlucky manner especially as the only goal of the game was caused by another deflected ball into the path of an opposing striker!
Rui Marques was equally as unlucky in our following game at home to Crewe hitting the woodwork three times before Asante gave us the lead from close range after 35 minutes. Central defender Soukouna put us two up with a headed in free kick before Asante added a third with a stylish effort just after the hour whcih you can view from clicking the link below.
Asante Goal
Results Summary
With one draw and a defeat we surrendered top spot in the table to Rotherham but are only a point behind though have a nice little cushion over third place Swindon.
Asante’s two goals against Crewe means he has scored nine in ten games and leads the standings in my «Super Sevens».
I’m very pleased with the team’s effort these opening copule of months because as you will see much of my first team is under 20 years of age.
On the injury front Kaby is almost ready to return to action as is left back Onismor Bhasera who was injured before pre-season. I’m excited to see him in action especially as he looks to be an ideal fit for my left flank tactic.
Well now that you know this «save» is still active I will be switching to two month updates and here are the upcoming fixtures over that time period.
Well, that’s it for this short update so thanks for taking the time to read it and have a great weekend!

It’s great to see Asante delivering the goodies, I had him at Vauxhall Motors in FM 11 and although he had potential he never really impressed. That defeat was bound to come sooner or later so I wouldn’t worry too much, you’re still looking strong. Good luck for the coming months!

I forgot about him being at Vauxhall though I’m glad I have Asante than any other team. Not too worried about losing though we were unlucky though

Well done Kevin, that was a decent month and as Johnny said you can’t avoid defeat forever. Asante is surely your top asset so far but I think you can get through the season and get promotion with or without him as the entire unit seems strong.

Thanks Darren
Very surpised really at how this young team is playing and I hope Asante stays fit all season long!

Getting more games played is this weekends priority :)

You’re still doing really well and I am sure that the team will bounce back and get past Rotherham again.
Regarding the free time to play the game — don’t lose hope! I have only been able to play 5 games this week as well, so you’re not alone and I can feel your pain :)

Thanks Calin, good to know someone is in the same boat as me though I tend to forget what i’m doing if I stay away too long.

I love those crazy «There’s no way that should’ve been a goal» goals! I call them «Gerrards», owing homage to his mastery of the 25+ yard strike.
Aside from that, you’re looking solid as you approach the quarter-season mark. You can expect to eat a few losses in a 46 game season, and I see you still sitting near the top come May. Keep up the good work my northern neighbor, and don’t forget to relax!

Very nicely put :)
Oh yeah i’m not woried about losing a few -it’s just the manner of which is somtiimes frustrating. I hope to relax with some FM this weekend. BTW lucky you in missing all that recent snow :)

Hi Kevin,
The defeat will come sooner or later so there’s no worry on that. On loan Asante is on form for you and you still can get the best out of him. Hopefully he will keep scoring to drive you up on top. Good luck.

Hello Lye
Asante is brilliant to watch and I hope his form continues as we don’t have much depth up front.

Shame about the first defeat and the mountain of work Kevin, but you still had a good month there, so well done :) Asante has been fantastic so far, hopefully he can keep up the good work.

Cheers Laxeyman
Asante is a real gem and key right now to our good form.

Asante is driving you on! That was quite a good goal, make him a permanent buy! The defeat was expected, but the way you recover is more important.
Kevin

Hi vaibhavc!!
He really is doing the business for us and I hope he keeps it up. I’d like to buy him if the board will give me some money!!

First defeat is always annoying!
But at least your team reacted with a win, your defence is really doing well with only 5 against.
Asante is your star would be nice if you get him permanently so the best of luck! :)

Hola Ana
Yeah, didn’t like the way we lost but you have to at some point. Good point about my defence — they are pretty decent.

A real shame about the defeat to Bradford, but they are not an easy team to beat, because they have a few players with some real pace. In my game they’re struggling in 22nd, but don’t look like a team that should be that low in the table.
The important thing is to put that defeat behind you, because you’re still in a strong position, and those other teams around you will surely slip up sooner or later too.

Like others said, shame you lost to Bradford but hey you’re still comfortably in the promotion places. Good luck ;)
