Lucas — FM 2011 player profile of a future Brazilian starlet

Hey guys and welcome to my first Football Manager 2011 player profile since the sites merger. I did a fair few of these on my old site, but put them on hold while moving. Now all is sorted, I can continue sharing my favourite players. Today’s player profile is that of Lucas, a true wonderkid in real life and FM 2011. After some overwhelming support I decided to finally do his profile. :) While Lucas still plays for Sao Paulo of Brazil, he is sure to move to Europe soon. This post should not only encourage you to buy the young midfielder on Football Manager, but also track is career in real life.

Lucas

Age — 17 years old

Position — Anywhere in midfield or upfront, but best as AMC

Club — Sao Paulo (Brazil)

Nationality — Brazilian

Value — £6.25 million

Price tag — £3.6 million minimum fee release clause (in patch 11.3.0)

Lucas Piazon starting attributes

The above screenshot is taken from a new Football Manager game using patch 11.3.0. Lucas has some good attributes for a 17 year old, his strengths being dribbling, technique, flair and acceleration. However, the value lies in his potential ability. This kid has a lot of room to grow and I’ve heard many gamers rave about him. Below is a scouts rating from one of Arsenal’s best backroom staff.

Has the potential to be similar to Fabregas, he can’t be bad then. Also seen as a leading star for the future, Cagigao rates this wonderkid as a four star. Remember this report is based on the Arsenal team, so Lucas is been compared to Fabregas, Wilshere, Nasri and many more. Add a price tag of £3.6 million and this Brazilian wonderkid is irresistible. Now lets take a look at his attributes in 2018. The screenshot below is taken from my UEC game.

Now maybe some of you will see why I’ve held off on this profile. During my game, Lucas doesn’t reach his potential, in fact he falls a mile short. While the Brazilians understanding of the game is much improved, his physical and technical attributes leave much to be desired. I wouldn’t take much notice of this screenshot, and just see it as the midfielders worst case scenario. Lucas did however play some nice football in Russia after signing for Spartak Moscow. Below are the 17 year olds career stats.

My best buy rating — 8.8/10

That rating would have been a 10 if not for my UEC game and Lucas falling short of his potential. At £3.6 million he is probably the best cheap player around…but only if you can get the best out of him. Well I hope this profile helped some of you and get ready for more. Until next time thanks for reading and I look forward to your comments. If you want more player profiles, there is a list below.

Paulo Henrique (Ganso)

My boyfriend would be very happy if he could be as good as Fabregas!!

Interesting how Chelsea managed to sign him I thought with work permits etc it was very difficult to sign non-eu players? Especially players under 21….

But he looks really good in game despite playing in Russia looks very consistant I might check him out for my Coruxo team!

    :)

Unfortunately Ana, it seems I made a mistake in identifying Lucas. Its not the one signing for Chelsea :( Brazilian names can get confused with ease as I have done here. Still a good player though.

On my Vuaxhall game, he has never left Sao Paulo and he’s currently 24 with worse stats than that :/ But then again I haven’t got the Brazilian leagues so that will have decreased his growth :) But I’m sure under the right management he could be a quality player!

Tbh Vinners, Lucas has great stats and a lot of potential. But I fear he may not reach it. Hopefully the right training and man management could help.

I have had a similar experience with Lucas. I have signed him a couple of times for teams in the English Premiere League because of his excellent starting stats for a 17-year-old, combined with his reasonable price tag and my scouts raving about him. He always seems to stall in his development after a while. He plays very well for me, but he never takes the next leap and never really begins to make magic happen the way I’ve seen with some other players like Lukaku or Ganso. Still a great purchase if you understand his limitations.

Yeh its weird to see so much talent just stop for no reason. I guess if he plays well thats the main thing.

The key to his development as a player might be to sign him up early and then give him some proper development (could be that he has low adaptability so he might take more time to settle into another country)

Worth a buy at 3.6 million pounds though for a player with his potential, compared to the insane price tags of ganso and neymar

I agree mate, signing him at a young age is important. Then you have full control over his development.

Darren, actually i don’t want to say this but
you post two different people on one post, let me explain
Lucas Domingues Piazon is 16 yrs old,and his position is Striker and AMC
Lucas Rodrigues Moura Da Silva is 17 yrs old,and his position is AMC,AML,and Striker
Lucas Piazon which is signed by Chelsea, and the cool one :P
Lucas isn’t go to anywhere this year(next season, maybe)
whatever, two people with insane attribute :) and huge potential
Lucas(not Piazon)is one of the best value player this year, because with 3,5 mill you can bring great player.
and for people doubt him,buy him because he is insane(and cheap)
    cheers :)

Haha you’re right. The Lucas that he is profiling here (it is the correct one, in fact) is actually named Lucas Rodrigues Moura da Silva in the game. Good catch!

Thanks for the info Timmy. I have adapted the post accordingly. Can’t believe how shocking Piazon is on the game. It took me an age to find him but you’re right I was talking about two players. Thanks

No problem Hils, he’s not the best but very good for the price in my opinion.

    Hey Darren
Im a little confused here, I have no idea which player I just saw after seeing the comments. And in my game, his tactical attributes are hopeless.

    • Timmy

      1 апреля, 2011 at 17:55

      Vaibhav
this is player profile about Lucas Rodrigues Moura Da Silva, not Lucas Piazon
(there is two Lucas on Sao Paulo)
yep,i feel same with you his tactical attributes is hopeless,at first, but with good development he will be a beast
btw the pic is Piazon not Da Silva
      cheers :)

Timmy is right Vaibhav. I started the post with screenshots and FM details of a player called Lucas. But got mixed up when talking about him in real life and started detailing someone who plays for the same club and has the same name called Lucas Piazon. Since then I have deleted all the Lucas Piazon parts and corrected the post. Now your looking at Lucas who is 17 and plays for Sao Paulo. Sorry for the confusion.

I was looking to pick this guy up myself in my game with Stoke City. I bought Erik Lamela instead, since his work permit finally passed. I may have to buy him next season, cheers for the profile ;)

No problem Squealy, I though his scout report was incredible and couldn’t resist the profile. :)

  9. Laxeyman

He looks pretty good Darren, I signed him for Liverpool on a different FM save, and he was pretty good, filling in well when called upon. He would be a good signing I’m sure.

    • Darren Smith

      1 апреля, 2011 at 18:39

Thanks Laxeyman. Lucas has great potential but should be a sub in the Premier League at least.

Super post bud. What are the odds that this Lucas kid will sign for me on free with Queens Park?? :-p

    • Darren Smith

      2 апреля, 2011 at 14:11

Thanks Sears, and I think my pet rabbit could be named prime minister before he signs to Queens Park on a free lol ;) Then again FM is a weird game!

I bought him with my arsenal save and despite his poorish stats in his first season he was getting a place ahead of arshavin in my starting 11 which won the league and champions league double but i was pushing him hard as i really liked the look of him.

He is a good player, Kevin and I believe you’re doing the right thing…first team football is what makes a player world class.

I got him for United, played 2nd fiddle to Kaka, went out on loan and when Kaka moved on he came in, 103 games 34 gls not bad for a midfielder. and 54 assists :)

    • Darren Smith

      17 сентября, 2011 at 12:38

Well he seems to have replaced Kaka incredibly well and that goal/assist ratio is certainly impressive.
