Sorry about that Kevin but I think that you should try to recover those saved games because it is possible, at least in theory. The first question would be whether you have formatted your disk or not, that would make the recovery a bit more difficult but still possible. I can guide you through the process if you want, just let me know.

That’s unfortunate Kevin. I’d tons of problems when I got my new computer and I had to keep sending it away to be fixed. I hope you continue writing, your stories are amazing and I love reading them.

Thanks for your support. Having come back from church I’ve calmed down a bit and I’m more upset at losing a Powerpoint I was working on so back to the drawing board on both counts.

You really are cursed with computers Kevin. I’m so sorry to hear that, I can’t even imagine how I’d feel if the same thing happened at my end. Like everyone else, I’ve been enjoying both stories, but you should do what is best for you. Maybe take a few days to reflect and I’m sure it will all seem better soon. Sorry again mate. :(

That’s a real shame mate. I’ve heard that HP’s have quite a high crash rate (although I’ve had no problems with my HP at all, other than occasional crashes on old games running on compatibility mode for older OS’s) so it might be worth trying to get another model if you can find one.

Sorry to hear that. I can’t believe the bad luck you are having with your FM game. I always feel HP has the most reliable computers. It’s demoralizing but i wish it doesn’t dampen your energy to start another new game. Can’t wait to see another story by you.

2 months old? Call in your warranty and have it replaced :P
You could try and see if your save files can be recovered, but if you can’t I hope you can find hope in a new game
You could also copy your save games to a pen drive after you exit the game

Wow! I hate IT issues. I reckon I know what the issue is with your PCs. What antivirus do you have?
I recommend to get either AVG Antivirus (free version), or Webroot Antivirus software and scan your pc on regular basis. I reckon you have issues with spyware and adware on your pc’s.
They multiply and after some time, over-run your ram with rubbish so that this affects your pc speed and ability to run programs.
Most of these are just cookies which send back your internet activity and have no bearing on your long-term usage of pc. However, some of them are a gateway to a malicious software code opening a port to upload a spyware and crash your pc or multiply on your pc and effectively shut it down.
You should look at your internet activity and eliminate viewing any email attachments (even if you scan them) or visiting suspicious websites. Always, and I mean always update your antivirus software and scan the computer regularly.

Good luck with the new game, and remember, it’s just IT problems. Also, unless you have formatted your old hard drive, all the data on the drive is still accessable, so you can access it by removing your hard drive from your computer and plugging it into an external hard drive housing, and placing a new hard-drive into your pc (with the new OS uploaded). I’ve done this on many occassions as 3 of my pc’s were online when a lightning struck the phone line!!!!!! HAHAHAHA if anyone tells me that lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, I’m your evidence it does…that was not fun at all…this happened all within a space of 6 months, so I’ve become somewhat of a pro and now have UPS system, overload blocker and surf internet over a wireless device.
