Hey everyone, welcome back to FMS community story!
Last month was our first in the division, and we pretty much hit the ground running as we lay in the promotion places in the Championship after the 5 games we had. Yes, we suffered a heavy loss to Barnsley away from Patriots Park and failed to get any further in the League Cup after an exit at the hands of Blackburn, but we also had a massive win against Sheffield United! Would it be another roller-coaster month?
FMS vs Preston (Championship)
First game of the month saw us at home to fellow relegation battlers Preston at Patriots Park. FMS took the lead within the opening 15 minutes to set their stadium rocking, a corner by Dezmo on the left failed to find anyone in the middle. It looked as though all hopes of a chance were lost but Sears managed to grab the ball on the other wing, turn and stick a delightful cross on the head of Smith who turned it into the Preston net. Chance after chance went begging for the home side but they couldn’t extend their lead further. After the break though, it was much the same. Smith coming the closest when he smashed a fierce shot against the crossbar before his pass set Pepper free to score the second goal and give FMS some breathing space. Preston failed to carve anything open in the final 20 minutes though, and the points were the home sides after a very solid performance.

Q.P.R vs FMS (Championship)
FMS’s second game of the month saw them travel to London, to face a QPR side sitting in the promotion places. Things got off to the best of starts for the away side, as they scored within 3 minutes. It all started from a QPR freekick in the centre circle, which lead to their midfielder being dispossessed by Johnson. A combination of Dully, Pepper and Smith helped move the ball up the right flank before Dully set Pepper free inside the box. His initial shot was saved by Kenny, but he made no mistake from the rebound to give his team a dream start. From then on, QPR started pilling on the pressure to get back on level terms but it seemed like they had forgotten their defensive duties as FMS went 2-0 up after 32 minutes! Edwards getting tackled by Crosby, who’s run down the left flank lead him to the byline, to cut it back for the ever grateful Smith to control beautifully and hit home from a tight angle. After the break, there was not much between the two sides, but QPR managed to grab one back after a corner from Bellvis found the unmarked head of Hall. They didn’t seem interested to salvage anything from the match however and the 3 points went back to Scunthorpe!
Video Highlights: Here
FMS vs Cardiff (Championship)
Beautiful day at Patriots Park saw FMS host the other Welsh team Cardiff to try and keep their run of form going. It got off to the best of starts to as the home side took the lead within the first 5 minutes! Sea clearing the back line from a Cardiff thrown in before the ball found Smith on the half way line. His pass opened the space for Crosby on the left wing and with a few exchanges from Dezmo and Jagginman, the ball found its way to Rodrigo. Clean through, his shot took a deflection off Salukvadze which took it past the Cardiff keeper. Thing went from bad to worse, as Chopra was sent off for an aggressive lunge on Jagginman and Dami sealed off a great half time for the boys in blue as an exchange with Smith found him clean through as his smashed the ball past the keeper. Second half saw a goal from either side, FMS first with a cross from Pepper on the right hand side saw a pull-back from Crosby hit home by Smith while Cardiff grabbed a consolation goal when a quikcly taken freekick found Naylor who didn’t miss inside the FMS box.
Video Highlights: Here
Millwall vs FMS (Championship)
Penultimate match of the month and it was away in London again against Millwall. The home side were looking the most deadly in the opening few minutes as they came close on a number of occasions and nearly scored a freak goal as Vaibhavc’s free-kick on the left wing after an offside was met by Barron. Nearly on the edge of his box, he smashed it all and was unlucky to not see it sail into the empty net as it whistled just wide of the post. They did take the lead in equally sublime fashion though, Lisbie finding some space on the edge on the area who rifled it into the far corner. FMS weren’t down and out just yet though, and they scored on the break just before half time. Pepper getting the ball after a cleared corner, running the length of the pitch before teeing up Crosby who connected well with it on the volley seeing it fly into the bottom corner. After half time it was tit for tat, but another breakaway from a corner saw the away side take the lead. This time Plobdork finding MRDNRA wide on the right hand side who’s cross was fumbled in by Pepper. It was a tense affair from then on, but FMS managed to hold on to secure 3 vital points.
Video Highlights: Here
FMS vs Leicester (Championship)
Last game of the month saw FMS take on the might of Sven as they faced Leicester at Patriots Park. First action of the game was actually an injury, Von Karma getting injured on his debut back into the first team. We will know the extent of his injury after the game but it doesn’t look good for the young German. On the field, it was very cagey and there was little in the way of chances until a Leicester break saw them inches away from scoring, but at point blank range Matty B saved well. Things went in all square at half time, but not before the away side were pegged down to 10 men. Niller’s jinxing run as he cut inside from the right was too much for Meite and he was shown a straight red for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Even with 10 men, Leicester looked dangerous as Matty B saved again from Dyer, but FMS were happy to see the game out with a point to increase their hold on those promotion places.
Von Karma’s injury was as bas as first thought, and he will be out for 5-6 weeks again.
Video Highlights: No Goals, No Highlights. So I have a picture of a cat instead :)

Daaanng, awful snappy on these updates! Looks like we’re doing pretty well in the league, and I’d frankly be shocked if we didn’t at least end up in the promotion playoffs (but really, a title is all we’ll accept — no pressure).
Looks like everyone is developing pretty nicely, and my little pixel soldier even managed to bag himself a goal! He appears to be doing reasonably well for himself in the reserve squad, but I’m worried he doesn’t have much of a Premier League career ahead of him. :(

Nothing to do while i’m not working, so don’t be surprised if there is one tonight! Haha, crap.. Well we are sitting at the top of the league at the moment, so I dont see why we cant.
Woo! He has a future ahead of him, he has the potential and with Premier League clubs sniffing around taking a look at you, I think you will have a decent career in the Premier League :)

«Hey boss, great to see I got the armband for the Sheffield Wednesday and Macclesfield [U18] games, just wish I could have inspired the lads to a win against Sheffield. Oh well. Keep up the good work with the senior team, I hope September is just as good as this month has been for all the teams, good luck!»

«Thanks son, hoping to get you some vital experience down there so I can introduce you into the first team. With any luck, that should happen over the next 3 months. Your performances have been very pleasing, keep them up!»

With this kind of form we should hopefully be playing Premier League football next season. Personally I do hope that there is not too much interest in Pepper as I really enjoying playing for the patriots.
Whens the next time you are going to post the player profiles. Will it be at the end of the season so sooner as I would like to see what development I have made over the past few months.

10 июня, 2011 at 18:39
Warren, are you Pepper?? If so how funny is it that the two toon fans make are scoring the most goals. lol :)
Excessive
10 июня, 2011 at 23:27
That’s what I’m hoping for!! :D
Luckily there is no-one interested in you, which is great for us as your playing amazing football for FMS at the moment. As for the player profiles, they will be updated on January the first as I feel 6 months is the right amount of time to judge player development.
Also Darren, you had a discussion about this on the July post?! Haha ;)

And Darren its obviously because of all the high class finishing we are used to watching week in week out at Newcastle. Were like the new Shearer and Ameobi

Arggghhhhh……. I think I’m the next Jonathan Woodgate… Out for a month then out for 2 months??? Please help me train up my natural fitness!!! Please check out my injury proneness…

I know mate, it sucks :(
Injury proneness — 6 so your not that injury prone, just unlucky it seems mate..

11 июня, 2011 at 11:33
Just wondering, how did I pick up my injury? I realized some teams like to tackle your defenders and injure them… I once had this match where 3 of my back 4 were injured… Good to know I’m not the next Jonathan Woodgate though. Bloody hope I’m going back onto the team soon enough and don’t get injured in my debut after my injury again. If I really do get injured again when I return, maybe you could loan me out to another club in the lower leagues, which are not as physically strong so that I can get some playing time at the least. Anyway great job out there and I’m looking forward to seeing us like Norwich this season.

I don’t quite understand why I’m not being given a chance to play with the first team as I am playing quite well with the U18’s and Reserves. I do not wish to be loaned out though as I am confident that I will impress you.
I have also noticed that some other players have not been given a chance with the 1st team and they are playing quite well with the other teams.
I think you should be more considerable otherwise more people will be asking for a transfer to another club mate.
Excessive
10 июня, 2011 at 23:39
At the moment JPB, your in the same boat as Sibo whereby I am trying to get you experienced enough in the U18 squad so you can compete in the Championship. As is everyone else, and because of the tough fixture list, I wanted to play the more developed players.
Now, we have a little more relaxed fixture list, I will be giving a few of the non-starters a chance.

Hey Excessive
I did pretty well except for that match where I got a 6 rating, and now my place has been taken over by Matty B. He played pretty well in that game against Leceister.
Excessive

That’s true mate, he had a stormer against Leicester. Will see how it pans out with him inbetween the sticks for a few games, but you have both been pretty solid :)

10 июня, 2011 at 16:55
Hmm, I don’t really want to leave the club! Are there any clubs interested in the transfer? And another question: why did you take me off after just 14 minutes against Hartlepool Reserves? I feel that we might have mutiny in the dressing room soon :)
Btw, I have resized the thumbnail logo, it should display fine now:

Haha, cheers Johnny!
Actually, you are wanted by:
Al-Arabi
Al-Wahda
One of them wanted you on loan, but their facilities were so poor, I decided against it ;)
Oh, and I am not in charge of the reserve games, so I have no idea what my assistant was doing!
Johnny Karp
11 июня, 2011 at 09:26
Then you should sack the assistant! :) And please don’t sell me to Al-Something, I don’t want to go there!

I’m happy to see that I’ve been making the bench for most games boss.
Even if it means I’ll only be a benchwarmer, I’m happy to do so, and wait for my opportunity.
Maybe soon I’ll get my chance.
I’m also glad to see that we’re progressing nicely in the League.

My player seems to be having good games in the reserves, but not hard when they rest of the team is playing so well. Can you see a break through into the first team for me anytime soon? I’m in no hurry :) Can your next screenshot of me include the stats at the bottom of my profile too, such as goals, assists, passing etc? And how’s my training going? Lots of question, would appreciate some answers if you have time :) Great job mate!
Excessive
10 июня, 2011 at 23:51
Everyone will be given a chance in the coming months mate, dont worry about that!
As for the stats, I will post them up in the next update, If I can remember to ;)
Lastly, your training alright yeah.. Hard to tell, but as we are updating the pictures every 6 months, you will be able to gauge your progress ;)

10 июня, 2011 at 18:44
Great stuff Jake, you’re managing the team well and winning the big matches. If me and Pepper can keep scoring promotion is guaranteed lol :) Only kidding, the whole team has been amazing and there’s so much talent to call on in the reserves too!! My only question is am I injured? Noticed a minor injury in the highlights and no game after…I didn’t see anything written about an injury though. Keep up the good work.
Excessive
10 июня, 2011 at 23:53
Cheers mate! Haha, that’s true.. So many players could be playing, but as you two have cemented yourself as players that I can rely on, I had to use you for the big games. As for the injury, you missed 10 days and a match but nothing serious don’t worry ;)

A good balance of games I managed to play this month, a couple for the first team, couple on the bench and a couple for the reserves :)
Could you tell me what position I played in the first team and what position I played for the reserves as I scored a couple of goals and got higher average ratings for the reserves (my player is McLean).
Another great post, at this rate we could win all three leagues this season :)
Excessive
10 июня, 2011 at 23:54
Yeah, McLean you play right attacking mid when I play you. Doing really well at present! :)
Overall, your average is 6.80.

Oh dear, players missing training and handing in transfer requests? Oh well maybe Johnny will finally get the first team football that he craves so much, but a Saudi side? Would be good if a player just wanted to make money, but in terms of development as a player……..guess not :P
Oh yeah, am I being tutored by someone at birmingham? Just wanted to know if I am learning some more from Johnson or Jiranek
