Hey everyone, I’m back with a well anticipated episode which will take us through October!

So last month was a pretty good one for us lot, having seen us smash out way to the top of the table with vital wins at promotion contenders QPR and Cardiff. I was pretty confident that we could hold on to top spot with the games that we had this month as they were all against teams lower down the league. Never to underestimate though, so lets get to it!

Ipswich vs FMS (Championship)

First game of the month saw us travel south east to face an Ipswich side that were sitting near the foot of the league. It didn’t deter their spirit though, and they came out all guns blazing at the start of the game, troubling Vaibhavc in the FMS goal on numerous occasions in the first 20 minutes. It didn’t look as though the away side could carve anything out of the game until a storming counter saw them go infront. Rodrigo picking the ball up after a clearance from Sears, laying it off to Crosby and receiving it at the other end to place it in the bottom corner. That’s how the sides went in at half time then, but the home side were pumping themselves up for the last 45. A smash at the crossbar before a headed goal from Soares saw them pull it back midway through the second half. Their enthusiasm for the game deteriorated from then on, seeing the away side score an goal through MRDNRA which was cancelled out through offside, much to the despair of the travelling fans who only took a point with them back to Scunthorpe.

FMS vs Nottingham Forest (Championship)

Next game saw Billy Davies’ Forest (well, not anymore if you have read the news..) come up to Scunthorpe to face the lads in blue. They came out fighting and controlled the first 15 minutes, wasting a few valuable chances in the process. They could have been costly too, had Rodrigo put away his one on one opportunity but his effort was straight at the keeper. Just past the 30 minute mark and the game sparked into life after a flurry of corners for the home side. Their efforts were wasted, but from the resulting goal kick, Johnson managed to set Smith free inside the Forest box. He didn’t disappoint either, taking his chance and slotting it past the keepers right hand side. FMS saw the first half out in a controlled display, a very pleasing display from the lads. Second half was much like the first, Forrest dominating the opening while the home side dominated the latter. Little in the way of clear cut chances though which meant the one goal was enough to get all three points.

Middlesbrough vs FMS (Championship)

Riverside (Mother F**?) next for the boys from Scunthorpe to play ex-premier league opponents Middlesbrough who are currently sitting mid-table. Their history must have been found as from no-where the home side were 2-0 up inside the first 20 minutes! First one was an absolute stunner. Free-kick on the left hand side was nodded out to the edge of the box. First attempt from Zemmama was blocked, but on the volley he crashed his second into the top corner. Kris Boyd then rounded off the early rout with an equally well taken attempt as he found the top left hand corner. The half ended with the visitors 2-0 down, but a strong start led them to a famous comeback in the north east. Crosby materialising the first as his bolting run up the left hand side found Dezmo in the box to head home after a quick counter attack. Injury time came and it was looking like they would not fathem enough motivation for an equalising goal, until Dully dispatched Zemmama inside the centre circle. His pass found McLean, who held it up and picked out Crosby to set him free and send the away fans (and me..) into an eruption of joy.

FMS vs Derby (Championship)

Successive midlands clubs to come to Patriots Park, this time it was Derby. The rams are another one that are nurturing past memories but unlike Middleborough, that did little to help them as FMS took an early lead. Crosby getting the ball in the centre, and laying it off to Dezmo. His charge down the left hand side resulted in a cross which was met with the foot of Rodrigo who saw his effort sail into the bottom left hand corner. It got better for the home side too as goal scorer turned provider. His cross from the near side found Yank, who shrugged off the players around him to nod in and make it 2-0. There was little in the way of chances from then on and FMS made their dominance pay as they went in two goals to the good at half time. The final 45 minutes saw a few scary moments for the home side as Derby threatened to get one back, but it was all too easy and the fans will be happy seeing their side pull another win out of the bag.

Hull vs FMS (Championship)

Final game of the month and it was a trip over the Humber bridge to meet rivals Hull. Things got off to the best of starts for FMS as they scored in the 3 minute! Pepper’s shot was saved by Mannone in the Hull goal, but from the resulting Dezmo corner, Plobdork ghosted in at the back post to score a crashing header. A couple of chances for the home side here and there went without answer, so the half drew shut with the score at 1-0. After the break though saw more of the same dominance from the away side, but it was a Hull masterclass that brought them back level as Cairney laid off Barmby on the edge of the area who smashed a shot right into the far corner showing that the veteran still had some life in him yet. After that goal, it was all Hull and their eagerness to score finally paid off with two minutes of normal time to spare. Another smashing shot from outside the area saw Koren take a leaf out of Barmby’s book to seal all three points and subdue the league leaders to only their second defeat of the season!

So this is where we left the table going into November..

Very tight at the top as you can imagine, but we do have some breathing space despite that loss to Hull. Just look at all the teams of 27 points!

Strange month for me, two call ups to the 1st team bench, a game on the bench for the reserves, a half time appearance for the reserves and a full game, am I Mr Inconsistent? Haha would like to see a screenshot of my full profile, including goals, assists, etc? But you might be doing that after the 6 month mark :)

Great to see I have been playing from time to time now.
I did notice an injury on the first match, but I was in the squad the next match.
Thanks for giving me a chance boss!
What did you think of my performances?
Do you think I should be training on something specifically?

Nice to see I scored two goals with the U18s. Maybe I will start to get noticed. I have been very consistent with the U18s and Reserves, I hope that I will be getting a game with the seniors before January.

Can’t wait for your next episode. When will the new profile updates come out?

    • Excessive

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:28

Profile’s will come out with the January update!
You did mate, and I tried to get you involved with the first team, but you had U18 duty on the same day. Probably going to keep you in there until you come on a professional contract.

It is good to see Johnny getting first-team action so he won’t leave! I am playing well, but I am so inconsistent! Good to see I got man of the match against Ispwich.

so boss i would really like to try to train in a diffrent position such as center back or maybe even midfield center

    • Excessive

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:31

You are right back/centre back, and I dont feel like centre mid will do you much good with the attributes you have! I can do it if you want though?

«Hey boss, I seem to be playing well in the U18s as ever, the senior team is looking solid so another good month for us. But seriously? 9.1 in the Sunderland game and not MotM?!? Well done to Bushy though, he had a great game. I’m looking forward to November, let’s keep up the good work!»

We’re doing great boss, nicely done! I hope that my in-game ego gave up on the thought of leaving the club.

I played for the reserves with rating usually around 8.0 in the previous months and now ive just gone! have i been dropped or gone out on loan? (Samlar)

    • Excessive

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:34

Nope your still here bud. Not why he isn’t playing you, because the reserves aren’t managed by me. Dont worry, you’ll be back i’m sure :)

    14 июня, 2011 at 11:21

Me being dropped down to the reserves was purely to give everyone else a chance or is it because I havent been training/performing too well recently. Just so I know so that I can buck my ideas up in training

    • Excessive

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:35

Actually, you needed some game time after an injury so I stuck you in the reserves ;)

Great update! I’m seeing that I’ve only played one game each month for the reserves these past two months. Hopefully I’ll play better in the future and may be called up to the first team. :)

Nice results. I’m definately putting my money on you guys to be promoted. I’ll like to know how i’m (Joshy) doing in Liverpool though. Any other first team appearances?

  14. Darren Smith

    14 июня, 2011 at 12:03

Good update Jake, we’re flying in the league and should get stronger as other clubs cope with fatigue and injuries. Our squad is huge and as you say offers a massive advantage. So gutted I’m injured but it could be worse. Hopefully will recover and not be the next Owen!

    • Excessive

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:38

Well your touted as the next ‘Owen’ so make that of what you will ;)

Thanks mate, but it does give a chance to the guys waiting on the bench yeah. Hopefully they can keep bagging the goals!

      • Darren Smith

        16 июня, 2011 at 11:54

I guess been touted as the next Owen means the next big thing in England/or a striker that will be amazing ad flop after 5 seasons…hhmmmm

No games for me this month, oh well i can wait, im bound to get a chance soon and good results this month

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:39

Hopefully you can mate, not sure why he isn’t picking you..
Doing really well in training though!

  16. Tom Miller

    14 июня, 2011 at 17:39

    Nice :D
How long am I injured for?

  17. Wilfred Von Karma

    14 июня, 2011 at 18:25

Damn my injury. Got to wait two more posts to see how I fare on my second appearance. I’m sure that Darren Smith being out will be a big loss to the team but it’s going to give more time for the reserves. If we continue our run like this, we’ll walk right into the Prem like QPR! Go Patriots!!!

      16 июня, 2011 at 11:40

I know, it sucks.. But the lads are putting it in, so hopefully we can press on and get the results we need :)
