This FM 2017 player profile of Idrissa Doumbia shows a versatile defensive midfielder capable of winning back possession and starting the counter. During my test save Doumbia developed better than expected physical attributes and grew into quite an all rounder. He can obviously defend but also pass with great vision and dribble, there aren’t too many good DMC’s capable of carrying the ball out like this lad. £12 million seems expensive but not if your system focuses on carrying the ball forward from the back. I think the quantity of regular assists and goals back up his attributes too.
