The FM 2016 player profile of Ruben Neves shows one of the best young defensive midfielders in the game, this lad has excellent potential. FC Porto would let him go for 15 million at the start of the game, I’d surely spend that much on a player with this kind of potential.
In my test save he remained at the Portuguese side until 2021 and produced exceptional seasons throughout, superb average ratings and loads of assists to his name. His development was very good as well, he became very strong but quite agile as well, his mental attributes became world class while his first touch, passing and technique also developed nicely. If you need a deep-lying playmaker for more than 10 years then this lad is the one to buy.

Goretzka or Thiago Maia? Not for a particular role. Just as individuals. I’m managing Arsenal in Dec start 2015 in my save. Maia is available for 19m while Goretzka is available for 16m. I need a midfielder because Wilshere is out and Arteta and Flamini are really bad. Or if any other CM you can suggest.

Goretzka is the better player in my view, but Maia is two years younger.
