The FM 2016 player profile of Matthias Ginter shows a versatile young central defender, capable of providing cover on the right flank and in the middle of the pitch. Most likely he will never be cheap but you could find a good opportunity to sign him later in the game.
In my test save he remained at Dortmund and became the pillar of their defence, with great average ratings throughout his last few seasons. He developed into an almost perfect central defender, excellent in the air, very strong and also with very good mental attributes. The only thing that he lacks is acceleration, so you will need to pair him with a fast defender or employ a deep defensive line.
