This FM 2016 player profile of Kristoffer Ajer shows a potentially world class defensive midfielder. Ajer can play from the bench early on even with the top teams. Best used as a DMC I like the role of half back due to his aerial prowess Ajer can be a shield in front of your back line dropping in when needed. However, the Norwegian is probably best developed as a deep lying playmaker. In my test save his teamwork, vision, passing and technique improved enough to reflect this.
Ajer is a tireless midfielder who makes up for his lack of pace with stamina, fitness and strength.

Woo finally someone I can sign for my Newcastle save due to the depressing budget, don’t know if you’ve started with the toon Darren but seems like a good team but poor defence, if you use you done anything in terms of transfers in or out?

Yeh the options defensively are shocking, who’d have thought SI would make the game so realistic :) I haven’t had chance to try the save properly yet though in fairness.

How much does Ajer normally go for? I’ve seen people getting him for £1.2-1.5m yet I can’t get him for anywhere near that.
Latest save I got knocked back with my initial bid and they came back wanting £4.2m up front, £2.4m in instalments, £600k after 20 games plus 30% of future profit, will probably be able to knock them down a bit but will still end up costing over £3m out of the 1st season’s budget plus future instalments, happens every time and I just can’t afford to spend that much on him as it’ll mean neglecting other positions

What point in the game are you bidding and has he already been bought? I have never paid more than £2 million even when using installments.

When I signed him for Wolves at the beginning of FM16, I paid 1.4million for him. He absolutely bossed the Championship, one of my best players, and now he is valued at 6million, and still has a lot of development left.

As soon as the game starts, trying to sign him for Liverpool so no idea if reputation makes a difference but most of the big guns also bid for him but never see any bids go over £2m+ addons, going to let it run and see how much he goes for

I never thought it was possible but on a save I checked his PA was 189, could it have changed during a save?

Was after using genie scout on a save, don’t have the save now but pretty sure it wasn’t as high when I started the save

Not sure whether genie scout is completely reliable to be honest, haven’t tried it in quite a few years though so I don’t know how the latest versions look like.

To be honest it must be impossible for Ajer to have that potential, potential ability is what it is it can’t increase…so I guess if what Steven says is true then Genie Scout can’t really be trusted, in my opinion based on that anyway.

Sorry about the late reply in here. The trick is to make the offer as soon as you chose the club, even before you meet your assistants/journalists. If you wait for a week or so Start will start asking around 4.5+ mil.
And about the potential of Ajer, it could be possible if Steven is using any of the transfer update patches. There are some patches that could alter the CA and PA of players. :)

There are no official patches that alter the PA, Ajer has had the same PA throughout all releases. Maybe an unofficial database but then seems a silly point to be bringing up if thats the case.

We both know that official releases won’t alter PA ;). I was referring to unofficial transfer updates.
Btw on topic, I tend to notice that the player develops quickly if you have a suitable tutor in the senior team with highly rated training/youth setup than sending him on loan.

That’s impressive. I signed him for Hamburg, and his strength is already at 17, and his natural fitness increased, but other stats are taking a while to develop, his first touch hasnt changed in a while. whilst his decision making, concentration and composure has been steadily increasing. He is still only 18, so I will continue playing him, but him and Marcelo Meli in the middle of the park are bossing it in the midfield for me. Went 13 games unbeaten with Hamburg with them, and considering how poor Hamburg are, thats impressive
