This FM 2015 player profile of Sergi Samper shows a great young defensive midfielder, raised at the famous Barcelona youth academy. At the start of the game he is at Barcelona B and the best thing is that he has a minimum fee release clause in his contract: 9 million pounds. Considering his potential I’d say he’s worth buying right away because that clause might not be there forever.

In my test save Napoli took advantage of that clause right away and they did the right thing as after a couple of seasons they sold him to Chelsea for a huge profit. He didn’t do well at Stamford Bridge though, played just one game in three seasons for some reason. However, Manchester United spent nearly 30 million pounds on him in 2020 and he delivered a great debut season at Old Trafford. His future profile screen shot shows a defensive midfielder with exceptional mental attributes, exquisite technique and nearly perfect passing.

His amazing technique and passing make him a great candidate for any playmaker role, he could also do a great job as a regista.
