Charly Musonda Junior
Club: Chelsea
Position: MC
Age: 16
Nationality: Belgian / Zambian
Compared to: Eden Hazard
Charly Musonda Junior is yet another rising star coming from Belgium. His father was a Zambian international and played for Anderlecht in Belgium for the best part of his career, so his three sons joined the Anderlecht youth ranks. Charly Junior is by far the most talented of the three, and he attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City at the age of 15. In the end it was Chelsea who snapped him up in 2012, and they got his two older brothers as well. In June 2013 Charly Musonda Junior has been promoted to the Chelsea academy as a full-time scholar.
His talent is obvious, he seems a natural born football player. Check out some of his skills in the video below:
Charly Musonda Junior stats
Belgium Under 17 > Appearances: 10 / Goals: 2
Belgium Under 16 > Appearances: 9 / Goals: 5
Belgium Under 15 > Appearances: 9 / Goals: 0
What should we expect from this FM 2014 wonderkid? He surely has immense talent, the way he controls the ball speaks volumes about that. He dribbles very well, has good agility and can also pick a pass. This lad should become a great midfielder in Football Manager 2014 but given his very young age I think he could be trained for other positions as well. I just hope Chelsea won’t ask for too much money for him, even though I doubt the player would want to move in the first couple of seasons. Worth keeping an eye on him though, definitely.
By the way, FM 2014 was announced and you can pre-order the game from us to get access to the beta version two weeks before the full game release.

Pretty sure that Chelsea have 3 Musonda’s in their youth squad, it’s crazy. Charly looks great though, hopefully gets at least 4* potential this year.

Yeah, apparently Chelsea got his 2 brothers too in order to persuade their father to make Charly join the Blues. I guess they’ll loan them out pretty soon and keep just the really talented one :)

As a Chelsea fan, I’m really happy to see so many talents in our youth team coming through. Walter Figueira, Nathan Aké, Islam Feruz, Joao Rodriguez, Nathaniel Chalobah, Lucas Piazon and Kenneth Omeruo are fantastic players. I’d actually love to see our youngsters get their chance in the first team, even if results suffer little.
