This FM 2014 player profile of Maximilian Meyer shows a true wonderkid, a player that can already cope with top-flight football at the age of 17. Unfortunately Schalke know that they have a real gem in this kid and they want 20 million for him at the start of the game.
That asking price might be the reason why he remained at Schalke throughout my test save. He developed pretty well though, great agility, very creative and very good technique as well. This youngster is one of Europe’s top talents in my view but it might be difficult to lure him away from his boyhood club.

They are fairly similar but I’d choose Barkley because of the home-grown status. On the other hand, Mayer is 2 years younger… You can’t go wrong with either of them.
