This FM 2014 player profile of Lucas Evangelista shows an amazing Brazilian talent, an attacking midfielder with great potential. Unfortunately he can’t be bought at the start of the game because he is on a loan to buy deal at Sao Paulo. But he’s surely worth keeping an eye on for a future transfer.
In my test save he had quite a journeyman career, first went to Qatar for a bit of cash, then moved to Russia at Rubin, then to Shakhtar in Ukraine before finally making the big move to Manchester City for 24 million pounds. Such frequent moves can have an unpleasant effect on a player’s development but Lucas Evangelista became a great player even under those circumstances.
His future profile shows an attacking midfielder with great speed and agility, solid movement off the ball combined with creativity and flair, while his technical attributes are all at least decent if not exceptional overall. Considering that Sao Paulo sold him for just 1.6 million to Al-Sadd in my test save I reckon you would be able to get him for a similar fee during the 2014-2015 season.

I’m waiting on a work permit to sign him on mt Newcastle save. He’s got such all round stats what new position do you think it would be best to train him in? I’ve got limited funds so I like my players to be able to play a couple of positions. I’m using «Darren’s Dynamic 4-2-3-1» (brilliant tactic! 3rd in my first season) so the options could be central midfielder, left wingback or right inside forward…. any ideas?
