This FM 2013 player profile of Victor Wanyama shows an incredibly strong defensive midfielder, a real beast when it comes to getting the ball back from the opponents. He is already a very good player at the age of 21, can slot right into most teams. You should know that Benfica will make an offer for him right at the start of the game so you have to be prepared to match their price, which is 11.75 million pounds.

There isn’t much room for improvement left in him though, he’s already close to his full potential at the age of 21 but that shouldn’t be such a big problem since he’s already very good, excellent physique and solid mental attributes as well. In my test save he joined Benfica and remained there until 2019, enjoying fairly steady form. So, if you need a tough and rough anchor man in front of your defence, Wanyama is an excellent choice. He isn’t much when it comes to playing the ball, his technique is mediocre, but he can deliver decent shots from distance.

Best buy rating: 9/10

    Hey guys can you take a look at Dani Carvajal? He turns into a really good right back with insane mental attributes in my save. He made it into the World Team of the Year in the 4th season (under CPU management) after transferring to Real Madrid.

      I have just checked him out, he’s very good indeed so there will surely be a profile.

    very tempted to buy victor for my new arsenal save, haven’t bought anyone yet but looking for a good DMC i cant chose between Wanyama and Koke anyone used either of these if so do you think they would work as Anchor Man/DLP in premiership?

      I think Wanyama would be better as an anchor man but Koke is definitely better at passing the ball.

          In that case I guess I’d choose Koke, seems more suited to cover different roles.

    I bought Wanyama for Napoli first season and have been turning him into a CB; he is unstoppable, much better here than as a CM. Don’t be fooled by the «awkward/unconvincing» stat on his CB position, he is completely unbeatable at CB. FYI i play 4-2-3-1;

      I agree, he has all the qualities that are needed to make a good centre back.
