This FM 2013 player profile of Romelu Lukaku shows one of the best young strikers in the game, a player that is already very good at the age of 19 but becomes a real beast in a few years. As you well know he is on loan at West Brom at the start of the game but Chelsea are willing to let him go for 17.5 million. That’s a lot of money but he’s well worth it.

In my FM 13 test save he scored a few for WBA, then another fair few for Chelsea before being bought by Real Madrid for a little over 20 million pounds. His mental attributes at the age of 26 are insane, he is strong as an ox and develops decent skills on the ball. And that’s all under computer management, I think that if you get him at the start of the game and work on his technique a little bit he could become a deadly scoring machine.

Best buy rating: 10/10

its a shame lukaku in my save is prop to injuries. and that could be a big problem for me = /

Didn’t seem to have that problem in my test save. Is your save on the latest patch?

i am training chelsea in my save and he can return. so i decided to call him back to the club when i saw the reports from staff i sent him on loan to guimaraes to see if he really gets injured or not

I had a player in FM 12 that was reportedly prone to injuries and he did get injured quite often for a while but I kept playing him regularly when he was fit and then the problem disappeared from the staff reports, maybe that can happen in your case. As you can see the scout report screen shot I have doesn’t show that he might be prone to injuries.

ok i will se how it develops in guimaraes if he runs well for sure next season ill give him a shot.

As for shaqiri you can sign right on the first season for the 25 millions. and wilshere for 36 millions both expensive but both worhty in my opinion

Epic striker! Could never get him with Liverpool though, Chelsea always seem to not want to sell him to me :P

Any chance of a profile for a young Austrian named Valentino Lazaro? He’s been snatched up by Tottenham in my save and really looks decent!

I’ll have a look, thanks for suggesting Lazaro.

Can’t find Lazaro in my save, doesn’t appear in the database we’re using.

Darnit. He currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. I will try get a future profile, although I play the game slowly (I’m only 3 seasons in) :P

The guy is an utter beast! If you are Chelsea recall him immediately so you can train, tutor and play him. He progresses better that way.

In one game where he was comp-controlled however he ended up 3rd season at Wolves in the Championship, then season 5 to Lille in France (£5m) never really doing much.

That’s what I love about FM, every save is different. I saw a save where Jovetic had 10 pace at what should have been the height of his career due to the sheer number of injuries.

    Isn’t his Finishing a bit low? :S

    • Johnny Karp

      8 марта, 2013 at 20:55

Not really, doesn’t need finishing 20 to score lots of goals.

A certain somebody seems to be coming up with many, many negative comments since leaving the scouting networks team of scouts…its not gone unnoticed and I’m losing patience with it very quickly!

          8 марта, 2013 at 21:48

No, no, don’t take it that way. I love this site, just wrote my thoughts on this player, Lukaku. Yeah, sometimes I’ve been a bit negative, but don’t take it the wrong way. Cheers.

OK that’s fine, as long as its not intended in a bad way I will see your comments differently then. Just easy to see them in a bad light after you suggested we profile Messi because Vidal was such an obvious choice ;) That comment on Vidal read as questioning our decisions and was impossible to read any other way, so seemed like this one could be taken in the same light…but obviously that isn’t the case so lets brush it all under the carpet so to speak.

Hi. Would it be possible to profile Mario Balotelli? Preferably in a save where he gets a lot of game time. I know he’s a very high profile case, but I want to find out if he can actually get to be one of the world’s best. After all, you guys did profile Wilshere, Gotze and Neymar who are all very big names as well. Love the work you guys have put in btw!

    • Johnny Karp

      9 марта, 2013 at 10:49

Balotelli is not a bad idea, I’ll have a look. I’m quite curious to see how many red cards he gets :)

    • Johnny Karp

      9 марта, 2013 at 16:58

Just checked Balotelli in my test save, not very impressive. I guess I’ll wait for a better future screen shot for now.

Yeah, the the Vidal comment was kinda negative. Yep, let’s forget this.

Lukaku is a great player in that he seems to have a bit of everything and why Chelsea should keep hold of him for the future — although another spell at West Brom next season wouldn’t hurt him.

In FM13 however, as suggested, he certainly has a variety of skills to bring to your front-line. With decent off the ball movement, pace and strength, along with a few other key attributes, he can be a fantastic focal point when designing and fleshing out tactics.

Hey, what is your opinion about about Halilovic, Emre Can, or Ryan McLaughlin. They are, at least in my save, really good a couple of seasons in.

Also, Labyad is really good in my save as well. Not as young as the others, but still a good player. Just asking your thoughts and input.

As always, thank you for all of your hard work and expertise. :)

    • Johnny Karp

      11 марта, 2013 at 09:15

I don’t think Halilovic is available in my game due to the database set up, at least he wasn’t before the patch. The others are promising, will probably be profiled here sooner or later.

    • Johnny Karp

      11 марта, 2013 at 16:13

      UPDATE
Halilovic is available with the new patch and he’s pretty good, will surely get a profile.
Emre Can and Labyad are good, will probably be profiled. McLaughlin doesn’t get too far in my test save.

just a question witch role do you think is the best for lukaku ? proacher target man or striker ?

if proacher put balls for feet or air ?

    • Johnny Karp

      16 марта, 2013 at 09:57

I think he can do any role just as good, that’s why he’s such a great player. Depends on your tactic really.

Who do you think is the best future target man on the game?

Picked him up for £9m in 2014/5 at Wolves and he in he’s consistently scored 30+ goals a season, unbelievable beast! Worth £30m now, I’ll send you a screenshot if you like? He scores more goals than he plays games at the moment! He is injury prone, but this hasn’t been a massive problem as Fierro is a more than capable back up, does pick up a LOT of knocks though.

This prick scored a bloody hat trick against me for WBA. He is a beast though. :)

    • Johnny Karp

      7 мая, 2013 at 11:10

Haha, that’s why it’s best to have him in your team, not playing against you :)

        7 мая, 2013 at 11:58

Same problem here, he almost cost me both the Champions League and FA Cup final while playing for Chelsea, luckily my Toon forward line picked up the pieces.

I’m playing WBA and Lukaku absolutely beast I need someone who replace him prefer AF can score, long shot, assists and hold the ball as well any suggestions thx!!

    • Johnny Karp

      17 мая, 2013 at 20:29

Depends on how much money you have, I’d get a youngster like Benzia or Fierro.

P.S.: You don’t have to post the same question on several posts.

I’m sorry man. Would you have kind of 21 years old or above I’m afriad of their age too young maybe

          19 мая, 2013 at 18:00

Not really, they should become top notch players fairly quickly. If you want an already established player you might have to break the bank.

Lukaku is doing the business for me with Napoli in 14/15 onwards. I brought in Didier Drogba as under 20s assistant manager and I use him to suggest preferred moves for RL. His first idea was [sic] «He should play like I did, Plays with back to goal». Then, «Shoots with power» and «Shoots from distance» and «Marks opponent tightly». He will often score goals like Drogba did at Chelski, receiving the ball 30 yards out with his back to the goal, pausing, then turning into a inch of space and smashing the ball at goal. It’s a joy to watch.

I need a striker near Carlos Fierro, so, who’s the best between Lukaku and Lacina Traorè (or somebody else different from them)??? If it necessary the tactic is a 4-2-2-2 with the swings (in my case i suppose to take Bernard on the left and… someone on the right, im not sure)
Sorry for my English, i’m italian

    • Johnny Karp

      11 июля, 2013 at 10:10

Both Lukaku and Traore are very good, you can’t go wrong with either of them. Traore might be more affordable.

    11 июля, 2013 at 15:19

If you have to choose one striker, without watching the cost, who do you choose?? The best in the position that i said before…

Hope you understand my English :)

im in my 5th season(Roma), Lukaku has no intention to join my club eventhough i have the best team in Europe, won all possible trophies. Bought Alaba for 70million

He got 3 injury. 2 Twisted ankle for 2 weeks and 3 weeks and also stubbed toe for 6 days.

Not so bad then. I guess his decline might have other causes, like lack of matches or poor training.
