This FM 2013 Player Profile of Nicola Leali shows one of the best young keepers in FM13. While on loan you can’t bid for this kid, but reports suggest he may come available for as little as £2 million after the loan spell ends. There’s no point in going through Leali’s strong points, there’s just too many. The only real weakness’ to his game are rushing out, one on ones (kind of the same thing really) and of course composure. But the latter can be improved with relative ease.

I agree, he seems like a natural replacement for Buffon and would benefit from his tutoring.

Class goalkeeper, however like many others he seems to struggle in rushing out. Are there just genuinely no good goalies in a one on one situation or have SI made some mistakes?

Yes there are a lot of young keepers with terrible stats in these areas. But I don’t think SI have made a mistake as there’s a few who excel in this area when older, Lloris, Sergio Romero, Tim Krul, Yann Sommer and Szczesny. They popped up from a 5 second search so sure there’s more, you just have to pay for them unfortunately.

Fair enough, other than Szczesny I couldn’t recall anyone with good stats in that area, probably because I’m someone who doesn’t really like paying a lot for a goalkeeper so I miss out on a lot of players.

There are players out there with that ability, but I must admit they feel very limited when you consider the pool of good keepers.
