Astori is one of few very solid centre backs that can walk into any team, cement his place and last until his mid 30’s. The screenshots above show the Italian in decline and they are still very flattering, he starts with the right defensive skills and just develops those mental stats to an amazing level. Well worth buying to plug a hole in your leaky back four. Technically sound, Astori can pass his way out of trouble and reads the game like a children’s book. Not bad for £10 million.

I hadn’t noticed the transfer request thing, thats good news as you’d expect him to move almost anywhere within reason.

Yeah I’d second this, I got him for 16m at end of 1st season for AC Milan, he’s quality in terms of attributes and performance. This screenshot is a little underwhelming compared to my experience with him, he’s been wasted at Cagliari.

Yeah I have seen him progress better in other patches, partially down to age but mainly down to Cagliari’s development, he did much better with Arsenal in the last patch.

Considering he’s considered to be worth £7.75m at the start of the game to get him for just 30% over that seems a good price.

No doubting Shawcross’ ability but also depends on what you’re looking for in a defender I guess, Seen as you’re making that comment I guess you’ve used both players in game then? Otherwise its a bit of a rash assumption as the attributes don’t back up your comment and the career stats are from AI management which is always way lower than human management.
