The last league game of the month was at home with 11th placed Hartlepool, a team that we defeated 3-1 away from home back in October. Tinga gave us the lead just before the break with one of his trademark long range shots, it seemed that victory was ours. My defenders started the second half with a bit less concentration and we paid for a defensive error right away. Luck wasn’t on our side that day, we had countless headers from inside the box but most of them went high or wide…
We were back in 2nd place after that draw but we had two games in hand…
But March was not over yet, we had to get back at the crime scene, Wembley Stadium… The painful memories of the Everton game had to be erased and replaced with some nice ones, we had to play the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final with League Two side Luton Town. It was the first final in the club’s 149 year history and we had to seize the opportunity and bring some silverware home. And we didn’t give Luton any chance, we solved things before the break. First Szalai scored with a missile from inside the penalty area, then Pinzi placed a shot from 25 yards out and Grosicki scored from inside the box right before the break, a quick combination left him completely unmarked with only the opposition keeper in front of him.
Hopefully the «Wembley curse» is now gone, we still have to fight for the League One title. The last game of the season will be away at Huddersfield but I hope to secure the title before that match, I wouldn’t want to fight for it in a difficult away game.
I’m glad that the month is finally over, it was quite a tough one. The next few games will be very important but I feel that the confidence level is back up, so we should be able to win the title. But things can always go wrong, stay tuned to find out!

Wow, that’s one of your toughest months ever I think. I’ve just be catching up on your other stories with Chester and Blyth Spartans which are incredible. Hopefully you will return to form in April and snatch the title from Huddersfield. Keep going though!

@Eddie
Indeed, it was by far the worse month so far in FM 2010. Thanks for the good luck wish though ;)
@Kevin
Thanks mate, I’m happy you are reading the older stories too.
@Martin
No problem, I like long comments. I guess we were lucky to get Luton, a League Two team, in the final, it was a good chance for us. I wish them luck in real life though :)

Looks like one of your «visitors» is just jealous that they can’t achieve the same kind of success. I could say the same thing as my «career» is always start-stop-new game, so why you should you have so much glory. don’t because I’m enjoying this too much and takes my mind off the -15C outside.
I seem to be total crap after pre-season each and every time.
Do you have either of your previous stories on a single file that you send me? I’d love to print and read them in full whilst riding the Toronto subway system 2 hours every day. Here’s my work email due to the time difference. kevin.mayo@aegoncanada.ca
cheers!

@Kevin
I don’t have the stories in a file, I always write the posts directly into the website. I can’t download them as printable files either, they are stored in a database… I will try to figure out a way to get them into a file but I can’t promise anything.

Kevin, I tried to find some solutions for you and so far I came up with two of them. First you can find a «Print this post» link right above the title of each post, so you can print the posts easily. The second option is a PDF creating plugin, you can find that on the bottom of each post, above the comments section. There you can insert your email address and have the PDF file sent to your email address. That’s all I could do right now, I will try to find some other solution if these are not satisfying.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have access to Canon production class copier at work so I’ll try printing them off and see how that goes.
Only -12C outside today LOL!

OK Kevin, let me know how that goes. Unfortunately I didn’t find a way to export multiple posts to PDF at once but I’ll keep looking.
