Hi there!
Since I haven’t posted lately I thought I should stop by and explain to you guys what’s been happening. Well since the 12th of September I’ve gone back to college to complete the 2nd year of my Graphic Design course, and because of all the stuff happening at the moment I’ve had hardly any time to play FM and when I have had time I can’t be bothered and lose interest after a match.
Because of this my Hull story has progressed 2 games in 2 weeks and so I’ve come up with an idea. I will continue to play FM11 whenever I can, and if I manage to complete my 1st season in the Premier League I’ll do a long season overview post. I figure this way is better since there’s no danger of us being left marooned in mid-February and not knowing what would have happened if I don’t get finished on time.
I’m really sorry for the inconvenience but I guess these things happen. I’ll definitely be making time for FM12 when it’s released though so if I don’t manage to complete a 2nd season with Hull then I should be back with a new story in October.
While I’m here I’d just like to throw out a question as well…
Who should I be on FM12?
I ask this because I’ve no idea who to be, I’ve had niggling thoughts about Blackburn or Fulham but I’m no where near 100% sure so I thought I’d let you guys throw some options at me!
Thanks for reading!

It would be interesting to see one of you manage a team from Germany. Maybe like the struggling Wolfsburg or Schalke perhaps? Even newly promoted teams like Hertha Berlin or Augsburg..

Wolfsburg sound interesting, I’ll definitely consider them, although my first game is likely to be in England where I’m more familiar so I can get to grips with the game.

aah! i was looking forward to your Hull story, but i guess it cant be helped at all. And with college being an important year in your life. Im sure you can be forgiven!
I’m feeling a team you support, even if a very big club (one of the big four) i always find it very rewarding if i am able to win any trophies with Arsenal.
Good luck with college, and looking forward to seeing your new team!

Well I do support Newcastle but there’s no way I would ever be able to emulate Darren’s success with them! Naturally they are one of my choices though, and even Arsenal I consider to be a good challenge at the moment. Thanks for the good luck :)

Well school comes first mate and you need to make sure the game isn’t effecting what is really important. As for FM12, I like the sounds of Blackburn because you hear of few stories managing them.
Dan

You’re right about college Darren, plus the work load is enormous and none stop with a final show for 400 people at the end of the year! :o
Blackburn actually popped into my mind because they have a pretty good team and controversial owners, and as you know, Newcastle fans are experts at putting up with controversial owners! ;)

Not surprised Dan, similar thing happened to me, but good that you’re still doing an FM12 story :) I like the sound of Blackburn too mate.
Dan

Wouldn’t miss doing an FM12 story for the world Laxeyman :)

Please be Blackburn theres never any stories about them and there the team I support and unfortunate to hear about your Hull save but collage comes first.
Dan

Hey George,
I was looking forward to your reaction on Blackburn. I’m being encouraged by the fact that I’ve never actually seen a Blackburn story so I guess it would be a good one to do.

(My english is not perfect)
In FM 2012 I would like to see you manage a Portuguese team. Portugal has got a good league and I’m Portuguese so I vote for any Portuguese team. :D
Dan
20 сентября, 2011 at 17:09
Don’t worry about your English, there’s not a single mistake! :)
I’ll take Portugal into account, thanks.

Cheers Sears!
No rhyme intended :D

Hi Dan
You are making the right decision there as FM is not really a priority in life even though we all play it so much! good luck with college and your studies — I wish you every success. Blackburn works for me but as an alternate you could start unemployed and see who’s available. Then reload a new game and start as manager of one of those teams. You could wait for ages when clicking continue as unemployed. Hope that makes sense?
Dan
20 сентября, 2011 at 17:12
Thanks Kevin,
I think I understand what you’re saying, start unemployed to see if there’s any jobs that take my fancy, then once I’ve found one, restart the game with that team…

School first I guess, its annoying, I just started high-school and I have quite a lot of work. Blackburn sounds good, and so does Stoke.
Dan

Hey vaibhavc,
Glad you like the sound of Blackburn, and enjoy high school, especially the first couple of years where no big decisions have to be made. I had a great time :)

You’ve got your priorities right so no apologising!
Dan
20 сентября, 2011 at 17:16
Hey celticman,
It was more of a statement than an apology but I thought I’d put a small apology in there just for the people who were disappointed about the story possibly not finishing.

Be Any One BUT BLACKBURN_ there the scum of lancashire they put teams like burnley in the shadows :D but yh id go with fulham :D
Dan

Are you a Burnley fan plobdork ;)
You’re the first to vote for Fulham so I’ll take that into account.

perhaps Wolves, a big team with lots of history and ambition
or maybe AFC Wimbledon take them back to their former glory; and sega sponsors you :)
Dan
20 сентября, 2011 at 17:19
I’ve always wanted to be AFC Wimbledon but I’ve never had the commitment with a team to take them from the bottom to the top. Now Wolves are an interesting option who I’ll need to consider.

It happens with everyone mate..
I would go for Wigan if you wanted an EPL team, always manage to avoid relegation but lacking that something that would take them up the table.
Or something a little more adventurous, like a journeyman save?
Dan
20 сентября, 2011 at 17:23
Hey Excessive,
I’ll be honest, there’s as much chance of me being Wigan, as there is of me being Sunderland, there not one of my favourite teams.
The journeyman save is always a good option but the thing is it always takes me ages to win anything with a team. It would be good to see if I could take some Eastern European teams from countries like Romania and Poland to the bigger stage.

Shame about school but I know the feeling, I have had much less time to play FM because it’s my final year of GCSE and i’ve been getting so much work to do!
I’d love to see you do a Leeds United story but that’s probably because i’m a leeds fan haha
Dan
21 сентября, 2011 at 17:04
Hey Jake,
I’m doing a national diploma in art and the work load there is enormous too so I guess we’re kind of in the same boat.
I’ll consider Leeds but I think it may be a little too easy, which I guess can be taken as a compliment to a Leeds fan :)

Hi Dan
I totally understand mate i have been their and done that and it is so hard to find the time but education is more important. Good Luck with your studies.
As for the team to manage I am going to say Swansea City but if not Blackburn.
Dan
21 сентября, 2011 at 17:08
Hey Martin,
Swansea are a good team for a story but I think it might be biting off a little more than I can chew for my first story on FM12 due to all the changes. I’m sure someone else will do a Swansea story though.

Hi Dan
why not try a Brighton game or maybe an Arsenal one trying to get them back to the winning days
Dan
25 сентября, 2011 at 20:53
Hey Liam,
Brighton are tempting just because they have Vicente! But the fact that Darren is them at the moment and that fact that he did so well means I would get bored easily if I didn’t emulate that. As for Arsenal that would be interesting but I’m not sure how many people would want to see an Arsenal story.
