Warren — FM 2011 Hartlepool United Part 1 2012/13

Published on

Hi everyone, hope you all have had a good Christmas. Welcome back to the next part in my Hartlepool story at allthatisfm. After the signings had been finalised and the deal had been done it was time to get down to business and start winning games that will see us challenging for the promotion spots this season. I got a bit carried away so I am quite far ahead in this story so I will just do this month on a three part series. So let’s get started.

August Results

A 100% record in the league was the perfect way to start the season off and I was scoring plenty of goals to which will excite the fans. The first game of the season saw both Henaini and Brown pick up where they left in the previous campaign with a goal apiece in a 2-1 win over Sheffield United. We were then dumped out of the League Cup at the first time of asking but like usual I wasn’t going to worry too much about that as I use the League Cup to bring in youngsters. Two more goals secured another three points this time at Coventry. The last game of the month and my first game of the season at Victoria Park was a bit of a humdinger. Where 5 goals were scored and 3 of them went to the blue and white of Hartlepool.

September Results

We now move onto September and we were starting to look like good bets for a play-off spots at the least with wins over Bristol City, Preston and Norwich. My month was spoiled with two below average performances against teams I felt I should be beating. The defeat against Hull was a particular low point as I was two-nil up and just capitulated in the second half and conceded three soft goals.

October Results

Into October and a much better month but it’s still not the best and I need to be more consistent if I am going to achieve what I want to this season. Hopefully the 3-0 loss against Doncaster was just a one off and that I can start and but a real good run of form soon to put the other teams under pressure. I enjoyed the win against Pompey as they still have really good quality players even though the league table doesn’t show it but the win against Brighton won POTM.

November Results

The final month of the post that I will feature today is November and looking at this month I would probably say that this is the toughest one so far. The first game was against my favourite club Newcastle United. It was certainly an exciting game and with both teams going for a win it was probably fitting that neither side won and the points were shared after a 3-3 draw. We then faced Burnley in another exciting game but were on the end of a 4-2 defeat. The month picked up after that and we secured 7 points out of a possible 9.

Table

So after 18 games we were in a similar position to where we were last year but I was more confident that we were going to be able to hang onto the play-off spots this season as a minumin. I was pleased with the way we started the season. We were still only a single point from the automatic promotion place but it would take a massive effort to gain one of those places as there are a lot of teams going for it.

Thanks for reading
