Stade Malherbe Caen: Start of season 2013-14

Published on

Welcome back to another post of my French story. I have to say that we are doing a great job here on this site. First and foremost Johnny Karp, but everyone who’s posting their story here really has the right desire for it. It’s enjoyable to follow everone’s progress here. Finally, to all of you who are leaving your comments every single time, you know who you are — Thank you! Without you it just wouldn’t be worth it.

With that said I’ll continue with the story.

I’ve played for some time now on my game and I’ll do a little ‘first half season’ summing up. If there is a rather dull part of the season it’s the first 3 months. It’s not that i hate em, but they’re not really filled with glamourous games and the league isn’t that exciting until the final stretch.

A fantastic start to the season saw us winning almost every game, except for a tough loss against Stade Rennais in the Coupe de la ligue. City also managed to beat us in the CL group stage. On the other hand I had some impressive wins aswell. Like the one against PSG with 4-0.

Gignac has really started out well as the front man. Bagging 9 goals so far. Villalva has been a bit quiet when he’s got the chance, still scoring goals (4 already) but he isn’t that visible on the pitch, more of a jack-in-the-box type of player, pouncing on opportunities inside the box.

*M’Bengue was out injured for some time and Kolodzieczack is filling in admirable.

That’s it for now!

Cheers,

Majk
