So what’s it to be…?

So ‘Destroying a Dynasty‘ part two is under-way after the very annoying scenario of loosing the save. For anyone that hasn’t been following my story, this basically means that I am just overtaking Varberg BOIS in every aspect I can eventually aiming to be the new dominant force in Swedish and World football.

First off was to resign (again..) from my two jobs; France and Varbergs BOIS.

You’ll notice that on the France screenshot I had only been in the job a measly FIVE days before I resigned. Haha! Anyway, I decided that it was best that I did resign as I really needed to concentrate on club management. This was going to be one hell of a task and with the nuisance that I had to endure with France at Malmo, it was the right decision.

So with ‘holiday mode’ activated, I sat back, relaxed and watched the offers roll in..

Well kind of, I went from July to October with only one offer.. Blackburn! The offers came thick and fast in November but it was mainly consisting of English clubs that wanted me.. I even got this:

Haha, wouldn’t want another Brighton story now would we?! ;)

Anyway, I couldn’t really pick and choose who I wanted to be due to the lack of job availability. I mean no club in the Swedish premier league was underachieving?! Well, I guess that’s what their chairman thought anyway because after looking at the league I could pick out at least 4-5 different teams that would and should have lost their managers when the season closed..

After a half hour debating whether or not it was the right decision for me I finally decided on the club I wanted to manage. Say hello to..

Turn over to see an overview of the club…

Club Information

Allmänna Idrottsklubben (AIK)

Formed: 1891
Chairman Status: Loves the Club
Rivals: IFK Göteborg, Hammarby Fotboll, Djurgarden
Finances: Secure
Continental Competitions: None
Captain: Martin Nielsen
Vice Captain: Jere Forsman

Media Prediction: 4th (Swedish First Division Elite)

So the media thought I was crazy, dropping down a division to become the new manager of AIK after being in the top flight of Swedish football for so long. They also said that I lacked ambition?! Sorry, is my aim to get them to destroy the current leading dynasty in Swedish football not enough for you lot? Haha. Ahh well, so it looks like I have it all to do already. Here is the background on my new club…

Excellent, a club with pedigree! I love taking fallen giants, much like I was trying to do with Malmo, and try to restore their stature so this will be a great challenge for me. I honestly don’t understand how they managed to get relegated, especially with such a loyal fan base, brilliant facilities and when I played them with Varbergs BOIS, brilliant players! But they have been in the Swedish second tier for the best part of 4 years.. Something I need to change drastically if I am going to get this club back fighting for Allsvenskan league titles.

Lets have a little gander at their history..

A little less full than Malmo, but with 11 league titles, 9 league cups and a Swedish Super Cup to their name they are no strangers to success.

Now, I say that with a pinch of salt as their current standing in the game is.. Well you can see for yourselves as this is where they managed to finish in the Swedish second tier last year:

Well, that took me by surprise anyway. They were relegation candidates last season! In the Second Division of Swedish Football! Blimey.. I honestly thought they would be higher than that when I clicked on the previous standings. Still, its a challenge so the harder it is the more rewarding it will be ;)

A quick look at the finances too:

Top ten isn’t half bad, especially for a Swedish second division club! We are a long way off the BOIS so hopefully this is something I can rectify over the course of the save. £95+ Million to make up though.. It is quite a figure ;)

Lastly a gander over the squad:

This view shows the ‘Home Grown’ Players that I have got currently. I won’t take you through the squad as it is most likely going to endure a major overhaul as we try and nab a few more players over the winter, but my Home grown players aren’t exactly great.

Anyway, thanks to you lot for voting, hopefully this time we can go all the way to (finally) smashing Varbergs BOIS off their perch at the top of Swedish football!

See you next time when I’ll be going through the pre-season in Stockholm.

Till then, hej då :D
