Sears — FM11 Queens Park: The Spiders are going up 11/12

Published on

Hey everyone, welcome back to my Queens Park story. At the end of the first half of the season, we were twenty-two points clear at the top and promotion was looking a certainty. On top of that, we were enduring a fantastic run in the Scottish Cup. All in all I was exceeding the boards expectations and they were trilled.

League fixtures:

Our first game in February was against Stirling. They couldn’t match our skills and we beat them 3-0. In a seven goal triller we overcame Ayr at home 4-3. We went 4-0 up but Ayr clawed themselves back in to it and scored three goals. We somehow held on for the win. Annoying Clyde were next up, and thankfully we trashed them 5-0 :-) I was delighted with my teams performance. Boyce was back to his best as he netted a brace. March witnessed us continue our form. We narrowly defeated Cowdenbeath away 3-2. You may remember they beat us 6-2 earlier in the season thus I was pleased to beat them on this occasion. Goals from Boyce and Mayulu saw off Forfar 2-0, and that was it. With seven games remaining, we were announced champions of the Scottish Second Division!! However Peterhead wrecked our celebrations as they inflicted defeat upon us. We bounced back well to beat Livingston 3-2. April was another good month for us.Despite being crowned champions, I wanted to extend our lead at the top. We hammered struggling Dumbarton 3-1, and destroyed Aidrie Utd 3-1 as well. In May, we recorded a 2-1 victory over Ayr.

The table demonstrates how much we dominated the division, we finished a mega thirty-one points clear of Livingston! We’d the best defensive and attacking stats, as well as having a +52 goal difference.

Our phenomenal run in the Scottish Cup elated my board. We faced Elgin in the 5th round, let’s see how we got on shall we?

That result was fantastic, we were now in the quarter final of the Scottish Cup. Our opposition? Premier League side St.Johnstone. We had to play them away,Iwould have preferred to have played them at home but sure.. Here are the highlights of this eagerly anticipated tie:

Oh-no! Missed penalty in the last second??? We were so close….

They defeated us in the replay 3-2 to send us crashing out of the Scottish Cup.. :-( We were just a penalty away from the semi final.!!

Overall my squad were superb. Kuduzovic was our best player by a country mile! He scored 26 goals and assisted 27 times in 35 (5) games. Liam Boyce had a wonderful season despite being injured for a while. Sodini became a brick wall towards the end of the season and scored a few from set pieces too. Bernardo had a good season, but injury saw him finish early. Pivard impressed since joining in January. However, new players are needed and loads of the current team will be released over the course of pre season.

That’s all folks, thanks for reading.
